Could you sleep at night when you get 30 death threats per day? Well, could you? Even with a Secret Service detail, could you?

No seriously, can you? Can you imagine living everyday and having the responsibility of leading the free world when daily; people are constantly threatening your life, as well as the life of your family? I've thought about this before the election, but had no real idea as to how bad being the first Black president would be.

I remember Eddie Murphy joking about it in one of his stand-up routines back in the day when he spoke about Jesse Jackson becoming president. Back then we all laughed at the joke but never realized or accepted the possibilities. And now according to Ronald Kessler, author of In the President's Secret Service, threats against the president have increased 400% since the Bush presidency. According to the book, president Bush averaged 3000 death threats per year.

While the agents assigned to protect Obama and other principals are described as dedicated and valiant, Kessler asserts that in recent years the management of the agency "has betrayed its mission by cutting corners, risking the assassination of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and their families," the publisher says. One current agent tells the author: "It's a miracle we have not had a successful assassination." [source]

So now I'm wondering if president Obama even is aware of this. I'd like to think that he's aware of the threats to his life. But is he really aware of the number of them, and also the problems within the Secret Service? According to the above linked article, the Secret Service for the most part keep these investigated plots under wraps. But hey, given the current climate of political discourse, I'm afraid that someone will become rather bold.

HAGERSTOWN - The Secret Service is investigating a man who authorities said held a sign reading "Death to Obama" outside Wednesday's town hall meeting on health care reform in Western Maryland.

The sign also read, "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids," referring to the first name of President Barack Obama's wife, said Washington County sheriff's Capt. Peter Lazich.

Lazich said deputies detained the unidentified, 51-year-old man near the entrance to Hagerstown Community College about 1 p.m. after getting calls from a number of people attending the meeting held by Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin, D-Md. Obama was not at the meeting. [source]

Yep, and this just happened yesterday. Surely it's kind of hard to kill someone with just a sign, but yet and still this threat wasn't taken lightly. So the question I have to ask is: what exactly do you think is the motivation behind these death threats? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on that. Is it a matter of dissent due mostly to a disagreement in policy? Or am I wrong to assume that it is indeed racial?

I was speaking with someone recently who is of the opinion that what we see and hear at the town hall meeting to be mostly dissent to policy more than it is race. I don't know what you may think, but to me, it's getting kinda hard to tell. I hate to think that Obama would have to resort to bringing in the boys from the Nation of Islam for security purposes. Oh what a nightmare that would be for America. Hell, if that was the case I doubt a shoe would ever be hurled at him in protest. After all, he is Muslim is he not?

These town hall meetings on health care need less Elmer Fudd and more O'dog - I bet we'd get reform if brothers with guns showed up protesting

Ok people, this town hall meeting thing is getting crazy. I love a good debate and I love seeing democracy in action, but, I swear this stuff has done all but to expose some of the crazies among us. I understand that certain people are afraid of our well tanned president and all, but damn. I didn't want to give them any of my time as I did when they had those Tea Party protests a few months ago. But when you have Elmer Fudd coming out of the woodwork showing up with a loaded gun holding a sign and alluding to watering the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants and patriots, it cannot be ignored. Yep, these patriots with their religion and guns just won't stop.

Those racist cartoon characters I tell ya. I don't know what this guy was thinking if he was at all. But this is the type of stuff you can come to expect when our airwaves are being dominated by right-wing talking heads who capitalize on the fear and ignorance of some. Clearly Obama didn't fall victim to this deranged gun owner, but who's to say that this cannot happen at the next town hall meeting? Abraham Lincoln, anyone? I mean clearly Barack is no Bugs Bunny, but then again, is it even wabbit season? Or is it duck season. Oh, my bad. I forgot, Barack Obama is Felix The Cat; he's Black, lucky, and cooler than Morris Day so he cannot possibly ever meet such a fate.

