The Revolution Will Be Blogged: Black Bloggers' Protests Help Shut Down Scientifically Racist Research

Satoshi Kanazawa can kick rocks and kiss every black woman's arse. Skadaddle!
by Eco.Soul.Intellectual
Black Bloggers who addressed and shut down the insidious racist and demeaning pseudo-scientific research by evolutionary psychologist, Satoshi Kanazawa, should be proud of themselves. Kanazawa published an article exploring why "Black Women are Less Attractive" on Psychology Today several weeks ago, and was justly met with harsh criticism and opposition.

On Friday, Psychology Today issued a formal apology stating that:

We deeply apologize for the pain and offense that this post caused. Psychology Today's mission is to inform the public, not to provide a platform for inflammatory and offensive material. Psychology Today does not tolerate racism or prejudice of any sort.
Soon after the post on Psychology Today, the well-established publication had to pull the article due to the flood of comments and emails sent by people all over the world. It was after the criticism did they decide to review the research only find out, that measuring beauty is a subjective process, and could never be objective.

No shit? You are still fucking idiots.

A Plea To Black Blogs and Media: Leave Kat Stacks Alone

By Seattle Slim

I don't want to get into too many tawdry details, because they are so many when it comes to Kat Stacks that it's hard to keep up. If you don't know who she is, I consider you blessed because it probably means you haven't been caught up in the wasteland that glorified and dehumanized this girl all for some piddly little internet celebrity. For those of us who have visited black celebrity blogs to pass the time, then I am sure you know who this gal is.

Quite frankly, the fact that she mentioned that she slept with Lil' Wayne got her some notoriety on the white blog circuit for a minute, but when she went to slightly less relevant rap cats, it was a wrap. White folks know a Drake, Jay-Z, and Lil' Wayne. They don't know--and I'm sure most of us discerning black folk don't either--what or who a Lil' Twist is or even what a Young Money is save for its two highly irritating "stars" Nicki Minaj and Drake.

Kat Stacks first got what seemed like everyone's attention when she released videos to the coonery propaganda machine that is WorldStarHipHop.com. She even set up a website and twitter (none of which I will link here because it's just not what she needs right now) to further her "groupie" career. She regaled us with tales of tawdry sex--hell, even prostitution--with rappers, both relevant and hopelessly irrelevant. She wasn't kind about it either. She was very biting and naturally, that wouldn't fly with these damned near feral commercial rap cats. Some guys kept it classy--I guess--and others took it further.

Right before Memorial Day weekend, she was attacked at a club by two to three black men, one of them affiliated with rappers Bow Wow and Fabolous. She was beaten and then grabbed like she were a common whore who offended her pimp or her john, and told to apologize to the camera. It was hard to watch and I got angry. I was angry at her but I was livid at these cowards who would attack a woman.

As you can see, nothing has changed. Many Twitter beefs later, she found herself once again at the end of a jumping and beatdown/attack, this time by goonettes who told her to say that she lied. Several black blogs ran with it, and while I can't be too harsh (they're just trying to make a buck), I am tired of seeing it. This is, simply put, wrong; this is immoral in the level of lechery it's reached.

One person commented, "Why are there always cameras present?" I have to ask myself if this person has forgotten that they are living in the 21st century. Cell phones, most of them armed with cameras, are everywhere. Couple that with people who are thirsty enough to want a filthy 15 minutes of fame on sites like WorldStarHipHop.com and other black blogs, instantly you have televised beatdowns of a helpless woman who is by herself.

I don't care if this is real or not. I don't care if it's staged or not. Both are problematic. Both are disgusting. Both show a side of our youth and ourselves--particularly our community at least from cyberspace--that is ugly and vile and obsessed with schadenfreude. Some of us are so dark in our hearts from years of abuse, mental and/or physical, that we say that we don't care because she's a "whore" and a "slut" and she put herself in those situations.

If this is real, we are seeing someone who is obviously on some substance (and she has admitted that she has a criminal record--proof was online--and that she has mental issues as well) or in a very dark, horrible place. If this is an act, then she's the only one laughing, and so are her lackeys, because she has managed to elicit hate from the young black collective or misguided appreciation for her antics.

