After Passing Nation's Toughest Immigration Law, Alabama Set To Be Whitest State

Don't look now, but if you live in the state of Alabama or just happen to be passing through, don't ever get the appitite for Mexican food, because the state has just outlawed it. OK, so I'm only kidding; but, don't be surprised if the fine folks in Alabama's state government decides to do just that eventually. After all, as of September 1st, 2011, they will have the dubious distinction of being the state with the toughest anti-immigration immigration laws. Oh you think Arizona's shenanigans were bad? Checkout what Alabama has done:
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama vaulted past Arizona on Thursday with what is being called the most restrictive law in the nation against illegal immigration, requiring schools to find out if students are in the country lawfully and making it a crime to knowingly give an illegal immigrant a ride.

Advocacy groups promised to challenge the sweeping measure, which like Arizona's law also allows police to arrest anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant if the person is stopped for some other reason. In addition, it requires all businesses to check the legal status of workers using a federal system called E-Verify.

"It is clearly unconstitutional. It's mean-spirited, racist, and we think a court will enjoin it," said Mary Bauer, legal director for the Southern Poverty Law Center.

It takes effect Sept. 1.

Republican Gov. Robert Bentley, who signed it into law Thursday, expressed confidence it would withstand any legal challenges.

"We have a real problem with illegal immigration in this country," he said. "I campaigned for the toughest immigration laws, and I'm proud of the Legislature for working tirelessly to create the strongest immigration bill in the country."

Alabama has an estimated 120,000 illegal immigrants, a nearly fivefold increase from a decade ago, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. Many of them are believed to be working on farms, at chicken processing plants and in construction.

One of the legislation's sponsors, GOP Sen. Scott Beason, said it would help the unemployed by preventing illegal immigrants from getting jobs in the state. Alabama's unemployment rate stood at 9.3 percent in April, the most recent figure available.

"This will put thousands of Alabamians back in the work force," Beason said.
I don't know just the estimated legal workforce population in the state of Alabama. However, the total population of the state is somewhere around 5 million according to data from the Census Bureau's 2009 figures. That would mean, that there must be a lot of people not able or allowed to work (you know, like those fat rednecks riding those hoverounds at Walmart) if 120,000 undocumented workers have stolen all the jobs. Either that or their weren't enough jobs to begin with down in good Ole Alabama.

Arizona Bans Affirmative Action: One Step Closer to Whitopia

Being of Afro-Caribbean descent, and an immigrant to the United States, it's been pretty tough to watch the apathy of African Americans on the issue of immigration reform. Yeah I know the brown man came here voluntarily to work for a quarter while black folks were brought here against their will to work for free for 500yrs. While it's easy to make that distinction as justification, it's still a foolish one in my opinion.

I remember not too long ago when black folks were saying that Arizona's SB1070 anti-immigration bill wasn't our fight. Surely you remember the then hot button issue that was Arizona and it's quest to become the Whitopia of America because there were no cotton fields in the desert back in the day.

Well, I wonder what those very same black folks have to say today, now that Arizona has voted to ban Affirmative Action? Yep, guess what, black people? It's not all about those "criminal" Latinos.

This from insidehighered.com:
Voters in Arizona on Tuesday approved Proposition 107 banning the consideration of race, ethnicity or gender by units of state government, including public colleges and universities. With 2,075 of 2,239 precincts reporting as of early Wednesday morning, the measure had just under 60 percent support in unofficial state results.

Arizona joins California, Michigan, Nebraska and Washington State in imposing such bans. Only Colorado rejected a similar ban in a statewide vote. In the states of California and Michigan, the bans led to sharp drops in the admission and enrollment of black and Latino students at flagship universities, although those institutions have made progress since the initial votes in diversifying their student bodies through race-neutral methods. In those states, however, undergraduate admission to the state universities is highly competitive.

In Arizona, a populist approach to admissions means that all students who meet certain criteria are admitted – without consideration of race or ethnicity. As a result, university officials have said that undergraduate enrollments should not be affected. However, Arizona's universities – like most institutions – have many programs for minority students, some of which could be challenged. Just last August, for example, Arizona State University announced new summer fellowships in digital media for minority students.

