If you think these crazy ass people marching on Washington hates Obama now. Just wait until the immigration debate starts next year

This weekend and in days to come I think I'm going to go around and interrupt random conversations people are having by saying "YOU LIE!!" Speaking of which, did you notice the line that sparked Rep. Joe Wilson's now infamous remark? Uh huh, his remark was in response to what Obama said as it pertains to "illegal immigrants" being covered in the proposed health care bill. I get the sense that the good congressman from the state of South Carolina may not like Eric Estrada's cousins so much.

But then I found out that's not true. You see, according to opencongress.org: Joe Wilson Voted to Provide Taxpayer Money for Illegal Immigrants' Healthcare. Wow, you mean to tell me the truth teller himself is actually down with buying Robitussin for the relatives of Lou Dobb's wife who is also a Hispanic American immigrant? Now if this ain't as hypocritical as Louis Farrakhan eating a pulled pork sandwich then I don't what what is. But then again, maybe he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and he thinks all illegal immigrants are actually Puerto Ricans.

So in the interest of truth:

Falsehood #1: Illegal immigrants will get taxpayer benefits under the health care reform proposals under consideration.

Fact: Every proposal on the table explicitly disqualifies illegal immigrants from receiving federal benefits. See the Senate HELP Committee bill, Section 151 and the Energy-Commerce Committee bill, Section 246.

Falsehood #2: An ironclad citizenship verification mechanism will protect U.S. taxpayers and reduce costs by preventing illegal immigrants from receiving benefits.

Fact: Opponents of reform cite the defeat of the verification amendments to health care legislation during House committee markups as proof that “illegals” will benefit from health care reform. In fact, by defeating the overly restrictive amendments committee members preserved critical administrative flexibility in defining the most effective verification process.

Some verification process will be required under a new program to enforce the explicit prohibition on benefits to illegal immigrants. But we have already seen that certain citizenship verification requirements in the Medicaid and Medicare eligibility contexts have created obstacles for U.S. citizens while failing to identify undocumented immigrants or save taxpayer money. The implementing agencies must have the flexibility to establish processes that maximize participation by citizens while barring undocumented immigrants from the program.

Falsehood #3: Illegal immigrants are a vast part of the uninsured population and removing them will solve the health care crisis.

Fact: We have approximately 46.3 million uninsured people in this country, and less than 7 million of those individuals are undocumented immigrants. That means 40 million Americans are uninsured. Solving the illegal immigration problem—important in its own right—will not solve the health care crisis.

Falsehood #4: Illegal immigrants consume large quantities of health care resources.

Fact: Illegal immigrants are already ineligible for Medicaid and Medicare and will remain so under current proposals. Even legal immigrants are ineligible for Medicaid for a five-year period. Immigrants across the board use fewer health care resources—from fewer office visits to fewer emergency room visits—than U.S. citizens. The argument that illegal immigrants are the cause of our health care woes is simply untenable. [source: Center for American Progress]

Sure Joe Wilson's outburt may have been a reflex action to anything Obama like the group of self proclaimed racist assholes patriots who are marching on Washington to the drumbeat of Glenn Beck. Yes, I realize that, and yes maybe he forgot that at one time he did vote so that hospitals would be reimbursed by the gov't for attending to uninsured illegal immigrants. Whatever the reason, I'm pretty sure "the base" of his party would overlook this fact as they continue their assault on anything Obama while overlooking the runaway spending by the previous administration.

If you think the rhetoric or the political climate is bad right now? Just wait until the immigration debate starts next year. If you think "certain people" want their country back right now? Just wait till next year when Barack Obama wants to give it away to all those illegal fence jumping, criminal drug dealing brown people from south of the border; hell, he's already given it away to Negroes. I get the feeling that the facts on immigration will be distorted worse than they have been when it comes to health care reform. If you think "white folks not gon' take it no'mo," as Pastor James David Manning lamented recently, just wait 'till next year.

