Would you put your lunch next to THIS in the refrigerator at your job?The picture above is a fridge in Kermit Gosnell’s abortion clinic. Workers put their lunch in there…squeezed next to bags of dozens of frozen dead babies!
In Pennsylvania alone there are 30-40-thousand (reported) abortions performed per year and authorities say the above gruesome picture is just a snapshot into the horror that has been going on uninspected for 17 years in one Philadelphia clinic. Gosnell allegedly slit the necks, severed the spinal cords, and suctioned the brains of hundreds of born, living, viable babies, sometimes joking along the way.

Urban Gun Violence: Who Shot Ya?
by Tracy Renee Jones
And I'm grateful for that. I haven't been writing much lately and I don't feel like writing this right now but I must. My best friend's seventeen year old son was approached by two men and shot in the back with a 9 millimeter on the evening of November 11, 2010. He lived, but the bullet severed his spine. He's paralyzed and is now settled into a rehabilitation center learning how to become independent while his single mother scrambles to and fro in search of a new handicapped accessible apartment. I have no idea how she's dealing with this. She has two younger children to care for so she is not afforded the luxury of falling out in a heap of self pity.
Every time I look at his picture I cry. She and I were raised together but fell out of touch. There is a picture on my desk of she and I and our then toddler children taken immediately after coming in contact with each other again. I was the one who spoke her son into existence after suggesting that she needed a child to slow her down and get her centered. Only days later she realized she was pregnant; and he did settle her down into motherhood.
It's easy enough for me to ignore the violent deaths that go on in the urban (read: poor black) sections of Essex County. I would say living here causes one to become detached and immune to news of another gun death but that's not true. Living in any ANY urban dwelling causes one to grow distant from the violence that comes included with the utility bill. The only exciting news about Newark gun violence as of lately is that no one getting shot has been killed by the bullet. Apparently, we're dealing with kinder, gentler more life valuing thugs or these mutha fuckas got bad aim.Published: Saturday, December 04, 2010, 5:20 PM Updated: Saturday, December 04, 2010, 5:22 PM
"Six men are shot overnight in Newark"
NEWARK — Newark suffered a violent night as six people were shot throughout the city in five separate incidents between Friday evening and this morning, authorities said. At 10 p.m. Friday, one person was shot at 25 Broad St. At 10:15 p.m., two people were shot on the 300 block of 6th Avenue. Another person was shot at 216 South St. at 11:13 p.m. Shortly following that, a person was shot on Devine St. at 11:30. One person was shot on Telford Street around 5 a.m. today. All of the victims are believed to be male, according to law enforcement officials, and all were transported to University Hospital for treatment. All six survived, though the man shot on Telford Street is in critical condition. No further details were available yesterday.

No Guns for Negroes: A Look at Gun Control & its Impact on the Black Community
A long time reader and friend brought me attention to the following documentary some time ago. It deals with the issue, or the idea that gun control laws are inherently racist. I've held off on posting this before now because I'm somewhat skeptical of the true intent of the presentation. Personally, I'm all for gun control. More specifically, as I've written in the past [read here & here]. I'm for laws that control or address the many ways the criminal element or everyday guy can purchase firearms illegally in our streets.
So that said, I'm very leery and see the following as nothing more than propaganda from right-wing sponsored pro-gun activists. Propaganda which pimps Black folks to promote their ideas; and quite frankly, I'm not down with that; and I'm not too sure those groups are concerned with crime in the inner-city. I admit that some of the material presented as far as a historical context, seems accurate. But yet and still I have a problem with the "sales pitch" as one which has the best interest of crime in the black community in mind.
So do me a favor and check it out will you? Please do and be sure to share your thoughts in the commentary on the gun control "problem" as you see it (total runtime 20 minutes). In light of recent events this past weekend in Chicago and the number of shootings and homicides, I think it's time that we had this conversation, on this site at least. Yeah, let's exchange some ideas on this issue, shall we?