Yes Sharron Angle, Everyone Looks Asian

So it's often said that all black people look alike, but of course we all know that to be untrue. Hell, as a black man I've always been told I look Asian. So see, there's no way I can possibly fit the stereotypical big nose big lip mold; and, I even have the small Asian penis to prove it. Yes Sharron, like you and the Latino students you were speaking to, I too look Asian. Not sure how; but I suppose it's something they put in the chicken fried rice.

Yes Sharron, just like black people Asians eat chicken too:

Nice one Sharron! Way to go defending yourself to those Latino students at Rancho High School for your recent campaign attack ad against Harry Reid. I mean claiming Reid to be soft on immigration might have been a good move politically. But all those poor Latino kids wanted to know was:
"Why is it that in all of your commercials you have the image of Latinos? What do you see when you hear, and I quote, 'illegal aliens?"
Now of course you could have been honest. You could have told them something that explains the racist and xenophobic nature that has been the impetus of the anti-immigrant movement. Further, you could have told them that it's important to you and the rest of the Tea Party and GOP to further polarize America. But I understand, Sharron; The truth is, you're really a nice person, and you didn't want to hurt their innocent Latino feelings.

Instead, you tell them that you're not sure just exactly what a Latino looks like. I mean there's no way they can say that the "illegal immigrants" in your campaign ads are in fact being portrayed as criminal Latinos much like they're characterized in David Vitter's campaign ad (seriously, that Vitter knows how to do the racism thing.). Instead Sharron, you tell them that they could have perceived to be Asian, just like yourself. Here's to hoping you don't meet with black students anytime soon. I'm not too sure about you pulling off looking black.

Republicans Say & Do The Darnedest Things: Meg Whitman, "Illegals", & Reparations

So last night I had a nice conversation with one of my black republican buddies; and like always, he taught me a lot. Last night I learned that the national high school drop out crisis is due in large part to the presence of "illegal immigrant" kids in the public school system.

Illegal immigrant scapegoating? Now there's a novel idea.

Now my buddy lives in California, and though I don't agree one bit with what he said. I suppose I have to give him the benefit of the doubt even if he didn't have any empirical evidence to support his claim. I mean after all, he lives in a state where there's gazillionaire running for governor who sees immigration as a problem.

You see gubernatorial candidate and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, ran a "tough on immigration" meme throughout her primary campaign. And in a recent debate with Democratic candidate Jerry Brown, she has vowed to get tougher on immigration, and crackdown on employers of illegal immigrants.

Not a bad idea when they're the reason kids are dropping out of schools, right?

Illegal Immigration is making YOUR kids FAT!!!

by Joanna (JuJuBe)

Well, you all will be happy to know that the supposed "obesity epidemic" among teenagers has NOTHING TO DO with the fact that there are fast food restaurants on just about every corner of every city in the country. It is TOTALLY UNRELATED to the ever increasing number of processed, high fat, low nutrition products available on supermarket shelves. Parents, it is NOT YOUR FAULT that your kid is getting fat, because it is has NOTHING TO DO WITH the chicken nuggets and pizza you are feeding him three meals a day Nope... the truth is... it is all the fault of..... THOSE DAMNED ILLEGALS!!!

Yes, it is true!! Those pesky Mexicans are making American kids fat!!! According the the Center for Immigration Studies, the REAL REASON kids in the US are getting fatter is because of ILLEGALS who are coming in and... gasp... mowing our lawns!! Because the truth is, mowing lawns was what was keeping American kids fit in past generations. Not running around with their friends outside! Not playing sports! Not moving, jumping and playing in real life instead of in a video game! Nope, it was MOWING LAWNS that did the trick!

A DREAM Act Deferred

I'm kinda disappointed that the blockage of Don't Ask, Don't Tell is getting more attention than the blockage of the DREAM Act which was also an amendment included in the Defense Authorization Act. Personally, I see them both as equally important, and in dire need of progressive attention.