I'm not saying that Kat needs to be praised for being irresponsible, indiscreet and possibly an unfit mother. Promiscuity for the fuck of it is not something to be praised or admired. It's fucking with no discernment. But I don't think that our disdain for her lifestyle, real or fake, should ever warrant a chorus welcoming and praising her dismantling on camera.

So this is my appeal to the black blog heavyweights out there. Please do not engage. PLEASE leave Kat Stacks alone. When a video pops up on Twitvid or WSHH or Youtube or wherever, leave it alone. Don't even open it, and if you do, please don't post it. Let her disappear because as long as you keep broadcasting, people will keep watching, and Kat will be beaten, attacked and possibly seriously injured, if not killed.

If this is fake, really leave it alone. Is this the kind of production we need to be supporting? We can't even get good, in-depth movies or television shows about black people save a handful, and then we complain, but yet still Kat Stacks gets thousands upon thousands of views, and no one asks to boycott her?

Is it worth making a buck off of someone's problems? Remember, Kat Stacks is a pseudonym for a woman that is a mother. She is troubled. She is not right within, fake or not faked. Would you have liked to be filmed at the lowest point in your life? Would you have liked to be exposed to all so your faults, and we all have them, could be critiqued by people who don't know you?

Yes, she is putting out videos. Yes, she is talking shit. And? How does the old saying go? "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"  Let her talk to herself so that maybe she can stop to hear herself when you ae no longer listening.  Hopefully then, she will be able to focus on the fact that what she's really saying in her videos is "I need help.  Validate me because I don't love myself enough to do so."

Harold Ford Jr. potentially running for New York senate seat: Can a black politician with a white wife get elected?

“The Black masses must demand and refuse to accept nothing less than that proportionate share of political jobs and appointments which are equal to their proportion in the electorate.” - Congressman Adam Clayton Powell

Yesterday I woke up to Morning Joe on MSNBC to hear that my man Harold Ford Jr. is considering running for a senate seat in a New York district. As a New York transplant currently living in Memphis TN., his hometown, I thought it to be a good move for several reasons. Some of you may not be up on the brother, but if you remember the midterm election in 2006. The GOP's racist tactics as he ran for the senate against Bob Corker in his home state of Tennessee, played heavily into the campaign; enough so, to create controversy nationally.

Renting space in Aunt Esther's head (UPDATED)

Well it would seem that April Ryan isn't so bad after all. In my last post I discussed the recent skirmish she had with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. In that post in my commentary my position was that she had the wrong approach with her line of questioning. Well, it's good to know that April is woman enough to admit that she was wrong in the way she handled the situation:

Well, don't tell that to my good friend Renee author of the blog Womanist Musings who actually was the focus of my last blog and not April Ryan. You see, just like I mentioned in that post about people missing the message because they're more focused on shooting the messenger? Renee did just that as I expected. Yes, she took the bait hook line and sinker with my last post as I designed. Yep, and did she ever! Today I was the subject of her blog once again...

READ: When Black Men and White Men Partner in Sexism

You see, Renee has a problem when it comes to communication as do many people. I've pointed this out to her in a recent exchange on my blog and on Twitter, but me having a penis, she didn't take to my advice about her approach. Like April Ryan above, she occasionally visits this blog and unappropriately engages with me (and other commenters) as she pushes "her agenda" and derails the conversation piece of the post at hand - she has done this on more than one occasion. Rarely has she ever showed up here and commented on anything without championing her womanist battle cry. Which is funny because what she does here, you're not allowed to do at her blog without being threatened to be banned from commenting on her blog ever again.

But I forgot, unlike my blog, hers has standards as she told one commenter.

Oh, so not only is Van Jones a communist, he's a sellout because his wife is white?

Whenever someone white speaks from a position of ignorance on race matters it's to be expected. You know that whole white privilege thing does that; and, it's understandable. But when a person of color, or more specifically, a Black m*thafucka who's supposed to be "conscious" speaks ignorantly on race matters and assumes the stance as if they themselves exude the very inescapable privilege of non-minorities? Yeah, it's a damn shame and it's enough to make a dead slave cry. Actually, it's a form of projecting what's known as internalized oppression/racism. It's the reason we see the Jesse Lee Peterson's of the world. Of course I understand the pathology associated with this mindset. But yet and still, I can't help but to shake my head in disgust at such people.

