Video evidence from 'The First 48' shows police cover up, in the 'accidental' shooting of 7yr old Aiyana Jones by Detroit police

I heard the news of the death of Aiyana Jones at the hands of a Detroit police officer on Sunday night and I was a bit upset. Upset at the fact that this innocent child lost her life as innocently as she did, at the hands of an individual sworn to serve and protect the community. Sure, somebody is going to say, "Well, if they weren't harboring a murder suspect none of this would have happened." Well, you're probably right about that; but, lemme hit you with a fuck you, and politely ask that you miss me with that bullshit.

I don't give a rats ass if they had Bin Laden holed up in the apartment; this child didn't deserve to die this way. Yep, and then they say it was an accident because her grandmother was wrestling with the police officer for the gun? Look, that's the type of shit you see in movies, and I'm not buying it. Yep, try again Detroit police. Yep, you muthafuckas have to come better than that especially in the face of this following press release:
DETROIT – Police who carried out a raid on a family home that left a 7-year-old girl dead over the weekend were accompanied by a camera crew for a reality television show, and an attorney says video of the siege contradicts the police account of what happened.

Geoffrey Fieger, an attorney for the family of young Aiyana Jones, said he has seen three or four minutes of video of the raid, although he declined to say whether it was shot by the crew for the A&E series "The First 48," which has been shadowing Detroit homicide detectives for months.

Police have said officers threw a flash grenade through the first-floor window of the two-family home, and that an officer's gun discharged, killing the girl, during a struggle or after colliding with the girl's grandmother inside the home.

But Fieger said the video shows an officer lobbing the grenade and then shooting into the home from the porch.

"There is no question about what happened because it's in the videotape," Fieger said. "It's not an accident. It's not a mistake. There was no altercation."

"Aiyana Jones was shot from outside on the porch. The videotape shows clearly the officer throwing through the window a stun grenade-type explosive and then within milliseconds of throwing that, firing a shot from outside the home," he said.

A&E spokesman Dan Silberman said neither he nor anyone else from the network would comment about the case, and he denied a request by The Associated Press for the footage.

Detroit police were trying to obtain the film crew's footage, Assistant Chief Ralph Godbee said Monday.

Fieger said the investigation into what happened during the raid "needed to go no further than the videotape."

"The videotape shows clearly that the assistant police chief and the officers on the scene are engaging in an intentional cover up of the events," Fieger said. He said more than one camera was recording at the scene, and that the footage includes sound.
Oh hell-to-the-naw on this one po-po. And the officer in question as the article goes on to say, was cleared of another shooting last summer? Thankfully nobody died that time, but dammit if this isn't some bullshit! Shooting into the apartment from the porch? Did they really think the story of a tussle for the gun would fly when the cameras from The First 48 was along for the ride? If anything, I think the presence of a camera crew had a lot to do with the actions of the officer in question. Something tells me he may have been on some 'ol extra shit, and showing out as he played Super Cop for all the world to see when the episode aired.

No trial for white cop who murdered 73yr old unarmed black man

"People here are afraid of the police. They harass black people, they stop people for no reason and rough them up without charging them with anything." - Terry Willis (Vice President of the Homer NAACP chapter)

You may remember the story surrounding the death of 73yr old Bernard Monroe around this time last year. Out here in the blogosphere there was much chatter about after he was gunned down by a police officer in his front yard in Homer, Louisiana. At the time, there was much outrage within that small community, which heightened racial tensions beyond the norm. If you're not familiar with the story, check out the following clip:

Now this was last year, and as the report above noted, there was an investigation by several agencies at the local, state, and federal level. Well guess what? After all those tax-payer funded man hours dedicated to the investigation, a grand jury decided last Thursday not to indict the police officer of any criminal wrong doing.
NEW ORLEANS – A grand jury on Thursday declined to indict a white police officer who shot an elderly black man in the small Louisiana town of Homer in a case that heightened racial tension and sparked protests.

The panel returned a “no true bill,” meaning the case won’t go to trial, after considering and rejecting a range of charges including murder, manslaughter and negligent homicide against former police officer Tim Cox.

Many in the rural town of 3,800 were outraged by the shooting last February of Bernard Monroe, a 73-year-old left voiceless by cancer. Police said Monroe was armed when he was shot outside his home, but witnesses said he didn’t have a weapon.

The grand jury heard testimony from 20 witnesses over two days, said Kurt Wall, director of the criminal division of the state attorney general’s office. The attorney general handled the case after the local prosecutor recused himself.

“We believe it was a full, complete, accurate and thorough presentation conducted at a neutral site. We respect the grand jury’s decision,” Wall said.