But like always, Republicans acted as expected in the face of the upcoming 2010 midterm elections. I suppose nothing spells FREEDOM more than a vote to oppose any debate on either issue. Way to go GOP!!!

At first I was somewhat bothered by military service being one of the requirements for a path to citizenship for the approximately 2 million people who stands to benefit from the passage of the DREAM Act. But then I realized that the pursuit of a higher education was also an optional requirement.

So here's the question: if an "illegal immigrant" who was brought here as child wanted to serve the country in the military, why not allow them a path to citizenship in return? Is military service not recognized as the highest form of patriotic practice?

Barack Obama's "Illegal Alien" Aunt Speaks Out: "The System Took Advantage Of Me"

As if right on cue, with all the recent rhetoric about Barack Obama and his "Kenyan anti-Colonialist" daddy who is somehow running the country from the grave, Obama's "illegal immigrant" aunt Zeituni Onyango has crawled out from under a rock. And in no uncertain terms, she's managed to piss a few people off.

In a recent interview with a Boston's WBZ-TV's Johnathan Elias, she has managed to fire up our right-wing anti-immigration friends and neighbors. By asserting that, "the system took advantage of her," and that the United States has "the obligation to make me a citizen," she has certainly drawn much needed scrutiny of the broken system of immigration.

And you know what? The way the following interview is presented, it's understandable as to why some may be upset, and are of the opinion that her Kenyan-born nephew and illegitimate president, just might have had a hand in her being granted Asylum, and thus being allowed to lawfully remain in the country.

I Think Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Smokes Crack

No seriously, I really think she does; or at least she did before her debate the other night. Nah man, c'mon, how you gonna say I'm full of shit? You cannot tell me that her behavior in the following clip isn't crackish:

OK, so maybe that was wrong of me to suggest that she was mentally impaired as a result of drug use. Maybe what we saw above was in fact her being her; and that would be, a Republican?

There's a common axiom that suggests that one should never debate or argue with a fool. Because when you do, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. With that said, I gotta ask: did she think her opponent was hip hop sensation 50 Tyson?

Speaking of which, checkout her reaction in true republican ideologue fashion when confronted with facts. Yeah, can someone call the Wonder Pets for Jan; obviously she's an animal in "twouble" in Arizona:

Undocumented Workers: Illegal Invasion or Economic Scapegoat?

So with all this talk about a mosque being built next to strip club inside of ground zero, the immigration reform debate has been placed in the back of the minds of many (you can thank the media for that). I'll be honest, for the past week or so I haven't given the immigration debate much thought hey congress, the balls in your court). But that all changed yesterday when I heard somebody in support of the ground zero mosque being moved say:
Mexican Arab illegal immigrants are gonna sneak into the country at Ground Zero, enter into same-sex marriages all for the purpose of dropping off millions of jihadist anchor babies bent on destroying America, while they steal jobs from black people.
Yeah, sounds asstastically ridiculous, right? What can I say, even I have idiotic friends; and sometimes we share them. Well, considering the minds we're talking about that are opposed to mosques and brown skin people, I guess what is said in the following video from The Real News Network is to be expected...

Pay attention to the lady at the 1:20 mark:

Listening to the supporters of SB1070 in the above video, and the occasional idiot who shows up and comments on this blog I encounter outside of the virtual world. I realize that there's a lot of work to do to counter years of racially stereotypical disinformation fed to the masses who fail to think critically, but act on emotion with regards to a true discussion on the subject; and this, is yet one of the reasons I blog.

Now we playing Jeopardy with the police! Answer quickly or go to jail!

By guest blogger Folk
A Lake County mother was arrested at a children’s splash park after her white shirt got wet. Now, she's suing the city of Tavares over her arrest. She told WFTV police took an embarrassing situation and turned it into discrimination.

A hot day in April at the Tavares splash park turned into Janet Lovett's own personal nightmare. She took her 7-year-old son to cool off, but before the day was done she found herself behind bars, facing an arrest record for obstruction of justice and resisting arrest without violence.
Now you might ask yourself how the hell can we go from having fun at a fvcking splash park where people get fvcking wet to going to fvcking jail? Well, let's continue.
A park employee asked Lovett to leave, because the white t-shirt she was wearing had become wet and her padded bra was showing. She says she left, but outside the park gate a police officer approached her and asked her for ID and her name.

