Yesterday, almost five minutes after I published my last post on crazy people with guns, I turn on CNN to hear that some crazy 88yr old asshole shot and killed a guard at the Jewish Holocaust Museum in Washington DC. Then as I'm watching it coverage I find out this moonbat was a white supremacist, and that the guard he killed was Black. Yeah, a Black man killed at a Jewish Holocaust Museum by a White Supremacist who served in WWII.
Not trying to make light of this incident, but as I watched the coverage I couldn't help but notice a shot where the shooter was being transported from an ambulance to the hospital. You wanna know the funny thing about that image? Everybody, from the EMTs to the hospital attendants and even the cops were Black. Yeah, I thought that was a funny expression of dramatic irony.
I wondered if this hero of White Supremacy was conscious at the time, and just what the hell he had to be thinking looking at all those Negro faces for which he held a certain disdain. I could be wrong, but a part of me thinks at that very moment, as rooted in hate as he was, if he had a gun he would have shot himself in the head. Yes, to hate Niggers, Jews, and Spics is one thing, but to have your life in their hands in another? For him to commit suicide would have been too easy, and I hope he survives his wounds.
Not that this experience would change him in anyway. I'd just like to know that he's sitting in a hospital where there are people of color who recognizes him as a human being as they in their professionalism care for him. Care for him enough that he's able to stand trial, and eventually go to a federal prison and be surrounded by all those Black and Latino men as he spends his last days of his old decrepit life on this earth.
Remember back during last year’s campaign when Barack Obama said something about certain people in this country clinging to their guns and religion with antipathy? Remember that? Remember how "certain people" went ape shit over that statement? Yeah, well, I didn't forget, and the real irony of that statement is the fact that President Obama probably never figured he would be the poster boy for gun ownership as sales have increased since November 2008. So now that these "certain people" have all these guns, what the hell are they going to do with them?
Well, here in Tennessee, the state legislature passed a bill about a week ago allowing patrons to carry guns in restaurants and bars that serve alcohol. According to the bill, you’re allowed to carry a gun into these establishments as long as you’re not drinking. Local columnist Wendi C. Thomas weighed in on this recently, and I cannot agree with her more. You may not see this as a big deal but I do. I mean lets be real, it's not like there's a coat check service for guns at a bar or local pub. In other words: who the hell is going to check to be sure that a patron who's packing a gun isn't drinking? You know who? Nobody! That's right, I seriously doubt whether there'll be a gun check Matre Dee or hostess at bars or restaurants in this state to be sure of this ever.
And you know what else is jacked up? I doubt anybody ever checked to see if nightclubs serve alcohol or food. I mean technically, doesn't it mean that anyone can pack a gun as long as they have a permit of ownership and are not drinking into a nightclub or a strip club?
Well that's not a restaurant RiPPa.
Sure it's not, but nightclubs and strip clubs do serve chicken wings and alcohol on occasion don't they? I mean isn't it part of their requirement for licensing? I don't know about you or what you may think, but I don't think it's a good idea, but hell, don't tell that to "certain people" in my state or the other 37 states who allow this. This state like many others spends a lot of money enforcing drinking and driving laws. I’d like to know if they plan to do the same in catching gun toting drunken patrons in bars. I’m all about individuals having the right to bare arms, but I strongly support the gov’t having the responsibility of protecting me from crazy gun owners.
Now as if that wasn't bad enough, once again proving how much Barack Obama was right about "certain people" in this country, there's this next story. There's a church in Kentucky that is slated to have a "Bring Your Gun to Church" day or service in the very near future. Yeah, it would seem that these God fearing Americans love God & Country so much that they've decided to do this to celebrate the 2nd Amendment and the 4th of July all in one.

So lemme get this right: if it wasn't for God and guns there would be no America? Ok yeah, so if there were no guns back then maybe we'd see more Native Americans alive today, but that's a different blog. If this shit doesn't prove just how much "certain people" are scared shitless and live in fear, then I don't know what else does. It’s people like this pastor who are responsible for the surge in gun sales since the presidential elections. The fact that an abortion doctor was shot in church by another one of those "certain people" recently doesn't help this church's event either. But don't tell that to the pastor of New Bethel Church. In his view, that recent church shooting reinforces a need to promote safe gun ownership. You wanna promote something? How about promoting the idea that crazy church people and guns shouldn't mix?
Yeah, how about that. Because the way I see it, the idea of mixing religion and guns is a no no. I mean, don't you Christians condemn the actions of Jihadists, and suicide bombers? I can't do much about the recent bill being passed here in Tennessee allowing guns in restaurants and bars. But I have some close friends who live in Kentucky; some of them who are gun owners themselves. Maybe I should give them a call and have them attend this church service. Something tells me that if a few brothers with guns showed up in large numbers like the Black Panthers this shit wouldn't happen again next year. But then again, maybe if Jesus had a gun at the Last Supper, there would be no "Last Supper" and hence no silly Christian pastors like Ken Pagano.