Hey Barack, did you really tell the truth the other night? Is Rep. Joe Wilson onto something here? The Kool Aid doesn't taste the same Bro!

So I caught Barack Obama's speech the other night on Health Care Reform. Every time I listen to this brother and his speeches I somehow feel guilty for not going to church. I swear when he was done I was ready to get off the couch and kneel before the TV and repent for my sins. Yeah, he was that moving. But you know what stopped me? Good ole South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson. You know he was the guy who shouted and pretty much called Barack Obama a liar during his speech, right?

Well, some people are upset with him right about now, but if it wasn't for him reminding me that niggas presidents lie a lot (usually it's about weapons of mass destruction, wars, getting blowjobs and small stuff like that), I too may have been sold on Obama's alleged plan for Health Care reform. Now don't get me wrong, Obama's speech was great, and in the eyes of many he closed the deal. Yes, he sold the sizzle and not the steak as all master salesmen do. However, he delivered so well that I think many people are overlooking the ambiguity of his proposal. Or more specifically, what he had to say about the much discussed Public Option in the media. Truly this was by design and an act of true genius.

You see, for me, Single Payer Health Care Coverage would be the way to go. But unfortunately Obama backed off from that idea very early in the game. As matter of fact he never invited any proponents for single payer to the very first meeting at the White House earlier this year. Yes, and he did this after meeting with lobbyists for the insurance industry. I'm no wingnut republican, but I'm sorry, this proposed "public option" doesn't sound like the idea of Universal Health Care that motivated many of us to rally behind Obama as he campaigned last year. Yep, and I guess people missed it when Obama said this in his speech the other night:

“There are those on the left who believe that the only way to fix the system is through a single-payer system like Canada’s where we would severely restrict the private insurance market and have the government provide coverage for everyone.” He went on to say such a plan “would represent a radical shift that would disrupt the health care most people currently have.”
But here we are two days removed from his great speech and sadly, what has dominated the minds of many were the words of some asshole who called Obama a liar. To me, I think unintentionally it shifts focus from what was actually said in the speech. Sure Joe Wilson was disrespectful with his outburst, but what do you expect from a member of a political party who makes no bones about their hate filled agenda. I don't know about you, but when I envisioned Universal Health Care during the campaign, I never thought it would involve some 48 million people currently without health coverage being put in a “situation” where they're able to "shop" for affordable health care coverage as proposed. Especially at a time when the poverty level in this country has reached an 11yr high.

I never envisioned the now so-called public option being administered by Blue Cross or even having to wait at least 4yrs to see it work or even kick in. But I guess Blue Cross knew something we didn’t know when it took out a full page ad on page A15 of the Wall Street Journal the very next day entitled “Healthcare Reform That Works for Everyone”. Isn’t that capitalism socialism at its finest? Clearly this is another example of how the gov’t is at work and on the side of the electorate. I mean why would they not be? Surely our tax dollars are more important, influential and powerful than the BlueCross BlueShield Association who donated a total of $3.16 million (in 2008 and for 2010) to congressional candidates, $1.64 million to Democrats and $1.53 million to Republicans.

Yeah, Obama told the truth when he said that the gov’t will not kill old people. Yes, and surely he told the truth when he said that it was a false claim that “illegal immigrants” would be covered by gov’t ran health care. But was he telling the truth about being on the side of citizens who are without health care coverage? I don’t know, but I’m trying to not go there and remain optimistic and less cynical when I think of hope and change. But who am I to forget that our society is more plutocratic than it is democratic where “we the people” all have a voice with our vote and ability to affect change. Thanks to Joe Wilson and his childish outburst, not many many people are paying attention, which makes him more of a blessing than a curse I suppose; especially since insurance company stocks have risen since Obama's speech.

I'm sorry, but reform should benefit the insured and uninsured people in this country, and not insurance companies as it's being set up to do. I'm afraid, but I think Obama has the interests of the lobbyists at heart more so than us voters.