White House is concerned about inner city violent crime
So apparently Newark, NJ. mayor, Corey Booker, has been doing great job of transforming the once crime riddled city. So much of a good job that not only did he secure a second term in office. He was also invited to the White House along with a couple other mayors, to attend a security briefing on violence in inner cities. When I read that, I thought, "Cool, my man Barry-O is lookin' out for the hood; way to go remembering where you came from O-Beezy!"
I mean, Obama being a former representative of the city with the largest black population per capita in the country; a city that has already seen one hundred homicides to date. Certainly as president he's concerned about violent crime in the inner-city, right? Surely he's not out of touch and unconcerned, right? But then I read this story on NJ.com:
I mean when I think of crime in the inner city, I don't exactly connect it to Somali nationals. Nor do I worry about them radicalizing citizens by them being Muslim. OK, so there used to be Jamaican gangs runnin' mad dope back in the day. But Somali pirates in the hood? Hell, as long as brothers been on the corners selling bean pies and ain't one of them ever flew a plane into a tall building(?). Why the hell are Somali nationals a concern?

Certainly as president he's concerned about violent crime in the inner-city, right? Surely he's not out of touch and unconcerned, right? But then I read this story on NJ.com:
The meeting, conducted in the White House situation room, was focused on terrorist groups recruiting people on American soil. Officials briefed on the discussion said it was not centered on Islamic extremism but the larger context of violence, its root causes, and means of prevention.Somali pirate terrorists? No seriously, they had a discussion on violence in "the hood", and the issue was that of "radicalization" of citizens by Somali natives? OK, maybe I don't get out much, but when did Somali pirates hijack the hood? Call me stupid, but I sincerely doubt whether "Captain Black Gums" running around singing, "Yo ho ho, and a bottle of Hennessy," has ever became a problem throughout the urban landscape.
"The Administration routinely meets with state and local officials to obtain their perspectives and better understand the issues they are facing. One issue is the threat of domestic radicalization," said one Obama Administration official familiar with the meeting but was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly. "During the meeting, mayors provided invaluable insights into this issue and discussed the ways in which the Federal government can help them address the threat."
According to other officials briefed on the discussions, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Columbus, Ohio Mayor Michael Coleman were also present at the meeting. Because of high Somali populations in their cities, Rybak and Coleman discussed radicalization among that group in particular, but it was not the focus of the discussion,
FBI investigations in both cities made headlines last year with both cities suggested as jumping off points for domestic attacks perpetrated by Somalis elsewhere in the U.S. Coleman’s spokesman, Dan Williamson, said he didn’t know the extent to which the radicalization of Somalis was discussed.

You know the economy is bad when Suge Knight goes around robbing broke rappers
Anybody who reads this blog on the regular can tell you how much I highlight the plight of the urban negro in these economic times. As if we needed more proof and justification for a true jobs bill. In steps Marion "Suge" Knight. A name that in-spite of being knocked the fuck out by virtually unknown patrons at night clubs, still invokes fear. Yep, just ask Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg; I think they both still sit down to pee in their own homes because of the bald bully.
Check out what Suge who at last count only had $11 in his bank account has been up to lately; and yet another reason Obama n'em better make it happen with a jobs bill:
Forget that question. What's more important is how is Yukmouth able to afford $92, 000 worth of Jewelry? I mean there's no way he still has "I Got Five On It" money, especially after you adjust for inflation. Does Suge really think that cat still has $5 on it?
Well, only if he's doing those things thatniggas certain citizens do to get by, I suppose. Which leads to another question: When did "gangsta rappers" start calling the cops and pressing charges? 'Sup with that Yukmouth?
See Barack, the streets ain't safe anymore, son! And until Negroes have jobs it's only gonna get worse. If Suge is gonna do that to broke-ass rappers. What do y'all think he's gonna do to regular folks like me and you, and all the old ladies out there as they cash their checks and go grocery shopping? Watch ya back, folks.