The last thing I wanted to do today was to even follow up on the latest goings on concerning Van Jones and his resignation as Obama's White House Energy advisor. But there are two misguided Negroes who have forced my hand [you can read them here and here]. Ironically, they're both Black women. One of them is an ultra conservative/republican, and from her, given that fact, I can see her relish in the moment of this being a small victory for the conservative/republican movement. The other, I don't even know what she is - she says she hates socialism which is welfare and Section 8 - but she's supposed to be "conscious" and has all the answers which explains the social ills of Black people. Somehow for the most part, the predication for these problems are not racial ones, but instead the failures of Black men; yeah, there's no correlation between racism and the exclusive "problems" seen in the Black community.

I guess then it's no surprise that she doesn't see the racial component as it relates to highly successful Black people in the political arena [read about Lani Guinier back in trhe 90s]. Nah, it's never about race; not hardly ever in her eyes. Instead, she questions Van Jones' commitment to the Black community and change because he's married to a white woman:

Then there is the little issue of Van Jones' personal life. For those of you who don't know Mr. Jones married a white woman. I don't understand how anyone can be a black nationalist one minute and marry an individual who is white the next. I'm willing to bet anything that Mr. Jones is one of these individuals (like Eldridge Cleaver) who blames the white man for all or most his troubles while desiring to sex white women. His stand against whites is (or was) more than likely one sided. He doesn't see white women as a problem in terms of white supremacy or the oppression of black people. No...he simply views the white man as the only member of white America prompting oppression.

I've said it before and I will say it again...I don't think it's possible for a black person who marries white to totally be down with the cause. There is a conflict of interest there. I don't think someone claiming to have the best interest of black people at heart can rightfully say so while married to someone who is white (in this country). Naturally these individuals are sympathetic to the needs of their spouse and those who look like them. This in my opinion conflicts with their interest of being a black nationalist.

How the hell can you be a black nationalist and not be down for creating more black people??? How the hell can you be a black nationalist and accept a member of the "oppressor's" family into your bed??? It makes no sense to me. If he was so sick of being oppressed and so down for the people he wouldn't lay up with a white woman. Perhaps this is why he moved his attention away from civil rights and on to environmental issues.

Sounds like words from a person who is completely "down" for the cause that is the advancement of the interests of people of color right? You know, those people who claim to be Blacker than thou because, well, their shit is so correct? You know, that whole "throw your Black fist in the air, power to the people" and all that other "I'm so down," bullshit? Yeah, that's the impression you get from this Black woman, right?

What about the "green" jobs Van Jones planned to create in the ghetto? Why in the hell do we as black people look to the national government to help us do what we're suppose to do? What's stopping black folks from creating their own "green" jobs? I will never understand why we can't do for ourselves as a people. You want jobs in the hood get off your ass and create them yourselves. Start a business. Help someone else start a business. Stop looking to others to lead you and start leading yourselves. Don't put your hopes in the hands of others. It only leads to failure.

Understand me when I say this....I'm not going to jump to the defense of someone simply because he or she shares my skin color. If their ideologies conflict with my own then we have a problem. It should NOT be expected of me to jump to the defense of those I don't agree with. There is no way in hell I would agree with Mr. Jones given his shady past. He is far too radical for my taste.
Isn't that the most ignorant thing you've read today? For the life of me I can't understand the idea that Black people automatically defend other Black people because they share the same skin color. To be honest, I never knew there were Black people who took to this practice. But beyond that, in a country where environmental racism intentionally persists, you're expecting Green Jobs to trickle down to urban communities on it's own? Hello, are we forgetting that the national unemployment rate is at a 26yr high? Or maybe in her hubris she doesn't realize that the unemployment rate for Blacks is currently the highest of any ethnic/racial group in this country? Yeah, be that as it may, I guess the idea of creating Green Jobs "in the hood," as the says is sacrosanct. But yet she's so down for "HER" people? Get the fuck outta here. I'm sorry, this isn't "Black Conscious Thought" as is the name of her blog. This is utter foolishness, and dare I say Slave Catcher behavior. It's a good thing there are people in Nashville TN. right up the road from me who are down for their people unlike her. These are people currently working towards making Nashville the Greenest city in the southwest as they create jobs, with the help of the organization Green For All -- an organization started by Van Jones in 2007 [read it here].