I'm pretty sure these people would agree with me:

Since nobody wants to listen to the smart negroes, lets spend some time with some smart white dudes, shall we?

A few discussions in a couple recent posts has motivated my "know it all ass" to quickly touch on this issue. That issue would be language or more appropriately how certain words are used in our political lexicon as ideological selling points. Now before I do this, I must tell you that as a gentleman who has spent the last 19yrs working in sales and marketing after leaving college I consider myself to be a master salesman. That said, I tend to listen a lot.

Listening is a tool which is essential for one to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas. Which brings me to the point of this blog. With all the malapropisms within our current political discourse, I feel the need to weigh in on the word "SOCIALISM". For this, I shall employ the words of one of my favorite political scholars, and most quoted political commentator of all time, Noam Chomsky.

Tell 'em about Socialism Noam:

Dang, did you notice where he said true socialism is akin to conservatism as we know it? No seriously, did you catch the breakdown on what socialism really is? I don't know about you, but I get the feeling that "certain people" don't know what the hell they're talking about as they carry around these signs likening Obama's policies to socialism. Or the stupid idea that we're slowly becoming like Russia. No stupid, there is no way we're becoming like Russia.

The problem - aside from people just being downright ignorant - is that people are confusing socialism for a political movement when it's not. It is an economic model and nothing more. That said, what socialist economy gives billions of dollars to failing companies (banks) who eventually turn around and make a profit? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Bush and company who came out and scared everyone into thinking that was what had to be done?

But lets talk about Industrial Democracy as brought up by Chomsky:

My bad, I didn't mean to allow my inner Economics geek out the bag. Yeah, you can thank the good folks at Indiana University for all they taught me. But that's neither here nor there. But hey, lets talk about socialism and income equality shall we? Or, lets talk about what Paul Krugman spoke on in the video above. More importantly, lets talk about why republicans are being paid to vote against the Employee Free Choice Act, can we? Or maybe we can talk about why Oil Companies are funding organizations who work against clean energy legislation?

Take your pick...

lets talk.

So did Barack Obama turn those school kids into "The Children Of The Corn" with his speech today, or what?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Damn, I didn't get to see or hear Obama's speech to the school-kids today. No, my mommy didn't keep me at home from school, I just missed it. I'm sorry, I'm a grown ass socialist and I don't need any indoctrination. So did you see it? Was it good? What happened? Are all of our kids now gonna walk around like Children of the Corn chanting "he who walks behind the scroll," and stuff like that?

Aww man I need you guys to fill me in on what went down today. Somehow I had in my head that Obama was gonna get on stage, grab the mic and rhyme Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five's "The Message". But I don't think he did that, did he? Wouldn't that have been cool? I think so, especially because it speaks on the realities of the country today with our great economy and all. Not only that, but it would be kinda cool to see Obama say how close to the edge he is given that everybody is on his case these days.

Oh well, I can't wait till you people give me some feedback on his speech and how you think our kids are going to act from here on out. Thankfully some of you kept your kids at home so they couldn't be indoctrinated. God bless those brave and courageous parents who took a stand like this woman...

Oh, so not only is Van Jones a communist, he's a sellout because his wife is white?

Whenever someone white speaks from a position of ignorance on race matters it's to be expected. You know that whole white privilege thing does that; and, it's understandable. But when a person of color, or more specifically, a Black m*thafucka who's supposed to be "conscious" speaks ignorantly on race matters and assumes the stance as if they themselves exude the very inescapable privilege of non-minorities? Yeah, it's a damn shame and it's enough to make a dead slave cry. Actually, it's a form of projecting what's known as internalized oppression/racism. It's the reason we see the Jesse Lee Peterson's of the world. Of course I understand the pathology associated with this mindset. But yet and still, I can't help but to shake my head in disgust at such people.