I have to admit, like most of you who read this blog and comment, I'm often cynical about our youth. Yes, just like most of you I shake my head when there is a news story which involves their behavior. With that said, it felt good reading about the actions of a few students of Berkely High School out in California last Friday.

BERKELEY, Calif.--Some 300 students protested against racism June 5 at Berkeley High School, in the midst of preparation for finals and presentations of final projects.
The protest was organized by the Black Student Union in response to two racist images placed on Facebook. One image was of a Black student with the word n----, and the other was a doctored photo of a Black teacher in chains.
The group of almost exclusively Black students protested twice during the school day. In the morning, they wore small signs on their chests reading "I am not a n-----." In the afternoon, the students marched back and forth through the halls for about half an hour, ending their protest with a sit-in and speeches in the entrance of a central classroom building.
The demands of the Black Student Union include ethnic studies as a requirement for graduation, reinstating a full African American studies department, hiring more Black teachers with student input, implementing cultural awareness training for students and teachers, and setting up truth and reconciliation forums for perpetrators of hate crimes or disrespect because of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
Berkeley High is a large urban high school of 3,100 known for its academic achievement and its student diversity. White students are a plurality, but not a majority. Black students are the second-largest group, with about a third of the population.
One of the stated goals of BHS is to overcome the equity gap (also known as the achievement gap) between white students and students of color. One big step toward this goal is to put the demands of the BSU into place and incorporate an understanding of race and racism into the life of the school.
All members of the BHS community will benefit from and should support these demands. [Source]
With these kids taking a stand, and realizing the effects of activism, all I can say is that all is not lost. It's good to know that there are kids out there who care, and are not afraid to protest or demonstrate an act of Democracy 101. The children are indeed our future, and we should never forget that. Don't give up folks, and do continue to work and inspire our youth to affect change in whatever way you can because all is not lost.
Awww man! Here I was just over on the Field Negro's spot leaving a comment on a post about the state of music, or the garbage that passes for it on the radio, and I come back to this next story. The real irony of this story is that it involves dancehall music in Jamaica.
Well, over at my man Field's post I left a comment saying that I listen to a lot of dancehall with some very sexually suggestive lyrics, and thankfully my 15yr old doesn't understand what the hell is being said in those songs. Well, my 15yr old may not be able to understand what the hell the rude boy n' dem be sayin in those songs, but I'm sure she can read, and even she may find this disturbing.
You see, it would seem that there's a problem in Jamaica folks. No, it's not the weed, or the rampant crime. The problem in Jamaica is that people - namely men - are having so much fun in the clubs like my man in the pic above, that they're breaking their penises. Yeah, I know right? I didn't know the penis had a bone either. Ok so I'm just kidding about the bone thing, but Negroes are breaking their penis' doing some dance called Daggering. What is "Daggering" you might ask? Well, it's nothing but the latest dance craze sweeping the island.