But since this blog is where madness and reality intersects, lets get real with this one. Forget the cartoon people at these town hall meetings. What if O'dog of Menace II Society fame showed up with a gun? I mean my man Larenz Tate O'dog has grown up since the movie (that's if he's even still alive) and has probably done prison time by now given his dysfunctional destructive youth. I suspect he's probably unemployed like a host of Black men currently are, and without health care coverage; never mind him being a convicted felon. That said, do you think they would have let him stood there with his gun and a protest sign wondering when the marijuana green jobs are gonna trickle down to the "hood" in America so he can afford health care coverage?

Of course they wouldn't. O'dog would have been properly whisked away like Rodney King and not allowed to be heard. Yep, White rage is acceptable, but Black rage not so much. O'dog would not have had an interview with Chris Mathews on Hardball like Elmer Fudd did. Shit, keeping it real, the Secret Service would have been on his ass like he was a 14yr old female and they were all named R. Kelly.

No joke, if a Black man showed up with a gun at a town hall meeting hosted by the president, he would definitely get his ass pummeled. He would have been beatdown like Kenneth Gladney [definitely read about him here]. Gladney is another Negro who made the news recently for getting his ass jumped at a recent town hall meeting in St. Louis. Like Kenneth, O'dog wouldn't have health care coverage, but unlike Kenneth I doubt he would be against reform and siding with the Elmer Fudds of the world. But please believe, O'dog's story would be a lot more believable than Gladney's.

In the end, what we need are less cartoon characters and more real people at these events. Yes I know that corporate America is behind many of these anti-reform organizations. But I think their cause would be better served if they hired real actors instead of planting these crazy cartoon people. Hell, you'd think they'd give O'dog Larenz Tate a call. That brother needs a check; we haven't seen him since Love Jones. At least he'll be a better "actor" and and more convincing than all the silly people shouting lies. But then again fake rage combined with lies is what the last presidency was about, no?

BREAKING NEWS: Michael Jackson's doctor now a suspect in the murder of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.

Lets see, Michael Jackson has been dead for about 6mths now, he still hasn't been buried, and the coroners office just a couple of days ago said that they've concluded their investigation into the cause of death. Great, finally we can find out what exactly killed the man. Unfortunately for the world, the coroners office has yet to release it's findings and they have yet to do so under the instructions of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Well, according to them, they're still actively investigating Jackson's death as a homicide so therefore the results of the autopsy should be kept under wraps for now. You know what that tells me? That tells me that they're putting together an airtight case on Dr. Conrad Murray. Yep, I get the impression that they're not only getting all of their ducks lined up in a row, they're doing all they can to make sure this guy goes down and tie him to other crimes. If this Negro has warrants for unpaid jaywalking tickets he's going to do prison time.

I'm just sayin', we now know that this married doctor is behind on child support, has money problems, and is also an alleged Captain Save-A-Hoe. Yeah, "allegedly", Dr. Death has an arrangement with an ex-stripper he was courting on the side, with whom he has a love child; hey, you say "love child", I say "Champagne Room" baby.

Dr. Conrad Murray - under investigation for giving Jackson the anesthetic propofol - met Nicole Alvarez, 27, while she danced at the Vegas club Crazy Horse in December 2005, said ex-pal Ben Harris Jr.

Harris said he saw a $3,500 check Murray gave her after their first encounter during a weekend swing through Sin City.

"She came home the next morning excited," said Harris. "She woke me up - 'Boobie! Oh my goodness. I hit the jackpot.'"

He said Murray helped Alvarez move from her mom's rental to a posh Santa Monica pad and gave her a BMW.

"I rode in Murray's car and even helped Nicole spend his money," said Harris, who has written a manuscript about their escapades titled "A Lucrative Vengeance."

Alvarez declined to comment. A neighbor said she still lives in the apartment with her baby, Che Murray, born March 2.

See? Why else would we know this type of information, but yet to know just exactly what killed Michael Jackson? I'm kinda tired of hearing about this guy's personal life to be honest with you and I wish they would just go ahead and arrest him already. But I've watched Law & Order and The First 48 on television a time or two and I understand that they need something solid on him.