The last thing I wanted to do today was to even follow up on the latest goings on concerning Van Jones and his resignation as Obama's White House Energy advisor. But there are two misguided Negroes who have forced my hand [you can read them here and here]. Ironically, they're both Black women. One of them is an ultra conservative/republican, and from her, given that fact, I can see her relish in the moment of this being a small victory for the conservative/republican movement. The other, I don't even know what she is - she says she hates socialism which is welfare and Section 8 - but she's supposed to be "conscious" and has all the answers which explains the social ills of Black people. Somehow for the most part, the predication for these problems are not racial ones, but instead the failures of Black men; yeah, there's no correlation between racism and the exclusive "problems" seen in the Black community.

I guess then it's no surprise that she doesn't see the racial component as it relates to highly successful Black people in the political arena [read about Lani Guinier back in trhe 90s]. Nah, it's never about race; not hardly ever in her eyes. Instead, she questions Van Jones' commitment to the Black community and change because he's married to a white woman:

Then there is the little issue of Van Jones' personal life. For those of you who don't know Mr. Jones married a white woman. I don't understand how anyone can be a black nationalist one minute and marry an individual who is white the next. I'm willing to bet anything that Mr. Jones is one of these individuals (like Eldridge Cleaver) who blames the white man for all or most his troubles while desiring to sex white women. His stand against whites is (or was) more than likely one sided. He doesn't see white women as a problem in terms of white supremacy or the oppression of black people. No...he simply views the white man as the only member of white America prompting oppression.

I've said it before and I will say it again...I don't think it's possible for a black person who marries white to totally be down with the cause. There is a conflict of interest there. I don't think someone claiming to have the best interest of black people at heart can rightfully say so while married to someone who is white (in this country). Naturally these individuals are sympathetic to the needs of their spouse and those who look like them. This in my opinion conflicts with their interest of being a black nationalist.

How the hell can you be a black nationalist and not be down for creating more black people??? How the hell can you be a black nationalist and accept a member of the "oppressor's" family into your bed??? It makes no sense to me. If he was so sick of being oppressed and so down for the people he wouldn't lay up with a white woman. Perhaps this is why he moved his attention away from civil rights and on to environmental issues.

Sounds like words from a person who is completely "down" for the cause that is the advancement of the interests of people of color right? You know, those people who claim to be Blacker than thou because, well, their shit is so correct? You know, that whole "throw your Black fist in the air, power to the people" and all that other "I'm so down," bullshit? Yeah, that's the impression you get from this Black woman, right?

What about the "green" jobs Van Jones planned to create in the ghetto? Why in the hell do we as black people look to the national government to help us do what we're suppose to do? What's stopping black folks from creating their own "green" jobs? I will never understand why we can't do for ourselves as a people. You want jobs in the hood get off your ass and create them yourselves. Start a business. Help someone else start a business. Stop looking to others to lead you and start leading yourselves. Don't put your hopes in the hands of others. It only leads to failure.

Understand me when I say this....I'm not going to jump to the defense of someone simply because he or she shares my skin color. If their ideologies conflict with my own then we have a problem. It should NOT be expected of me to jump to the defense of those I don't agree with. There is no way in hell I would agree with Mr. Jones given his shady past. He is far too radical for my taste.
Isn't that the most ignorant thing you've read today? For the life of me I can't understand the idea that Black people automatically defend other Black people because they share the same skin color. To be honest, I never knew there were Black people who took to this practice. But beyond that, in a country where environmental racism intentionally persists, you're expecting Green Jobs to trickle down to urban communities on it's own? Hello, are we forgetting that the national unemployment rate is at a 26yr high? Or maybe in her hubris she doesn't realize that the unemployment rate for Blacks is currently the highest of any ethnic/racial group in this country? Yeah, be that as it may, I guess the idea of creating Green Jobs "in the hood," as the says is sacrosanct. But yet she's so down for "HER" people? Get the fuck outta here. I'm sorry, this isn't "Black Conscious Thought" as is the name of her blog. This is utter foolishness, and dare I say Slave Catcher behavior. It's a good thing there are people in Nashville TN. right up the road from me who are down for their people unlike her. These are people currently working towards making Nashville the Greenest city in the southwest as they create jobs, with the help of the organization Green For All -- an organization started by Van Jones in 2007 [read it here].