Guys dance around with an erect penis trying to poke the ladies with it. It’s more or less simulated sex on the dance floor. Now, here’s where it gets interesting - apparently some guys have taken the practice into the bedroom, poking their partners anywhere and everywhere and when things get too rough, they fracture their penis, causing extreme pain, swelling and bruising. Umm, dancing and grinding on a woman in a club is one thing, but jumping off the headboard with an erect penis is not the smartest thing in the world to do folks. I know people do some "strange" stuff in bed, but poking your partner anywhere and everywhere is kinda out there to me. I mean seriously! What makes a guy wanna poke a woman with a hard dick, like under her armpit? Don't laugh, being poked any and everywhere would mean that some fool is doing some shit like that; and lord knows where else they choose to poke liberally with the wee wee.
Jamaica’s Broadcasting Commission, which defines daggering as a "colloquial term used in dancehall culture as a reference to hardcore sex or what is popularly referred to as 'dry sex' or the activities of persons engaged in the public simulation of various sexual acts and positions", enforced the ban in February.
“There shall not be transmitted through radio or television or cable services, any recording, live song or music video which promotes the act of ‘daggering’, or which makes reference to, or is otherwise suggestive of ‘daggering’,” the Jamaican Broadcasting Commission’s official statement said.[Source]
Now I can understand one idiot doing it, but for it to be the latest craze? I don't know folks, me being from Trinidad & Tobago, and being used to winin’ up on a fat bamsee as we say, I have to wonder what my Jamaican cousins are putting in the weed these days. From the looks of it, Shabba Ranks wasn't or isn't the only one who is "Wicked Inna Bed". These cats are off the chain thinking they can use Mr. Bozak as a weapon as they try to stab women with it. Apparently this has become such a problem that the gov’t in Jamaica is cracking down on any media promotion of the dance. I’ono y’all, but I think they need to crackdown on the weed or something.
Yup, cops beat a brother down and arrest him for standing on a street corner with his sweatshirt unzipped. Yup, no big deal; this type of thing happens all the time. To be honest, I have no idea why these people are even rallying against this police officer. Don't they know that that asswhoopin was constitutional?

Ok, so lemme see, Barack Obama went to Egypt this week, jumped over a pit of snakes, did some other shit, and discovered the Ark of the Covenant, right? Oh my bad; that was a white guy who did that. Obama is no Indy Jones but somewhere along the line he managed to give a speech that some say will go down in history as one of the best speeches ever while in Egypt. Of course there are some people who refuse to acknowledge that this country needs to reshape its image in the world. People like that are the folks who stay up all night afraid of some guy in a turban hooked up to a dialysis machine knocking at their door asking to borrow a cup of sugar.
These very people probably see the Muslim world as a problem, and a threat to their very existence. Let’s be honest: Islamic extremists make up a small minority of the Muslim world, no? That's something I don't get because me personally, there are more serious threats to me and my family that concerns me. Umm, terrorists just ain't one of them. That said, I'm glad that Barack Obama took the time to extend an olive branch to the Muslim world with his speech. If anything, it should usher in a new era of hope when it comes to peace in the Middle East.

I gotta give it to them; at least they're loyal to the motherland. I mean seriously, I wish Black people were more loyal to our motherland like these kids. Hell, I think Black college kids should go to Africa and get drunk for Spring Break and shit like that. I mean seriously, people are always comparing Black folks to Jews, and suggesting how we could never get it together like they do. Fuck it, I say from here on out we skip Black Bike Week, Freaknick, and all the other Black events filled with debauchery and drunken sex here in America, and go to Africa instead. I mean, we gotta start somewhere don't we?
No joke, I mean clearly these Jewish kids have their acts together. They may not have a sense of history to realize that Blacks and Jews worked together during the Civil Rights movement. Not only that, but they obviously don’t know that Barack Obama managed to capture 78% of the Jewish vote in November. But dammit you gotta applaud them and their love for their country. Speaking of which, is it Israel or America? Either way, I wish these people in the video would get the memo, and realize that peace in the Middle East is what’s up. Why hate on Obama because he chose to speak to the Muslim world; didn't he boycott the United Nations conference on racism because of Israel? I mean shit, you would think Obama went over to Egypt and put that Negro nose back on the Sphinx or something! If only they would get a clue from another up and coming Jewish kid – Asher Roth – maybe we could all get along. But then again, maybe they can just blame it all on the alcohol.

Apparently, there's an email circulating which justifies why Sonia Sotomayor should not be a Supreme Court judge. You may wonder why I've spent time on the subject of her nomination and the backlash. I do so because it is my belief that with more people of color at that level of power, certain inequalities which affect us all and not just people of color will be realized. Any injustice faced by people of color affects us all as a society, and I think it's time that this is realized mainly by our "privileged" brothers and sisters who are non-minorities.