I mean think about it: if Dr. Broke-Pimp was in such financial trouble as he was/is, having to support a "retired" stripper (which from what I hear is kinda expensive), why would he kill Michael Jackson even accidentally? Yep, where's the motive? Seems like as f*cked up as this guy was while MJ was alive he damn sure would have done all he could to keep his cash cow breathing. And you see, like me, the cops are smart so they're going to pin pretty much any unsolved murder on this guy in order for justice to prevail.

I mean c'mon, this is the King of Pop who's dead that we're talking about here. They cannot afford to let this guy slide as they did the leprechaun who killed Biggie and Tupac so they're going hard on this one. Yep, you know how the police love "sprinkling crack" on Black suspects. Don't be surprised if they implicate this guy in the assassination of John F. Kennedy as well. Yep, from here on out Dr. Conrad Murray will be implicated in all gang-related murders, drive-by shootings, and any car jacking which resulted in death in Los Angeles County. Hell, he just might be the reason the push for health care reform fails. You know how it is: always blame the Black guy.

Does former NBA star Reggie Miller need to have his penis glued to his stomach next?

One of my good friends who screws dates nothing but white women has often told me that white women are more stupid easier fooled than Black women. To him I would always say that White women will be the death of him. But somehow he seems to always come away unscathed as he moved on from one to the next. Donessa T. Davis was not as lucky as my friend; not this time at least. You see, my man 'Nessa pictured above was recently caught up in a "love" triangle. Actually, he was caught up in a situation with his wife and three other women. Surely you've heard the story of how they set him up, beat his ass and glued his penis to his stomach right?

Well, how about this guy was arrested for child abuse, theft, unlawful phone use and harassment with a death threat in a domestic abuse investigation after his recent situation? I guess when you have your penis glued to your stomach and your ass whipped like a slave by four white women you'd be a little pissed and would have to resort to a little harassment to regain some level of respect. I mean given his "real n*gga" past with arrests, restraining orders and such, what else can we expect. Shit, if I had to chew through rope to escape an ass-whoopin by four ugly white women I too would have some shit to say to a few people.

Yeah, being thrust into the spotlight in an embarrassing way can make you do silly things. Hopefully former NBA star Reggie Miller doesn't resort to such behavior. You see, it's been alleged that Reggie has a thing for married women. When I first heard this I was shocked and though obviously they're confusing Reggie for his sister Cheryl; you know how aggressive some lesbians can be; surely Reggie "nice guy" Miller would do no such thing. According to reports, Reggie was the recipient of a restraining order in an attempt to have him stop harassing the fiance of a businessman who's soon to be wife is white. Instead, Alex von Furstenberg paid to have one of those banner advertising planes fly over Malibu beach with a banner that said:

REGGIE MILLER STOP PURSUING MARRIED WOMEN".

Further, according to an interview with Alex von Furstenberg, in a recent confrontation with Reggie, Miller is alleged to have threatened him and said, "he had friends with guns." I knew Reggie Miller had a mean three pointer when he played ball. But friends with guns? Reggie Miller thugged out? Who knew? I'm sorry, but he doesn't come off as the "Straight Out of Compton" type of guy, but hey you never know about those Black guys when they try and get with white chicks. I imagine they play hard on that thug stereotype since women tend to go for that sort of thing. Hopefully this is now a dead issue with Reggie, this white chick and her fiance. The last thing we need to hear in the news is that he was kidnapped, had his teeth fixed instead of gluing his penis to his stomach.

I still don't know if white women are easier than Black women. But I do know that white women aren't playing and they're getting gangster on that ass. All you white girl loving brothers out there better pay attention. Keep on f*cking around thinking you can get over on these white girls and get your ass McNair'd or your little willy tucked and super-glued between your legs. Trust me, that's far worse than having a Black woman pour hot grits on your ass. At least that's what I think. I don't know what you may have to say about this, but maybe white women are easier hence brothers doing silly stuff such as I mentioned above. I'm just sayin', certainly it can't be because they're freakier.

80yr old woman gets slammed by the police. The good news is that she won't remember any of it because she has Alzheimers.