“Very scared,” she said. “I've never been arrested before."
The police report indicates Lovett didn't give her name fast enough. The mom says she was scared and wanted to know why she was getting arrested.
Her padded bra was showing?!?!? She was asked to leave from a fvcking splash park because her padded bra was showing?!?!? Really!?!?! ...and then the Police immediately ask her what is her name and ID when she is trying to go to her car to cover up because it's considered indecent that her padded bra was showing at a splash park and the po-po arrest her because she didn't answer fast enough? Really?!?! What they aren't saying is that the defendant, Lovett, is not Caucasian. She is a Peruvian native (Hispanic / Latino to "Americans")! So...
Lovett is a U.S. citizen. The charges against her have since been dropped, but she still spent five hours in jail and paid a $1,500 fine.

The city of Tavares said it does not comment on pending litigation. The police chief told WFTV his officers operated within policy that day.
So let Folk get this straight, if you don't answer a police officer "fast enough" then you can be arrested?

 WTF is this, jeapordy!?!

Wachovia & Wells Fargo Financing Mexican Drug Cartels

So he wicked witch of the west, Arizona Governor Janet Brewer, recently asserted that most illegal immigrants are drug mules. A claim that she continues to stand by, and not repudiate; even in the face of fact checking, and liberal truth.

So, since she feels that way, and well because her truth is absolute, let's take a second to look at the current problem of drug smuggling and the border. Let's take a look at how most illegal immigrants who do smuggle drugs into the country are financed:

It would be truly interesting to find out if Brewer and Co. have shares in either Wachovia or Wells Fargo. Or, any other bank for that matter; because, well, most banks finance Mexican drug cartels, right?

I mean, if what what she believes is to to be accepted as truth, doesn't it stand to reason that these banks are just as culpable in said drug smuggling? No word on if she plans to do a commercial and ask banks to do their jobs. Well, because, you know, most Republicans are hypocrites like that.

Racism Goes Paranormal: It's No Longer Racial Profiling, It's a 'Sixth Sense'

Lemme tell you something: I stay away from the paranormal shit. Not that I believe in any of it. But when someone else goes there with it? That's usually my clue to exit stage left. So now I'm conflicted because my arch-nemesis racism has decided to up his game and go all paranormal on a brotha:

Umm, how exactly are "illegal immigrants" groomed, Steve? No seriously, grooming? I mean, are you trying to say that there's a certain smell exclusive to illegal immigrants? If that's one of the "indicators" that influences the "gifted" in sniffing out illegal immigrants, I guess you're right.

Yep, there's nothing racial about that. I mean, that is if you overlook the whole "what type of accent they have," and "what type of shoes they wear," thing. I mean, it's pretty obvious that all illegal immigrants wear Nikes with the upside down swoosh from those Latin American sweatshops, right?

I swear racism gets more clever by the day.

So they're running contests to give people an opportunity to hunt down "illegals"?

So apparently the mayor of Columbus, Ohio, has pissed a few people off by proclaiming a city boycott of the great state on Arizona. This comes in wake of the recent passage of their racist anti-immigration laws.

"Well damn RiPPa, are you just gonna keep bombarding us with this immigration shit?! Is this all you are ever gonna talk about?!!"

Yes I am! As long as people don't see the need for this to be an issue; especially, a racial issue some say black folks should not concern themselves with? Um, I'm gonna have something to say about it.

Also, as long as "certain people" feel the need to dehumanize another group of people who just so happen to be born in another country? You know, like these clowns in the following story? Yes, I'll have something to say:
Immigrant groups are asking a local talk-radio station to apologize for promoting a Phoenix giveaway that it launched after Columbus' mayor suspended city travel to Arizona to protest its new immigration law.

WTVN-AM (610) promoted the giveaway as a trip to Phoenix "where Americans are proud and illegals are scared."