• White men are objective. Women and people of color are inherently biased, making all their opinions suspect. This should automatically disqualify them from serving on the bench. White men look out for everyone and aren’t just interested in taking care of their own. Frankly, people of color are secretly “out to get” white men and would use whatever power they have to settle a score.
• White people are color-blind and can transcend race. Today’s racists and sexists are actually people of color and women who cling to their identity politics just for their own gain. Judge Sonia Sotomayor thinks that race shapes one’s experiences and perspectives and that diversity somehow makes things better. Her PuertoRican roots must be coloring her views for she clearly has little understanding of America or its citizens. No wonder Newt Gingrich authoritatively labels her a “Latina woman racist.” White American-born straight men have secure identities and don’t need identity politics.
Indeed, whites don’t even see race because they don’t really have a race. They’re just part of the human race. They prefer to blend in without calling attention to themselves. And they know that if we’d all just ignore race, then racism would disappear. That’s why Chief Justice John Roberts, when striking down a voluntary school integration plan, nobly asserted, “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” In other words, race conscious remedies to address racial inequalities are, by definition, racist. Simple logic. It makes you wonder how the authors of the Brown v. Board of Education decision could have been so blatantly discriminatory.
• White men are more qualified. They consistently score better on standardized tests. That’s why they get into elite schools and high-paying jobs, fair and square, without any affirmative action. If white men excel, it’s only because meritocracy works. Those who make the rules and play by them deserve to succeed.
• White men have the right judicial temperament. The last thing our highest court needs is angry people of color, hysterical women, or both. White men have well-honed skills for staying cool and collected. And they’re less likely to be “activist” judges. In fact, we’d be better off with a strict interpretation of our original constitution--before it got all mucked up with amendments that gave too many people rights they didn’t even earn or deserve, like the right to vote. Look where that’s gotten us.
• White men are the new minority. White men are endangered, having to fend off reverse racism at every turn. With a Black president, who knows what could happen to the Supreme Court and every other sacred institution? Under our unwritten quota system, every vacancy sets off a bean-counting frenzy. Now, anyone and their cousin with dark skin or limited testosterone is instantly qualified for a seat on the Supreme Court. That’s why this nomination fight is the new ground zero of Pat Buchanan’s prophetic “culture war.” And it may well become the frontline of the war on terror. For it’s not just the survival of white men at stake, but the sanctity of our entire social order.
I don't know about you, but I didn't know that White men were on the endangered species list before I read that above email. Seriously, I had no friggin idea, and now I feel bad about it. This is bad people; we can't just have "Red-Blooded God-fearing Americans" be subject to such oppression and be relegated to 2nd class citizens in this country of ours. I mean seriously, what would Adolph Hitler say if this were allowed to happen? White men have fought hard for this country; they've toiled tirelessly on cotton fields after being brought to this new land on the Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Nina from Europe. You may not know this, but the conditions on those ships were not anything like the Queen Victoria or the Titanic. Yes, many of them succumbed to sea sickness, and the occasional scurvy; and in spite of that they survived.
For them to be in danger as they are today is a grave danger to humanity as we know it. Yes, and this is why we must take up their cause. Yes, as a people we must do all we can to advance the cause of the White man; help them register to vote; give them welfare; create anti-discrimination laws; dammit do something! Please people, it's important that you join me in this effort. If you don't, they may just end up in cages in the zoo. Or even worse, our Prison Industrial Complex. So please, join me in this effort. Forget Martin Luther King Jr. and all that dream talk. I mean hell, ask yourself: what would Clarence Thomas do?
Proving once again just how divisive the Republican Party is and has been in steps Manuel Miranda. Not an everyday household name like Rush Limbaugh and company, but he too is a member of their ilk. He is a former Republican staffer and aide to former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN). Miranda is also the guy who was responsible who was busted for hacking into the files of Senate Democrats back in 2004.
Yes, this guy is a dedicated foot soldier for the religious right as well as the Republican Party. He’s so dedicated, that he’s leading the charge against the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Am I the only one who happens to notice that he himself is a Latino? Yes, and I find it quite convenient that he is; it seems like when it comes to race and politics the republicans always seem to come up with a person of a similar ethnicity as an attack dog on another ethnic minority. You know, kinda like the recipient of my Slave Catcher Award? You know, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and his antics on FOX?