Suge Knight is a wanted man once again. The former Death Row Records head honcho allegedly beat and robbed rapper Yukmouth last night ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.Fuck is up with that Marion? Outside of a Supermarket? Posted up and knocking folks in the head these days? What, are you trynna get your street cred back after taking those ass-whoopins outside the club?
Sources say it all went down at around 10 PM at a Ralph's supermarket in the San Fernando Valley.
According to a law enforcement source, Suge and roughly 10 members of his posse allegedly beat up Yukmouth and then took $92,000 worth of jewelry from him.
Sources say Suge and his entourage are suspects and cops want to question them.
We're also told there's a previous misdemeanor warrant out for Suge's arrest -- which makes it unlikely he'll visit the police department. (source)

Maurice Clemmons: Is it okay for "THEM" to speak on Black issues?
By Seattle Slim
In case you haven't been able to catch any news this week, the internet and the news outlets, especially here in the Seattle area, have been abuzz after the cruel execution of four police officers from the Lakewood Police Department on Sunday at a Forza coffee shop while they prepared for their day. The killer was a deranged, child rapist/molester, with one hell of a rap sheet, Maurice Clemmons.
Naturally, the perpetrator being black was a factor in some of the conversations in the aftermath. I guess some folks couldn't resist, considering just one month before, Ofcr. Tim Brenton was also executed by a biracial (black) man.
Some voiced yesterday and today that there was a "subculture" that was very much against cops, and we all know that "subculture" means black folks or ghetto black folks, one of the two (or even both).
On the Dori Munson show on KIRO FM, he kept mentioning this "subculture", because Clemmons had what seemed like an Army of dirtbag family members and friends who had been coddling and protecting his ass, when he should've answered for his actions. Matter of fact, the police hauled in quite a few of his accomplices and they aren't done yet.
People out here just can't understand how his family members and friends tended to his gunshot wounds, protected him, gave him money (they've bailed him out in the past for heinous crimes, including child rape), and helped him elude the police. Hell, I can't understand it. I'm more disgusted the more details I read.
Most of us in this black blogosphere have been railing against the kind of black folks that rape and destroy their communities, families and their surroundings for some time. You're not going to question my reasons unless you're ultra sensitive and projecting. You don't necessarily question Rippa or The Field Negro when they rip into animals like Clemmons on the regular.
Is it then okay for white bloggers and commentators to voice their opinions on the "Tragic Negroes" screwing things up for the rest of us (seriously, they were stopping black men trying to catch this perp)? Or will they never be privy to these types of discussions?

A Time to Kill: Enraged father shoots and kills his 15yr old son in the back of the head execution style
I don't know what the fuck is really going on anymore. We have a 5yr old girl found dead in North Carolina who was sold into prostitution by her mother, and her no count fuckin' boyfriend, and now this shit:
Now I don't know how true that might be, but like I said, it's the word on the streets. I've heard people say that they would do to someone who rapes or harms one of their own. But after reading about this one, I'd hate to believe that a person would have the heart to knowingly do something like this while in the right frame of mind. I know for the most part people talk shit, but is there ever a time to kill? I don't know what's worse, the actions of this man, or the people who on the news site who feel he's justified in doing what he did.