Just the idea alone that Jones is a sellout because he's married to a white woman is pathetic me. Yes, lets not look at his body of work which by the way, has a lot to do with disenfranchised, poor people than anything else. Does that make him a "Black Nationalists"? I'm just saying, did Jones ever label himself a "Black Nationalist" or was it Glenn Beck who did as a means of scaring the tin-foil hat wearing following he has? You know all one has to do is appeal to the ignorance of some by contending that a Black man is a supremacist and he wants to take away America from white folks, right? Yeah, Black supremacy bad, white supremacy not so much. Like I said, it's one thing to hear this drivel coming from non-minorities, but when it's coming from fellow people of color it's disheartening.

But I guess there were never white people who were "down for the cause," that is the social and economic advancement of people of color. Yeah, history lied to us when they told us that the first president of the NAACP was a Jew, or that the abolitionist movement was largely comprised of white people. Where would we be as a country if it were not for the non-minorities who were brave enough to step up and do what was right? Yeah, where would we be if those non-minorities who share the same skin color as Van Jones' wife never sold out? It's just as sad that there are Black people here in the year 2009 who are just as blissfully ignorant, and bigoted as the white folks who have bought and sold the idea of white supremacy. But hey, they called Martin Luther King Jr. a communist just like they did Van Jones, and like him he had a dream so go figure. I don't expect the majority of white folks to "get it" like my fellow Tennessee native Tim Wise does in this piece. But it's a damn shame when supposedly "conscious" Black people are now doing the work of the devil.

Van Jones Resigns: Score one for the assholes of America who are always against progress.

From the minute I made my post the other week a day after Glen Beck dubbed Van Jones a communist Black supremacist I knew it was coming. I figured it was going to be a matter of time before he either resigned or was thrown under the bus by president Obama. Looking back at the rhetoric on my post it was clear; and as I stated, this was indeed an attack on Black intelligentsia and community activism. Well, score one for the assholes of America folks because Van Jones has resigned.

White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of controversy stemming from his past activism.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future." [Source: The Washington Post]

Way to go muthafuckas; so much for the whole Green Jobs concept being trickled down to our urban communities. Yep, just a day or so after it was revealed that the current unemployment rate (9.7%) is at a 26yr high. Ya happy now bitches? While Republicans and the Glenn Beck Fool-Aid drinking crew relish in this as a victory, ultimately, it is the country who loses. Yes, America loses at the hands of dis-informed mental midgets who would love nothing better than to see the current president, and former "community organizer" fail.

Well you know what? Like Bernie Mack, we ain't scared of you muthafuckas; and us Nazi's in the community are going to keep fighting. We're going to keep organizing and fighting the big machine for social justice and change. If anything, this should be a wake-up call for progressive minded political individuals the likes of myself (i.e. Progressive Negroes). As a group we must fight fire with fire. No, unlike the opposition we should not push lies and espouse vitriolic rhetoric for political expediency. What we should do is speak truth to power and educate the masses harder than ever. Surely we cannot change the minds of all. But our voice is powerful, and with the truth is on our side, we'll never lose.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Black people, it is imperative that we do a better job of defending our images and distorted perceptions in the face of the right wing sharks who do not have our best interests at heart. Van Jones will be ok; he's going to continue the good work he has always done. He will continue to champion the fight for the disenfranchised among us, the fight for saving our environment, and the fight for economic equality among ethnic groups. If these issues makes him a communist, or a Black Supremacist as he has been labeled, then I guess him and I are one in the same. On Friday Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) called on Jones to resign, saying in a statement, "His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this administration or the public debate." Really? This coming from a representative of a party who welcomes racially divisive and extremist rhetoric at town hall meetings?