Well in the same manner Manuel Miranda has come forth. Yesterday at a Heritage Foundation lunch for conservative bloggers, Miranda discussed how conservatives could attack Sotomayor without alienating the Latino vote. Good move actually; I wish Black Republicans and the Republican party in general would pay attention to this when it comes to alienating Black voters – are you listening Michael Steele? In his discussion Miranda made it clear that Latinos are “just like everybody else” with the exception of Black people. Ah yes, once again as always Black folks are the exception to the rule. You see, according to Manuel Miranda: Latinos are “not like African-Americans. We think just like everybody else”:
"Hispanic polls, Hispanic surveys, indicate that Hispanics think just like everyone else. We’re not like African-Americans. We think just like everybody else. When I was on the leader’s staff, someone called me once and asked me: ‘What’s Senator Frist’s Hispanic agenda?’ I said, ‘low taxes, better education, more jobs … what are you talking about?’ And that’s how Hispanics are. This is an opportunity to educate them on all of our issues and they will resonate in the way that they resonate with everyone else."
So there it is. Black people get no love from the Republican Party because, well, we think differently unlike everybody else. Can any of you Latino/Latina readers tell me when this polling was done, and what were the sample questions? I’m sorry, but I know by extension, Latinos may have a little bit more European blood that us Black folks, and they may have never picked cotton. But even in stating that fact, only an idiot would not know that colonialism has had an effect on them in similar ways as it has Black folks all over the world. With that said, Manuel Miranda in effect, is just another Slave Catcher in my book.

I don't know about you, but I sure would love ton hear an explanation as to the cognitive difference between Black folks and the rest of America. The irony of all this, is the fact that they say Sonia Sotomayor is a racist member of the Latin KKK. Well, if she is, she sure doesn't sound anything like Manuel Miranda. Does that mean that the KKK allows Hispanic members?
Just when Black folks have finally put to rest the image of the D.C. Sniper, and the shame and embarrassment of him being Black, here comes this shit. Yeah, that brother in the pic above is named Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad. Yes his hands behind his back means he’s doing the now infamous media perp walk that Black men are bound by the constitution to do. If you have yet to hear of his crime; he was the person responsible for the drive-by shooting at the military recruitment center in Little Rock Arkansas. Yes, his actions lead to the death of one military recruiter and the wounding of another.
As of right now, there is no clear motive as to why this brother did what he did, but I find it funny he’s already considered a terrorist in the media. I don’t know, but if his name was “Tyrone Jenkins”, I sincerely doubt that the label terrorist would be attached to him. Black men run around shooting other Black men everyday but they’re never referred to as terrorists. But nevertheless, he is now sitting in jail charged with one count of murder, and 15 counts of committing a terrorist act.
So the brother is a terrorist. Why because he has a funny sounding name and is a convert to Islam? Or is it because he shot up a military recruitment office? I mean is he a part of that silly New York Muslim terrorist cell who were dumb enough to buy fake bombs after being entrapped by an overzealous FBI informant? I don’t know if this guy is a terrorist folks, but I do know that guy who shot that abortion doctor in Wichita Kansas definitely was. But then again, maybe he’s not given that title given the fact that religious clowns on the far right side of the political spectrum are applauding his actions.
And you know what else is ridiculous? I have yet to see in the MSM the perp walk of Mr. Anti-Abortion /Pro-Murder White guy in the news. Hell, if it wasn’t for the picture of his mug shot from a previous arrest, I would have never known what he looks like. I guess at the end of the day it all comes down to the fact that God hates abortions, but not so much murder. Yeah, when you kill somebody and you have God on your side when you do, you’re a hero and not a terrorist. Oh well, so much for prosecuting George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld for war crimes. After all, wasn’t it God who told him to invade Iraq?
As I mentioned before, unlike the crazy White dude, there is no motive for what the brother did in Arkansas. If it were determined, that he was opposed to war. The question I’d like to ask, is: would he be considered a hero, or revered as was that guy in Kansas in the eyes of those God loving God fearing folks who call themselves real Americans? I known dissent is the highest form of patriotism, but when did committing a crime as heinous as murder make one a hero.
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson is my dude. You hear me? He is my dude! Anybody who knows me will tell you that I have the potential to stalk that brother just so I can have an exclusive conversation with him. OK, so this is the part of the blog after saying those first few lines where I insert the "no homo" pause for comedic effect, and gratuitous laughter. Yes, that's what I would have done some years ago, but that shit is played out. Besides, when it comes to Dr. Dyson, I don't play. To me, this brother is as serious as a stop light in rush hour traffic.

That said, can you imagine the debates in that household back then? But anyway, like me, even though he supports Obama, he is also critical and is not afraid like some of my cousins to hold him accountable as a politician.
Personally, I think it's funny how Black people hold our celebrities accountable for their behavior and actions, [think R. Kelly and his juvenile porta-potty fetish] but yet are quick to give Black public figures a pass when it is necessary that they be held to account [think Judge Clarence Thomas when we sat bye and watched them destroy Anita Hill].