The contest, which ended tonight, was designed to capitalize on the maelstrom kicked up by Mayor Michael B. Coleman's decision, said WTVN program director Mike Elliott.

It was the most popular the station has had, he said. About 5,000 people entered the drawing for round-trip airfare to Phoenix, hotel accommodations, a "few pesos" and the opportunity to "spend a weekend chasing aliens and spending cash in the desert."[...]

[...] At a news conference today, Reform Immigration for America called the promotion insensitive and offensive and said it inferred a racial bias. The group supports providing documents to immigrants already living in the country without permission.

Jose Luis Mas, chairman of the Ohio Hispanic Coalition, said at the news conference that the station was inviting the contest winner to "spend a weekend hunting human beings."

"I think it's an attack on the immigrant community," said Cristina Villacinda-Farr, a 40-year-old Dublin resident who came to the states 20 years ago from Venezuela and became a citizen. Villacinda-Farr took issue with the promotion's use of the word alien. "I am an alien, but not illegal," she said. [...]

[...] Elliott said the station does not plan to apologize. He disagreed that the promotion contained racial overtones.

"It comes down to the word illegal for me. It's not a race thing. It's a legal thing," he said. "If you're breaking the law, it doesn't matter where you're from." (Source)
Listen, the late Howard Zinn once said, "The cry of the poor is is not always just, but if you don't listen to it, you will never know what justice is." From where I'm sitting, there's nothing "just" or "humane" about a contest that promotes the hunting of human beings.

But I suppose something like this is no big deal to "certain people" across the country. I mean what's the big deal, right? It's not like they hunting niggers, or anything like that, right? I suppose that if the shoe were on the other foot like in the following video, stuff like what the radio station proposes wouldn't be funny:

Mexicans are training Somali & Middle Eastern terrorists on how to look Mexican

This has to be the strangest justification ever for the need for border security along the southern border. In my opinion, it amounts to nothing but more of the same old politics of fear. A tactic that Republicans have advanced with much success under the previous administration:

I don't know, and I could be wrong, but ain't no way a Somali is going to pass him/herself off as no damn Mexican. Yeah, sure there are dark skinned Latinos; I'm not stupid, and I know that. Hell, I came up in Brooklyn, New York. But, er, um, some cat trying to sneak into the country sounding like Manute Bol trying to pass himself off as a Lucha Libre wrestler? Yeah, that one just ain't happening.

You just don't slap a Sombrero on a black dudes head and he automatically becomes a bull fighter. Now of course this throws that whole racial profiling thing in a quandary; and yes, I could understand how frustrating and embarrassing it could be for border patrol personnel, should they allow some Somaili-Mexican terrorist to sneak into the country. But trust me, this is bullshit, and it's not gonna happen. But just for the sake of argument, how do you "train" someone to look Mexican? Wait a minute, forget that question. I mean if Brad Pitt can get away with playing The Mexican, then anything is possible.

There goes those 9/11 fear tactics again...

WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE!

No deportation for the "illegal alien" mother of Maryland second-grader - Conservatives are considering moving to Canada or Arizona

Somewhere along the line in my blogging about the need for comprehensive immigration reform. I forgot to mention the fact that there are 5.5 million American-born children of undocumented immigrants living in the country.

Yes, according to the Pew Research Center: 73% of the children of undocumented immigrants are born in the United States. I was reminded of this a few days ago after I witnessed the exchange with a Maryland second-grader and the First Lady Michelle Obama a few days ago:

Latino Voter Suppression: Another look at the intent of Arizona's SB1070

I'm not going to take up much of your time with this one, and I won't repeat myself by saying that the law is indeed racist in nature, intent, and design. But a closer look at the law, raises serious questions as it relates to voter suppression. Now here on this very blog, I've already shown how the author of SB1070, Kris Kovach, once bragged to his Kansas Republican cronies by email, about purging the votes of minorities back in 2008.