Remember the good old days when cops helped little old ladies across the street? Yep, that was a long time ago, and apparently times have changed. Yes, apparently old women are thugged out these days. Blame it on gangster rap I suppose, but apparently 80yr old women run the streets and are a menace. Uh huh, apparently old women walk around wielding Rambo knives and they've been carving up good citizens with the precision of Jason Vorhees in a Friday the 13th movie. Yes, aren't you glad that we have police officers who are employed to protect us from little old ladies like this one:

I don't know why people are all upset over this. I'm just sayin', lord knows what could have happened if this geriatric criminal was not caught. Did you hear what the expert on the news had to say about this incident? Yep, that officer did what she had to do. OK yeah, so she had Alzheimer, big deal. At least she'll be able to forget what happened to her and live happily ever after. The police was just protecting her from herself as well as other citizens. I mean, you know how these criminals have been taking over our streets lately. You know, like this guy did recently:

What was this guy thinking? You can't just go around hijacking bathrooms the way he did. If you're gonna do something like that at least make sure you work at the establishment. I mean for real! What if someone was sick and they had to run to use that bathroom? Huh, what then? But don't tell that to his family who are pursuing a lawsuit against the police department. How were the police supposed to know there was a deaf guy on the other side of the bathroom door. For all they knew, he could have been some guy holed up in there smoking crack. Or worse, operating a meth lab.

Hell, he's lucky he didn't get shot and all he got was pepper sprayed and tasered followed by a trip to the county jail. I mean they didn't exactly have to give that deaf guy a ride home or even call an ambulance for that old woman. Shit, if you ask me, I think the cops were really nice to these people. Now all we have to do is encourage the police to stay on their jobs and apprehend real criminals on our streets. Yes, people like the savages mentioned above are a indeed a priority unlike this guy in the following clip. Yes, arresting him was a real injustice and we need to get thing like this stopped:

Is BET's Black College Tour a good or bad thing? Is this the best way to highlight HBCUs?

See the kid in the picture above? That's my little bro who's currently attending North Carolina A&T. I love that young man, and he reminds me of myself when I was in college. See back then, I was somewhat of a rabble rouser when it came to activism, social justice, and that whole change thing before it married hope and became a presidential campaign slogan.

My brother called me the other night to ask me what were my thoughts about BET. Never one to hold my tongue, I told him how I felt. After which he informed me that BET has contacted his college and has asked if they could come to their campus as part of their Black College Tour. If you're not aware of just what that is, it's a program which airs on BET every year. Each week, they take a camera crew to selected HBCUs and showcase what's supposed to be Black college life. After watching it you get the impression that there's a rapper who performs on all Black campus' at the Greek step shows which are held at least nine times a day. Uh huh, no wonder the graduation rate at HBCUs are what they are.

But anywhichaways, my brother is opposed to them coming because as he sees it, BET has nothing to offer mainstream Black America. I mean, that's with the exception of College Hill of course; you can't knock quality programing like that; if I was 17 or 18 years old again, I'd definitely wanna go to college after watching that show. So now my brother and the SGA (Student Government Association) president are putting together a plan of action to stop BET from coming to their school. Yep, we all had a small phone conference discussing it. I don't want to get into much of what was said, but all I can say is that I'm proud that there are young people who are willing to take a stand against the bullshit.

It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out and I promise to update you guys as to how it develops. CNN isn't playing fair with THIS health care reform ad

One thing I love is how useful the internet has become as a tool for political activism. That said, if you're like me and interested in affecting change this post is for you. If not, then I suggest you go play in rush hour traffic. OK, so the hot topic is health care; yep, something I haven't touched on for some time on this blog. The last time I did, people didn't give a rats ass or commented. But anyway, the heat is on and yes, health care reform is a must. There's a war going on outside that directly impacts your life and well being; and that would be the current health care debate. Things are so heated that you cannot watch a show on television without seeing and ad which is either for or against health care reform.

You know, like this one:

Interesting ad isn't it? Unfortunately, CNN is refusing to air this ad on their channel. Why you ask? Well because according to them “it unnecessarily singles out an individual company and person.” Here's some news folks: these "individual companies and persons" are spending millions of dollars to spread mis-information about health care reform. And why would they do this? Because a government ran public health care option would create competition. And why is that a bad thing? Oh because they would see a slight shift in their profit margins in a direction they would rather it not go. I'm sorry, but this is America and everybody competes. Competition is a good thing. Yep, if it wasn't for competition we would never have "Ladies Night" at our favorite night-clubs, nor would we have "Quarter Beer Night".