Just the idea alone that Jones is a sellout because he's married to a white woman is pathetic me. Yes, lets not look at his body of work which by the way, has a lot to do with disenfranchised, poor people than anything else. Does that make him a "Black Nationalists"? I'm just saying, did Jones ever label himself a "Black Nationalist" or was it Glenn Beck who did as a means of scaring the tin-foil hat wearing following he has? You know all one has to do is appeal to the ignorance of some by contending that a Black man is a supremacist and he wants to take away America from white folks, right? Yeah, Black supremacy bad, white supremacy not so much. Like I said, it's one thing to hear this drivel coming from non-minorities, but when it's coming from fellow people of color it's disheartening.

But I guess there were never white people who were "down for the cause," that is the social and economic advancement of people of color. Yeah, history lied to us when they told us that the first president of the NAACP was a Jew, or that the abolitionist movement was largely comprised of white people. Where would we be as a country if it were not for the non-minorities who were brave enough to step up and do what was right? Yeah, where would we be if those non-minorities who share the same skin color as Van Jones' wife never sold out? It's just as sad that there are Black people here in the year 2009 who are just as blissfully ignorant, and bigoted as the white folks who have bought and sold the idea of white supremacy. But hey, they called Martin Luther King Jr. a communist just like they did Van Jones, and like him he had a dream so go figure. I don't expect the majority of white folks to "get it" like my fellow Tennessee native Tim Wise does in this piece. But it's a damn shame when supposedly "conscious" Black people are now doing the work of the devil.

She had sex with the social worker to make sure Child Protective Services would let her keep her kids

OK listen folks - ladies especially - we got some shit to talk about (hat-tip to African American Political Pundit for this one). Yeah I know y'all stuck on that "Real Housewives of Atlanta" bullshit drama (yeah, I got something for their ass coming soon), but it's time to talk about some real stuff for a change. Recently I read a post at a blog on my very first visit that moved me. The blog is Just Jo Nubian, and the post is titled Brothers Remove Your Masks. I've shined some spotlight on this post because it deals with the subject of mental health in the Black community. Now the post speaks specifically about Black men. But since we're all unified (minus the "I hate Black men so I bash them every chance I can get" bitches), I think it's important to understand, that a substantial amount of behavioral "problems" within our collective, is a direct result of what I term: brain damage.

You know, sorta like the lady crying in the picture above? Her name is Theola Nealy, and she lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and no, she's not crying because she misses the sitcom "Laverne & Shirley". You see, she was under investigation by social services for alleged child neglect; she had two kids at the time. Of course, a state employed social worker was assigned to her case (thank the lord that there is still money in state gov't to pay hard working social workers) with the interest of her children in mind. Don't you love the idea that there's a system in place which protects children by any means necessary? You know, especially how they did in this woman's case?

A social worker who was supposed to be helping a Milwaukee woman got her pregnant instead, the woman said. Now, she's fighting to get her daughter back. The baby's father was assigned to investigate a child neglect complaint about the woman's other children.

The agency said the social worker broke rules by having sex with a client and but then placed the child with him after they removed the baby from her mother's home.

"I missed her birthday. He had her," Theola Nealy said. Nealy's daughter, Melina, turned 1 year old in the custody of her former child welfare worker, who is also the baby's father. "He started coming over, and it evolved into sex, and I told him I did not want to have sex," Nealy said.

Nealy said she had sex with the social worker to make sure Child Protective Services would let her keep her kids. She said when she became pregnant, he told her to have an abortion. After she refused, Protective Services soon removed her kids from her home. [click here to read more and watch the video on this story]
Well isn't that just wonderful? I've heard that the post man always rings twice, but not the social worker? Sure I know to many of you reading, this woman is probably just another "Welfare Queen" sitting on her ass making babies and getting fat. But would we be hard pressed to consider her mental state? I don't know if it's done or not, but don't you think a mental evaluation should be considered for parents investigated for child neglect? Of course I'm assuming that it's never done. But in the interest of children, shouldn't it be? Especially when we're trying to break cycles of learned behavior?