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Police said a father fatally shot his 15-year-old son in the back of the head Monday in Highland Park after they got into an argument. When I read this story, like you, I was completely at a loss for words. What argument does a father have with his son that motivates him to shoot him in the back of the head executioner style? I mean seriously, what the fuck did this kid do to warrant this action? Well, according to the word on the street in Detroit, via the commentary on the news website. It was said that the father walked in on his 15yr old having sex with his 3yr old sibling.
Jamarr Pinkney, Jr. was shot in a field in the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and North Street around 2:15 p.m., said police. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
Police have confirmed that the shooting was a result of an argument between the father and son.
Witnesses at the scene told Local 4 that they saw Jamarr Pinkney, Sr. order the naked teen out of the home and to an empty field.
A woman, who did not want her identity revealed, told Local 4 what she saw.
"He brought him out the house, he walked him over there and said, 'Get on the ground' and he's like, 'No daddy, no daddy' and next thing you know, he grabbed his head and he shot him," said the witness.
The witness said the father calmly got into his vehicle and drove away.
"He was calm and drove off like a regular person, like he didn't do anything, and I am like, 'wow,'" said the witness.
Police were looking for the father after he fled the area, but he was caught a few hours later.
"Whatever my grandson did there, there is nothing in this world that was worth taking his life. He got him down on his knees and killed him," said the boy's grandfather, who did not want his face on camera.
The teenager's aunt Yolanda Cherry told Local 4 the fight happened inside her home.
"He beat my nephew real bad in the head wher he had knots like he had been in a boxing ring," said Cherry.
When Cherry tried to intervene, she said the father pulled out a gun.
"I ran down the street to get police down here and I heard a gun shot," said Cherry.
Jamarr was a sophomore at Martin Luther King High School. Family members said he was active in sports.
Now I don't know how true that might be, but like I said, it's the word on the streets. I've heard people say that they would do to someone who rapes or harms one of their own. But after reading about this one, I'd hate to believe that a person would have the heart to knowingly do something like this while in the right frame of mind. Super-Predators: Should juvenile offenders be sentenced to life in prison? Supreme Court to decide
Nelson Mandela once said “It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.” I guess with 1% percent of our population currently incarcerated one could say that all is well in our nation. After all, it’s only 1% - a very small number. Sure, who cares that our jails and prison population just happens to lead that of any country in the free world - uh-huh, that’s right, pun intended.
Yeah I know, you really don’t care because, well, as long as they’re locked away your world seems a bit safer, right? Yep, as long as you or your kids are safe is all that matters, right? Well if I tell you that currently there’s an estimated 2,570 juveniles serving life without parole in America today, how would that make you feel? Would that number also seem small and insignificant so as to not warrant any concern?
OK, screw the numbers, let’s put a face to this:
So how did it get this way? Well, somewhere in the mid 90s when our first Black president Bill Clinton was in office, state and federal legislators created policy irrationally motivated by fear - which in turn was federally signed by Clinton - to address a perceived new wave of crime. Crimes that were committed by what political scientist John DiIulio (a Neo-Conservative Bush-ite) termed “super-predators”. Yep, Clinton had Black people happy alright. Not only did he give them jobs, legislation he signed helped to throw a bunch of them in prison.
The only juveniles we hear about doing crazy sh*t are white kids!
I realize that’s the perception, but just like the obvious reality that is the racial disparities with incarcerations in America. One wouldn’t be off target suggesting that the same is true when it comes to juvenile offenders and life sentences. As a matter of fact, according to a 2005 report from Human Rights Watch, black youth receive life without parole at a rate about 10 times greater than the rate of white youth. Hmm, imagine that; yeah, things don't look too good for those kids in Chicago that killed Derrion Albert. As a matter of fact, the kids involved in the Jonesboro Arkansas school shooting from 1998 are out of prison after serving time as we speak; one of them was just released last month. If only those kids in Chi-town would be so privileged.
The way I see it RiPPa these kids are monsters and should pay!
Yeah, I realize that’s often the attitude when it comes to crime and punishment. Yep, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time is what they always say, right? Heck, there are people among us who believe in the age old biblical idea of an eye for an eye. That said, why don’t we just go right ahead and kill these little monsters. Surely that would save tax payers a lot of money doing so, right? Uh-huh why waste time with any attempts at rehabilitation; these kids are beyond repair. I mean that was the idea pushed by conservative policy makers back in the 90s, right?