My only disappointment through all of this, is that as a people (Black people) we slept on this one. We pitched a bitch about not enough key Black appointees within the current administration. But we stood bye and allowed another one of ours to be railroaded in the media. We did the same thing with the good old Rev. Jeremiah Wright as the media with it's soundbite after soundbite made him out to be a pariah. Well, are we just going to continue to allow them to do that to everything and everyone Black associated with Barack Obama? Jones was right, those of us who are not Barack Hussien Obama, are going to have to get uppity.

Well done assholes...

So you people proved me wrong on the photogenically challenged AKA thing....

Recently on this blog we discussed the stereotypical perception which surrounds the Black Greek sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA). I said that it has long been the/my perception that they all possessed a "certain" look, and were for the most part not photogenically challenged. You folks who responded all said that I was wrong.

OK, I'll admit, yeah, I was wrong. Hell, I even had one reader email me a pic of a "not so cute, but very hard on the eyes" sister who is a member of the very sorority. Aww hell don't gimme that "you so mean RiPPa," look either. This Jurassic looking AKA has a pretty nasty attitude according to the young lady who sent me the email. And you know how I feel about ugly people with attitudes [remember my Sandra Rose post?].

So, always one to try and disprove certain stereotypes of Black people. I decided to take another stab at this with the Black Greeks in mind. Yeah, and I bet you guys won't win on this one.

I swear, this one is gonna be fun, but...

are any gay members of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity?

Personally I would have to say no. But hey, I'm not always right and you people have proven that just recently. So, it is my challenge to you, my beloved readers... find me a pic of a gay Q-Dog? Or, if you're aware of any gay members of that fraternity, do me the favor of letting me know.

No seriously, I'd hate to think that I've wrongfully stereotyped these guys to all be the obnoxious hyper-masculine types. Not that gay guys cannot be obnoxious, or hyper-masculine or anything even remotely close stereotypically. I just wanna know if as a fraternity they would be as welcoming as the AKAs are or would be with the "not so cute" sisters out here. Ok, I'll stop for now, and I dare you to find me a gay Q-Dog. I bet you won't win this one.

Suicide by Cop: Is that what they call it when they shoot a mentally disturbed man 59 times?

I've heard the term suicide by cop a time or two in recent years. And lemme tell you, I'm not buying it; at least not in all cases. What ever happened to the good old days when people just hung themselves, shot themselves in the head, slit their wrists, or any one of the various ways of committing suicide. OK, yeah, so it's a known fact that cops have itchy trigger fingers, and yes I can see someone using that to their benefit. But instigating an encounter with the police to end your life seems more like a call to attention than a death wish in my book.

According to the boys in blue down in the city of Chattanooga, TN., that's just what that seemingly happy Black man, Alonzo Heyward in the pic above did in a recent encounter. Allegedly, he was distraught and suicidal after a night of drinking and returning from a party; he walked around his neighborhood with a rifle threatening to kill himself. When confronted by the police he was shot and killed by 6 white police officers who fired at him 59 times, hitting his body 43 times total according to the medical examiners report:

Now I know the job of the police department is a rather dangerous one. And yes, I can understand them being apprehensive and fearful coming into contact with an emotionally disturbed individual. In also know that they're trained on how to tactically diffuse encounters with people mentally disturbed, or under the influence. But be that as it may, can you tell me that shooting this man, tha manner in which they did, was justified? Sure it can be said that they may have felt their lives threatened, or he made a move. But again, firing upon him 59 times? Of course this is overkill, and will be "justified" by the police as always. But could they have not done any better?