So now she doesn't have any of her kids - including the baby who was taken away and given to "Mister Horny Predator Social Worker Guy" who is taking her to court to obtain full custody of the child. Now ain't that a slap in the face? I guess he really cares about kids now, considering he has lost his job as a result of his actions. Some people are of the opinion that a crime was committed. But I'm not sure if betrayal of trust is actually a crime these days in this country. Sure he compromised his integrity, and that of the state; and yes, he may have taken advantage of a poor Black woman. But in this country were there's a high price to pay for being poor, this is to be expected. But it's my belief that this gentleman should never be allowed to work for any governmental agency in life ever again. I'd sure love to hear your thoughts on that. Or whether his actions were criminal and deserves jail time as Theola Nealy believes.

The real tragedy here, is that she is now separated from her children. Who knows if she'll be able to get them back. What's sad is that in her mind she did what she had to do for her kids. It may not have been the best decision in the world sleeping with her case worker. But hey, when it comes to your kids, most parents will do what they have to do. To me, the real f*cked up person in the head, is in fact the social worker. But I get the feeling that as always, it's the victim who will bear the brunt of the responsibility, and scrutiny. Hopefully her children doesn't wind up in the care of the system through Foster Care. If they do, speaking of mental health issues, hopefully this doesn't happen to them:

Sandra Rose is a Slave Catcher - according to her, Black folks don't read. We may not, but we sure do know ugly. And you ma'am are ugly!

So I'm sitting at the PC enjoying a lazy Saturday afternoon as I spend time on Twitter. Its been quite some time since I've actually spent any time on there and actually tweet. Lately I've been more of a voyer in that regard, but today was different. I was having a great time sending out pearls of wisdom tweets which leaned heavy on the sarcastic, and having conversations with some really cool people.

While doing so, I was observing the chatter coming from conservatives about Obama, and health care reform. I even followed a link one of them put out to an article that insinuates that health care reform was Obama's cleverly designed reparations policy for Black people [read it here]. Yeah, they suggested that health care reform was indeed another Affirmative Action policy. Yeah I know, I wanted to throat-chop the person who wrote that article. Reparations? Imagine that?

So anywhichaways, I'm having a good time going back and forth with people having great exchanges and conversation. It was then that I noticed Sandra Rose, a supposed A-List blogger tweeting and throwing some serious daggers at Barack Obama and his policies. I even questioned her on one of them and she never responded. No big deal; she doesn't know me nor do I know her; so, she doesn't owe me anything. She continues on her tweet rants and clearly as evidenced by what she was saying, she's believeing all the misinformation, and disinformation concerning the proposed bill. Then she went on to say this, or send out this tweet:

@SandraRose: I would post more links exposing the ObamaCare fraud, but as you know, black people don't read.
Hold up, is this famed Celegrity Gossip Blogger asserting that Black people don't read? Really? I'm sorry, but for a Black person to espouse such vitriol is slave catcher behavior to me. Lemme guess: Black people don't read anything but bullshit celebrity gossip, right? Either that or all of her readers are white? I know this wench didn't forget her color. Now you know that's not it because when you look at her pic she clearly is Black. I'm guessing she's forgotten that. Yeah, she has obviously forgotten that she looks like Ms. Jane Pittman mixed with Celie from The Color Purple, and a splash of Meerkat. Period point blank it gets no Blacker or uglier than that, but my guess is that she was projected some of her self hatred.

Look, I don't care about how she feels about Obama or his policies. She could be a House Negress for all I care. But when you have the nerve to say some shit like that, you're actually a part of the problem. And that would be the obvious problem of Blacks being percieved as intellectually inferior; yeah, you know that old racist ideological stereotypical bullshit? Here's an idea; how about if all of those non-reading Black people stop visiting your site Sandra. Yeah, how about that? How about you lose
generated ad revenue by those non-reading Black folks' refusal to show up on your blog. Silly rabbit, you wouldn't be who you are if Black people didn't read.