Understanding the Culture of Violence in America: The Death of Derrion Albert
Hopefully after reading this post you're able to look at this issue differently. To do so, I suggest taking the time to view the following videos starting with this one:So everyone has heard the story - or watched the video - of 16yr old Derrion Albert savagely beaten to death in Chicago. In my opinion, I don’t know if the video or the knee jerk reactions to it was more appalling. I’m sorry and I apologize if that last line offended anyone, but it’s just the way I see it. I’m disappointed that a young man had his life cut short in the manner he did, but I’m not angry. Am I a bad person for not being angered by this incident? No. Am I apathetic because I’m not as “enraged” as some people claim to be? Of course not, but some may think that I am. But hey, the cynic in me tells me that this “rage” will quickly disappear as it did after the Oscar Grant incident earlier this year. Everybody was mad then after watching the video of him being killed by a police officer, but no such rage at the fact that currently murder charges against said officer might be dropped.
If you ask me, it is this very “anger” which is essentially a part of the problem. Let’s be honest, Derrion Albert wasn’t killed because people were “Steppin’ in the name of love,” in the streets of Chicago. I say that because I doubt he was caught up in the midst of two separate but very happy groups of teenagers. Real talk: How do we solve problems if angry? When has anything positive ever developed from a position of anger? Shouldn’t this be yet another albeit teachable moments as it relates to conflict resolution? Ironically, it is this “anger” which has fueled some of the most unproductive discussions and commentary surrounding this incident and the blame game.
So in the spirit of “community” where community exists only when there is real commitment to go beyond rhetoric, beyond the limitations of tolerance, beyond the accusations, attacks and suspicions often experienced when people try to talk through the tough issues. I offer some Socratic questioning in an attempt to provoke rational thought and hopefully move towards solutions.
1) Bad Parenting: I’ve heard it said that what happened to Derrion is a resut of bad parenting. How can one watch the video of this or read about this story and come to this conclusion? Were there parents at the scene acting as agitators and or instigators? I’m sorry, but unless that was the case, I’m not buying that “bad parenting” cliché explanation. If you feel differently than I, feel free to explain that one to me in your commentary. And please give me more than that “babies raising babies” talk. All in all people, the problem here as I see it is violence in America; yes, we live in a violent nation. Is it any surprise that a country that was birthed through violence, where people are comfortable packing guns to political town hall meetings, and creating “Should Obama be Killed” polls on Facebook that these type of incidents occur? Derrion was caught up between an incident which involved two rival groups – you know that same “mob mentality” currently occupying our national political discourse? But hey, I guess that’s to be expected when the country you love has, is and will always be the biggest bully in the world community. Yeah, mobs and gangs have long been a part of American culture; why worry about violence here when this country exercises its “violent will” on other people and other cultures abroad.
2) Absentee Black Fathers: Yet another one of those silly arguments to explain this incident. Can anyone prove to me that every single solitary soul involved in that melee came from single parent homes? Again, I’m sorry, but Black people, as a people we need to stop believing the hype as we’re fed by the media. Using absentee fathers as an excuse negates this being a teachable moment as far as personal responsibility and consequences in my opinion. Absentee Black fathers may be a problem in itself. But let’s not use this incident as one of those soapbox moments to promote Black fatherhood when it is not known whether it's even a contributing factor in this instance. If that's what you think to be a contributing factor in this and all instances of violence, pay attention to the last video.
3) Hip Hop: Let’s see, Hip Hop as we know it in the mainstream has been around how long? I don’t know, but I seriously doubt whether it has been around as long as Black on Black violence and crime has, no? Hell, a White rapper was just arrested for murder a couple of weeks ago. How come nobody submitted Hip Hop to be the causation of his crime which had multiple victims? Do we blame, or are other musical genres the motivation behind acts of crime committed by non-minorities? But hey, we can debate that issue in the commentary as well; actually being a Hip Hop head I welcome that debate. Shit, I know plenty of cats my age who love Mobb Deep's “Shook One's PT. II” who have yet to just lose it causing the end to the life of an individual.
4) The Black Culture of Violence: I know and understand Black on Black crime is an issue itself. But, why make this incident, or use similar incidents to give the perception that “it’s a Black thing”? Correct me if I’m wrong, but is there something in the DNA of people of African descent that predisposes them to violent crime? I’m just curious, but isn’t crime – be it violent or not – a problem throughout society that affects us all negatively? Why then see it as another one of those Black problems? Also, I’d like to take the time to remind people that gang culture has always existed in this country, and that the U.S. Gov’t did not create Ricco law statutes to take down the Bloods and the Crips. Yes, there is a pathology associated or attached to Black folks which directly impacts behavior. But how can we challenge this issue without tying it in to a larger societal problem?
What’s sad to me Black people, is that we view Derrion’s demise within the “Black community” to be tragic but yet accept or are apathetic towards the culture of violence within our country at large. Hell, a White kid was beaten on a school bus recently by a group of Black kids, but yet I didn’t hear this much “rage” from the Black community. Lemme guess, he lived, so it was no big deal, right? But since I’m trying to offer solutions I’ll ask: how can we stop the violence when we all live or are a part of a larger society within which such behavior is commonplace and not addressed?
Let the healing begin after this video:

If Only We Could Be Spearchuckers Again
Way back in the day, well before we were known as Niggers, Negroes, and subsequently African Americans, we were known as Spearchuckers. It was meant as a derogatory term as did most other terms used to describe Blacks of African descent in America. But you know what? I do not think Spearchucker is a bad term. Actually, I wish we were Spearchuckers today, or rightfully called that in a literal sorta way.Ok, bear with me as I explain. You see, way back when, when Africans lived on that other planet called Africa, we carried spears as a weapon, right? I was not there, but I suspect, that back in the day in Africa, a Black man without a spear was as worthless as a Black man without a job and unable to pay his child support today. Yup, possessing a spear was important, without it, there was no food, or means of defending the homies in your crew from some other crew that claimed to either be a Crips or Bloods, or whatever. Plus, I seriously doubt the chicks took a Black man without a spear seriously. I mean, why would she if he cannot even bring home a rhino or elephant periodically, right?
Some where along the line, some White guy decided to show up in his space ship on planet Africa. Being from another world, and not knowing what he would run into, he carried with him what was known as a gun. And you know what happened? The White guy being forever the forward thinker, decided to trade his guns for a few Africans (who were sitting in the county jail) to give them their freedom to come help said White guys tend to his flower garden. Was not that so nice of the White guy who landed on planet Africa? Of course the ever so curious African do-gooders accepted the guns as bail money. Yup, and the rest is history as they say.
This is why I always say that the gun, is worst invention known to man. Yup, Africans got guns in exchange for other Africans. Then, they put down their spears, (which made it even easier to be kidnapped) and now White people are using spears in a Olympic sport called the Javelin. Ain't that a bitch? And now here we are centuries later, Black people here in America are killing one another in record numbers every year by using a guns.If we Black people of African descent here in America had spears, there would more than likely be less murders or Black on Black crime. I mean lets face it, the Bloods & Crips in Africa never really ran around doing throw bye's, and killing innocent bystanders like they used to do out in L.A. back in the 90's did they? Seewhumsayin? I mean, just keeping it real, a spear is kinda hard to hide and tuck into the small of your back under a jacket.
Seriously, I think it would be quite uncomfortable to carry a concealed spear. Yeah, you just cannot expect to sneak a spear up in the club, and shit just like that. Are you crazy? And what would that mean for the Black community? Less Black on Black crime, or in particular murders. Not just that, but less cops harassing Blacks like they do looking for guns. Yup, no more racial profiling and all of that racial shit, and we would all be able to live in peace and harmony. Yes, life in America would be different for us folks of African descent if they had just left their guns at home. Now all we have to do is figure out how all these guns get onto our streets everyday.
Can you take a guess how they do?