Listen, these cable news channels like CNN are beholden to corporate interests just like politicians. Yes, and these corporations like the one mentioned in the ad above spend millions buying of donating contributions to election campaigns. That's right folks, the bottom line is money. Yep, money talks and bullshit runs marathons trying to play catchup. So listen, do me and yourself a favor. If you're about health care reform, take a few seconds of your time to click THIS LINK and tell CNN to air this ad. It's bad enough that they (CNN) allow Lou Dobbs to have a show where he pushes racist conspiracy theories, but now they want to be fair and balanced; oops, that's a whole different network...I think; checkout my sidebar on the right to see what you can do about that Lou Dobbs mess.

So Bill Clinton went over to North Korea and secured the release of two American journalists. Awesome! Proving once again that whenever you need to get some shit done you have to send in the Black guy. What, you didn't know Bill Clinton was in a Black Greek fraternity? Surely you knew he was Black, right? No joke, brothers have been making it happen like that for a long time. It's one of the reasons I get pissed when people hate on Jesse Jackson. Shit, Jesse has been traveling overseas and bringing back Americans since way back in the day. But nah, everybody thinks he's an opportunistic racial ambulance chaser. Now that Bill is back, maybe he can intervene on behalf of people like me and get The Fugees back together.

Speaking of negotiations, what's the deal up in Philadelphia? Lets see, Black kids aren't allowed in swimming pools, and now I'm hearing that brothers at a certain plant can't use the bathroom or drink water? Have you heard of this? If it wasn't for an email from a longtime reader of this blog I doubt I would have heard about this. I mean I know health-care is the hot topic, but when a Black man has to shit on himself because he's not able to use the "White's Only" bathroom at work, umm, we have a big problem:

Lawrence "Lonnie" Powell, 58, a semiskilled laborer at the city's Northwest Transfer Station, in Roxborough, said that since he began working at the trash-handling plant in 2003 he has had to seek the superintendent's permission to go to the bathroom — then descend five flights of stairs to use it.

Powell, who is black, said that white employees have been permitted to use a bathroom just 25 feet from his work station.

"On several occasions I've actually defecated on myself, trying to get down to the bathroom," said Powell, who operates a machine that packs trash into tractor-trailers to be taken to landfills.

Powell is one of five current and former employees, all in their 50s, who allege, in legal documents and interviews with the Daily News, that the station's white superintendent has discriminated against them because they are black.

The superintendent, John Gill, has not responded substantively to Daily News requests for comment.

When I first read this article I was speechless. I had a hard time believing or accepting that something like is still happening in 2009. I had a hard time picturing myself having to defecate on myself and continue my workday as if nothing happened. Not only that, I can't even get a drink of water without the supervisors permission? I'm sorry, but sweatshop workers in Peru get treated better than this. Maybe I'm wrong, clueless, or downright ignorant, but aren't there laws against this sort of thing? I'm only asking because these guys filed a complaint about this back in 2007 with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and they did nothing.

Howard K. Trubman, a Center City attorney representing the black workers at the station, said that the law permits Trowery and Young to take their case to court because the PHRC did not rule within a year.

But black workers had complained in writing about what they considered racism at the station as far back as 1999, Young and Trubman said.

In August 2007, Powell aired the black employees' grievances in a meeting with Gill and Streets Department Deputy Commissioner Carlton Williams, who then ordered Gill to open the supervisor's bathroom to everyone, court documents show.

That meeting came three days after a job action on Aug. 17, 2007, in which no African-American employees at the station reported for work. The workers still refer to the protest as "Black Friday."

Powell said that he later saw a black employee, who had been promoted to a supervisory position, using the "supervisor's bathroom" several times.

But that didn't last, and that employee went back to driving a truck, Trubman said.

"Today the door of that so-called supervisor bathroom is locked," Powell wrote in his June 29 affidavit, prepared for a racial-discrimination complaint that he filed last month with the PHRC. In the affidavit, he named four white employees who had used that bathroom.