Listen, talking shit and hatin' on celebrities is one thing. Hell, if 50 Cent could do it and get rich, I guess she can too. But does her spirit have to be as ugly as her face? Yes, if she wasn't a hater she'd still be ugly, but people would overlook that because the true beauty of a person is what's inside of their hearts. But I'm sorry Sandra, being an ugly slave catching hater is not a good look. It may make you money doing what you do - blogging professionally that is. But at the end of the day, it is you who has to go to bed by your damn self; and you know why? Because they say God doesn't like ugly, and you my sister are an ugly duckling (literally) who is just a tad bit bitter because you'll never be a swan.

Hopefully unlike Black people she's able to read this.

Mississipi Burning? The KKK wasn't that bad, were they??

My favorite blog superhero of all time, as well as fellow AfroSpear member, Field Negro, lives in Philadelphia. His blog is a blog I recommend you read daily, and add to you blogroll. He is a champion for truth, justice and the Negro-American way, among other things. Yes, he is quite the provocateur, and I love it.

On his page, on his sidebar, he features a "Field Negro of the Day" as well as a "House Negro of the Day" award. Sometimes I hit his blog just to see who he has featured in these categories. These awards are often well deserved, and sometimes I get a good laugh out of them. Seriously folks, Field Negro is hilarious and committed like that to the cause. Which is really funny because he's a damn attorney; yup, attorneys are often boring; the ones I know at least. Somehow, I'm surprised that being a resident of Philadelphia, he hasn't written about this situation just yet, especially since he has written many blogs about his beloved city.

Check it out:

Oh snap! I forgot Field Negro lives in the good Philadelphia; you know that whole "City of Brotherly Love" place? Rocky? Dr. J, Philly Steaks, a cracked bell, and all that? Yeah, that's the Philly he lives in. The Philly in the clip above is the south-side Philadelphia of A-merry-ca as he often references this beloved nation of ours. Ironically, south-side Philadelphia that's featured in the video above is the same place Ronald Reagan kicked off his 1980 Presidential campaign. It is also the backdrop for the well told story of the three civil rights voter registration workers who were killed by the KKK in the movie Mississippi Burning. Yeah, given a choice, I think RiPPa would prefer to live in the Philadelphia otherwise known as Killadelphia in the state of Pistolvania. Yeah, I think I would take my chances getting shot by another person of color rather than having the KKK show up at my doorstep if my wife and I were ever to have a dispute. Something tells me that me being Black that would not be a good thing; yeah, no happy ending if that were to happen. Yup, just like there were no happy endings for the brothers when Reagan took office. After all, he was against the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

But then again, who knew the KKK had its good points! My man in the video made the KKK sound like the fuckin Lions Club or something. That old man made it seem like they gave out scholarships, loans, rides to work for people of all races and shit like that. Hell, Nino Brown passed out turkeys for Thanksgiving in New Jack City but he was still a damn drug dealer! Sorry "Mr. Former KKK Approved Mayor", I'm not buying it. The KKK was never a positive social activism club. But then again, I guess that would depend on how you look at it. Maybe we need to KKK to roll up on these dead beat dads we hear so much about with 70% of Black kids being raised in single parent homes. I mean if that was what they were about as that asshole said in the video above it couldn't hurt right? Shit, they should bring back lynchings as that one mayoral Black candidate in Jackson Mississippi suggested some months ago; it's a damn shame he lost his bid.

So what there were a few hangings and cross burnings; big deal. Just like my man Tom Joyner of the Tom Joyner Morning Show where he raises money for HBCUs, the KKK also had parties with a purpose. I don't know if Field Negro takes nomination for his sidebar awards, but I'd like to nominate everyone in that video. Yes, from the first Black mayor in Philadelphia Mississippi, Anderson Cooper for not losing his cool, and the former racist Mayor, to even the Klu Klux Klan. I'll leave it up to him if he's reading as to who gets what award. Hopefully the first Black Mayor of Philadelphia Mississippi, James A. Young, gets to be the Field Negro of the day or maybe a month. Being Black and becoming mayor in that town of all towns, in that state, speaks volumes. Though historic and symbolic an appointment as was the Obama presidential victory, we must never forget that there is still a lot of work to do ahead of us. Surely James Cheney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner would be proud that they did not die in vain.

God Bless A-merry-ca