Now, add to that, the report by the Brennan Center for Justice in 2008, which highlighted just how shrouded in secrecy and manipulation these practices are [read here]. With that in mind, journalist Greg Palast, makes a compelling case via truthout.com, that SB1070, has more to do with legal voters and their subsequent suppression, than the "problem" of "illegal" immigrants.

Check it out:

Now of course I expect the average republican party hardliner who reads this, to just chalk this up as yet another one of those "liberal media" mumbo-jumbo conspiracy pieces. Yes, that is just how life is out there in bizarro world; liberals lie, and conservatives are handed the truth from God everyday on 5000lb tablets and iPads. But hey, if Bush was able to steal the elections in 2000 down in Florida by purging minority votes. Who's to say that what they're cooking up out in Arizona, wouldn't work, like it did before in Florida?

Latino is the New Black: Republicans, the Hispanic Rift, & the Negro Enablers

As I've mentioned a time or two to the readers of this blog, I am an immigrant. I am the son of immigrants who migrated to this country back in the early 80s. I am the product of a family with four sons, of which three of them are college educated. I am the son of parents who they themselves sacrificed to further their education, at the collegiate level. Yes, I have something in common with the one in eight workers in this country; and that would be, I too was born on foreign soil. That said, it is why it is disappointing to me to hear the anti-immigration rhetoric from people who look like me.

People who like me, who are beneficiaries of the toils of many ethnic groups who coalesced, and formed the Civil Rights Movement. People who have forgotten the fact that said movement was not successful, were it not for collective activism of various ethnic groups and organizations. People who today, have stepped up a rung on the social ladder, only to look down on a class of people I now affectionately like to call: the new niggers. People who subscribe to the idea that like black folks once upon a time, Latinos are all criminals.

Yes, it's sad, but it is true; but, I remain buoyant to the prospect of black and brown folks coming together. Coming together in an effort to fight the very notion of our "unhuman-ness";  an idea perpetuated, and promoted by some within the dominant culture in the United States. An idea that fails to recognize that under the constitution of the United States, all people - legally documented or not - are offered the same protections, and granted certain inalienable rights.

Michael Savage: "Is Obama trying to start a race war?"

Thinking about race relations in the good ole US of A, and I've come to the conclusion: As long as people with a platform like Michael Savage are breathing, there'll never be any unity. You see, it's been quite a while since I blogged about this guy. Because quite frankly, him and his idiocy literally makes my ass itch. No joke! I listen to the rest of the talking heads who dominate the Conservative talk airwaves and those guys usually make me laugh. I mean there's no way one human being can be that dumb or out of touch with reality, right?

But no, Michael Savage, to me, he's the worst of them all as he releases his vitriolic language and opinions. He is the shit-stain on the draws of conservatism. He is the smegma found resting comfortably under the uncircumcised foreskin of conservative talk radio. Yes, he's that bad, and even worse, there are millions of people who tune in loyally everyday who walk away feeling like they've been enlightened. For example, check out what he had to say about a week ago just before the mass protests of Arizona's new immigration law on May Day. Just listen to what this asshole is implying about president Barack Obama:

I tell ya, it's a damn shame the FCC under pressure from Conservatives did away with the Fairness Doctrine back in the day. Since they did, there's been an explosion of conservative talk radio that has spawned the likes of Rush Limbaugh and the aforementioned oxygen thief, Michael Savage. Clearly there were no riots at last weeks May Day rallies across the country. But yet he took a sound-bite of one person, out of context, to represent an entire class and group of people. But yet, I'll be wrong if I were to listen to him and form the opinion that all white people, or conservatives are racist. But hey, maybe he's right about an impending race war. I mean, that could possibly explain how guns sales have drastically increased since November 4th, 2008.

Yep, and just like some of the people who identify with him ideologically. In the face of facts, he has to resort to his bully tactics. See, people like him, are no different than the idiots who rage behind computer screens. The difference is, it is people like Savage, who are the driving forces behind said internet "thuggery", of conservative intelligentsia, and members of the peanut gallery. But I guess if I could make millions a year by playing on the fears of your typical average dumb-ass citizen. I guess the question then should be: is Savage what's wrong with America, or is it that America is what's wrong with America?