Umm, is this 2009 or 1959? Because this issue wasn't resolved within a year of the complaint, these guys were able to file suit in May. Did this situation really have to come to this? A lawsuit? Lemme see, a Black guy can go to North Korea and negotiate the release of two U.S. journalists. But a few Black guys can file a discrimination complaint and nothing gets done here in America? Oh well, at least Bill Clinton is back from overseas. Maybe him, Jesse Jackson and my man The field Negro who lives in Philly can get together and resolve this quickly. It's bad enough you're not considered human and are not able to use the same bathroom as your White co-workers. But it's even worse to have to wear Depends undergarments just to make it through the day.

Police Gone Wild: Sheriff Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Undocumented Male Immigrants.

Is it me, or did the recent events surrounding the actions of Sgt. Jim Crow(ley) in Cambridge open up a Pandora's box of police irregularities? Ok, so no, there isn't a new DVD coming out entitled "Police Gone Wild," but I'd be damned if there needs to be one. Maybe that's an idea you or I can explore. Hell, the TV show "Cops" has probably been the longest running reality show series, and it has been quite successful. That said, isn't it time we had a show where we can police the police, and catch them on tape? I'm just sayin', if we did, maybe there would be less of the bullshit like this:

In a series of events that Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti called ``an abuse of power'' and ``a tarnish to the badge,'' law enforcement agents arrested one of their own Monday and accused him of sexually assaulting victims -- while in his uniform, in marked vehicles and on the job.

Jonathan Bleiweiss, 29, of Fort Lauderdale, who in March was honored as employee of the year for the Broward Sheriff's Office's Oakland Park District, was booked at 11 a.m. on 14 charges, including sexual battery, false imprisonment and stalking in connection with abusing one of the victims, a 30-year-old male. Bleiweiss was held without bail Monday.

Investigators said Monday they were preparing to file charges involving seven more male victims, and said there might be even more. The alleged victims range in age from 17 to 30, but all have something in common: They are undocumented immigrants, mostly from El Salvador and Mexico, who speak little English.

OK, did you get that? Yeah, this guy was recently awarded officer of the year. Yep, somehow the good officer probably never counted on one of those fence jumping Hispanics to have to balls to seek legal counsel. I'm sorry, but undocumented or not, I would have had to do the same thing after this:

Detectives said Bleiweiss used his authority to manipulate recent immigrants who feared the police. About 6 a.m. April 23, investigators said, Bleiweiss approached a 30-year-old man who was waiting for a ride to work outside the man's apartment complex.

The man told BSO that he was then frisked and fondled, with Bleiweiss sticking his hand inside his underwear. He said Bleiweiss demanded his cellphone number, then continuously called and sent him text messages.

According to the arrest warrant, Bleiweiss is accused of performing oral sex on the man on at least four occasions between that day and June 7. He ordered the man to comply or risk deportation, said BSO Detective Graciela Benito.

She said that when BSO investigators interviewed residents at the apartment complex, they discovered a similar pattern: On multiple occasions, she said, Bleiweiss stopped a victim, demanded an ID, then sexually abused them when he determined they were undocumented.

Now mind you, officer "real friendly" was an openly gay police officer; something that's almost unheard of in this country. Matter of fact, I think the only openly gay police officer to exist was a member of the Village People. Yep, you can be an openly gay police officer but not a soldier? Uh huh, and this guy had to go ahead and f*ck it up for the next gay male who chooses to serve and protect as he was sworn to do. Looks like the only one serviced by this Sheriff in Broward County was himself, because he damn sure wasn't protecting anyone.

I know in the movie Police Academy back in the day somehow the bar "The Blue Oyster" would be the running joke. I don't suppose there are such bars in Broward County Florida that are welcoming to gay police officers. This folks is a true betrayal of trust, and is probably worse than being the recipient of a police issued beating. Oh well, this guy can kiss his $61,098 per year salary buh-bye all because of his actions. The scary thing about this is: can you imagine how many "straight" cops get away with this sort of behavior?