According to witnesses, Heyward was lying on his rifle on the porch at the time they opened fire. Now that said, how in the world can this be a justified shooting? Also, before the was shot they tried to subdue him with a stun gun. Um, the way tasers have been killing people all across the country, how come that didn't work? According to a police spokesperson on the case, Chattanooga police spend anywhere from 2 to 4 hours per year in training for situations like this. Given the outcome in this situation where Alonzo's life was lost? I'd say it's either they need more time spent in training, or they never cared about his life to begin with.

Oh just great! Now Barack Obama wants to turn our school-kids into little Nazi soldiers

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

That Barack Obama is one dangerous man. First he wants to give free medicine and money away to Black people, but kill all the old White people. And now he wants to give a speech to kids going back to school across the nation on September 8th? No wonder people are praying for his death. How dare he reach out to our stupid ass kids and offer them words of encouragement and inspiration to do well. Doesn't he know that's how that whole Jewish Holocaust thing started? Yeah, one guy reaching out to a bunch of stupid kids in Germany? This is America buddy; we like our kids dumb.

I don't know about you, but this latest move must be stopped. We cannot afford to have our kids grow up with hopes and aspirations of attending college or encourage them to grow up to be productive citizens. It's very rare that I'm wrong, and I'm beginning to think that conservatives are right about this one. Yeah, we should keep all of our kids out of school and not let them hear Obama speak. What are you, some kind of idiot? Bush's No Child Left Behind policy seems to be working fine, and was the savior of poor minority children; especially the Black ones; but Obama is taking money from HBCUs [read it here] and you people love him? Seriously folks, this does sound like some form of Nazi indoctrination. Next thing you know we'll all be driving Volkswagen's n' shit.

Chris Brown: Larry King interview, good move or bad move? Tell me what you think - Mama Skorpion doesn't approve (funny vid)

So last night the world pretty much stopped because of the Chris Brown interview on Larry King Live. Ok, so no it didn't actually stop like the premiere of Michael Jackson's Thriller video, but it was damn close; everybody on twitter was up on it. I don't know if people were tuning in because word got out that Chris didn't remember the temper tantrum he threw which happened to involve Rhianna's face. But I know there were a lot of people ready and waiting to teleport, or project their hate into the TV screen. You know how America has to always have someone Black to hate every other month, right?

Like most of you, I wanted to see the interview. I tried watching it twice last night but I've yet to see it in it's entirety. I dunno, but for me I think the whole blue bow-tie, and blue sweater thing was a turnoff. No seriously, I saw his outfit and I felt it was a tragic example of what a young Black man has to do to win respect today. And I'm afraid that Chris has set some sort of precedence with his choice of wear. Yes, young Black men from here on out will all go to court dressed as Muslim Smurfs in an attempt to appear softer in the eyes of the law. Forget the traditional gang colors red and blue. Yes, Powder Blue is what's hot from here on out. Yes, from here on out that saggy pants hip hop thing is dead. Chris Brown has officially killed the game and we can expect powder blue wife-beaters (pun intended) to be all the rage. I can't help but to think that somewhere rapper Cam'ron is kicking himself in the ass for wearing pink instead of powder blue.

Did Chris manage to accomplish, or win people over this with this interview? Like I said, I've yet to see the interview in it's entirety so I cannot comment. I would say that he looked pretty nervous and dare I say even a bit angry at times. He really should have worked on that scowl. If you've seen the interview, tell me what you think, will you? My wife watched most of it and we've been talking about it quite a bit today. I'd like to hear your thoughts about it. In closing, I'll just say that I'm sick and tired of seeing Black men apologizing for shit on my TV every time I turn around. Hell, I'm still mad that "Hancock" had to apologize publicly before he went to jail. Yeah what Chris did was wrong, yes he has since put forth a formal apology while wearing one of Prince's blouses. To me, that should have been it. But I guess when everybody hates Chris as they do, an apology tour is to be expected. Hopefully Larry King is still alive when O.J. Simpson gets out of prison.

I can't wait to see the full interview...

but then again, knowing me, I'll probably get pissed like this lady....