I guess when you drop your real name, Michael Alan Weiner, to become Michael Savage the radio host, one couldn't help but to project his inner fears and insecurities. Or a return to a Birth of a Nation-esque time period in this country, hence all the talk against what would be the new niggers in America: Hispanic. Look, I realize "war" is as American as apple pie. Yep, and conservative white folks sure do love a good war or two. Well you know what? Forget the race war. Instead, how about we start a war on stupidity. I dunno about you, but that's one war I'll definitely volunteer for, in true patriotic fashion. Come to think of it, I think that's why I blog about people like Savage and company.

Check him out below when his "knowledge" is challenged by a college professor:

The Cisco Kid was a Friend of Mine: Forget Building a Border Fence, Let's Put a Dome Over America

According to recent polling, most Americans support Arizona's new immigration law. And why would they feel this way? Well, that's easy. They simply associate the "illegal" portion of the term "illegal immigrant", to unlawfulness, or the unlawful behaviors of said immigrant. Keepin' it real, this has been a longtime racially stereotypical mainstream acceptance associated with people of color; or more specifically in this case: Mexicans. Yep, and the only acceptable Mexican in Arizona, is Brad Pitt.

Look, the only people committing crimes in this country are illegal Mexican immigrants, right? Yes, and this is nothing new; they even made a television series back in the day which alluded to this very premise, called The Cisco Kid. When you have a television show that depicts two Mexican Desperadoes riding around toting automatic weapons in guitar cases, what do you expect?

And then there's that whole Mexican drug war/unsecured border thing happening that we hear about in the news everyday. Obviously anyone paying attention to these news stories are going to believe that all Messikans are coked out drug runners; which is actually true by the way. Which, is exactly the reason we need to forget about building a secure border fence, and instead, work on putting a dome over the entire country. Hell, we could even have a retractable roof like the new Dallas Cowboys stadium even!

That said, why wouldn't the majority of Americans appreciate the new Arizona law, which coincidentally, is being considered by other states? I mean, we gotta clamp down on these criminals or else we'll be overrun by hoards of ruthless Tony Montana wannabes, right?  OK, so I know Tony Montana was Cuban; but, we all know that Cuba, just like Puerto Rico, is a small village in Mexico, right? The important thing here, is that the last thing we need is for us all to have to learn Spanish in order to be able to purchase an occasional sack of weed.

So, Let's Deport the Children of "Illegal Immigrants", who are Natural-Born Citizens of the USA, Shall We? Yes, Let's Do That!

Oh yeah, that's how you fix the "immigration problem" in America Mr. Duncan Hunter? I've heard about the dumbing down of America, but goddamn! How can one be this stupid? Well, they do say that fear breeds ignorance. And it's become quite apparent that old white folks are fearful of what's been termed the browning of America.

Of course I've highlighted on this blog about a year ago, just how racial profiling has backfired, leading to the deportation of actual American citizens, who just happen to be a certain shade of color [read it here]. That said, checkout what Republican Congressman, Duncan Hunter had to say at a Tea Party event last weekend:
SAN DIEGO (AP)-- Rep. Duncan Hunter said he would support deporting U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants, adding that "it takes more than walking across the border to be an American citizen."

The San Diego-area Republican congressman spoke Saturday at a video recorded tea party rally in Ramona. Hunter was asked by someone in the crowd if he backed deporting natural-born American citizens who are the children of illegal immigrants.

"I would have to, yes," Hunter said.

Hunter said in the video that some of his critics believe his stance is mean-spirited.

"And we're not being mean. We're just saying it takes more than walking across the border to become an American citizen," he said. "It's what's in our souls."
Well I'm all about keeping families together and all. But to "deport" children who are U.S. born citizens with their "illegal immigrant" parents as part of a solution? You know, because "it takes more than walking across the border to become an American citizen." Really? Well see there's this old piece of paper with a bunch of words written on it called the Constitution? Yeah, and in it there's a section called the 14th amendment? Uh-huh, yeah, that section explicitly guarantees citizenship to anyone born in the United States.