An FBI spokeswoman said the bureau is continuing to investigate the case. (click to read more)
You know it's hard to remain hopeful when you hear the outcome of stories such as this one. For people of color in this country this has become all too common. But yet we're supposed to believe the idea that we now have the glorious distinction of being able to be living in a post-racial society? Why? Because a black man was elected president of these United States? The same black man who coincidentally hasn't uttered a word in the face of tragedies such as this? Man please!  White folks saying that we're "post-racial," is like hedge fund managers saying that we're "post-poverty." Try telling that shit to the relatives of Bernard Monroe.

Black police showin' out for the white cop

So a few days ago I heard about the talk about some cop pulling out a gun in DC to breakup a snowball fight. I'll be honest, I never read the story nor really cared to. But then I heard that it was caught on tape and my interest was piqued somewhat especially when I heard he was black. My voyeuristic fetish took hold and I couldn't help going over to YouTube to fulfill my need. And you know what? I'm glad that I did because it provided a much needed and timely break from the stress of life, because to me, the shit was funny:

Suicide by Cop: Is that what they call it when they shoot a mentally disturbed man 59 times?

I've heard the term suicide by cop a time or two in recent years. And lemme tell you, I'm not buying it; at least not in all cases. What ever happened to the good old days when people just hung themselves, shot themselves in the head, slit their wrists, or any one of the various ways of committing suicide. OK, yeah, so it's a known fact that cops have itchy trigger fingers, and yes I can see someone using that to their benefit. But instigating an encounter with the police to end your life seems more like a call to attention than a death wish in my book.

According to the boys in blue down in the city of Chattanooga, TN., that's just what that seemingly happy Black man, Alonzo Heyward in the pic above did in a recent encounter. Allegedly, he was distraught and suicidal after a night of drinking and returning from a party; he walked around his neighborhood with a rifle threatening to kill himself. When confronted by the police he was shot and killed by 6 white police officers who fired at him 59 times, hitting his body 43 times total according to the medical examiners report:

Now I know the job of the police department is a rather dangerous one. And yes, I can understand them being apprehensive and fearful coming into contact with an emotionally disturbed individual. In also know that they're trained on how to tactically diffuse encounters with people mentally disturbed, or under the influence. But be that as it may, can you tell me that shooting this man, tha manner in which they did, was justified? Sure it can be said that they may have felt their lives threatened, or he made a move. But again, firing upon him 59 times? Of course this is overkill, and will be "justified" by the police as always. But could they have not done any better?

According to witnesses, Heyward was lying on his rifle on the porch at the time they opened fire. Now that said, how in the world can this be a justified shooting? Also, before the was shot they tried to subdue him with a stun gun. Um, the way tasers have been killing people all across the country, how come that didn't work? According to a police spokesperson on the case, Chattanooga police spend anywhere from 2 to 4 hours per year in training for situations like this. Given the outcome in this situation where Alonzo's life was lost? I'd say it's either they need more time spent in training, or they never cared about his life to begin with.

Oh boy, another "accidental" shooting of a Black man by the police

Yeah, police shootings involving minorities are nothing new. Often they are a source of community rage, and rightfully so. What is it going to take to get this type of slaughter to stop? Well, some may say that it's the fault of the thugs who are a menace throughout our community. In other words, it is the behavior or actions of certain minorities that predicate the use of excessive force. I'd like to know your thoughts on that. Especially since I just read the story where a Black man was shot by the police in Harlem New York several hours ago.

Yeah, apparently these undercover cops saw a Black man chasing someone down the street as he carried a gun and shot him. Yup, they fired six times hitting this "running man" at least three times causing his death. Oh yeah, that's him in the pic above and I'm sure you can tell he's Black. Well, here's the messed up part of this story: the man they shot and killed was an off duty police officer who had just got off the clock [read story here]. Yeah, I suppose cops can be Black and get shot by other cops. What's the common denominator? He was Black so hey, shoot first and ask questions later, right? Oh well, I guess "accidents" do happen, and I guess this is just another one in a long line of them.

I'm guessing that 25yr old officer Omar J. Edwards was at fault just like all those other thugs in the community, right? I mean how dare he chase a person down who he happened to encounter breaking into his car just a few blocks from the police station where he worked. Yeah, chasing people was dumb, and waving his gun was even more stupid, right? Uh huh, he was wrong, and those cops were justified in shooting at him six times in an attempt to stop him too, right? Hell, what if an innocent bystander what shot and killed as well. Would we give the cops a pass and blame the bystander? I'm tired of talking because the more I think of this "accident" the more upset I'm becoming. This was a man who I didn't even know, but yet he was another Black man shot down in his prime; but yet some people are going to say that his crime was his skin color. Well, tell that to his recently married wife and two young children and see if they would accept that. It's bad enough that Black folks are being tasered to death by the police, and now even their own aren't safe because they're Black.

What say you?

Lovelle Mixon: Not Your Average American Idol

Listen up Black people: Tony "Scarface" Montana wasn't real, and Tupac is dead, OK? So, did you get that Black people? Yes, I know how some of you idolize these images and persona's. Yes I do, and yeah, maybe hip hop is to blame for it a little bit, but those two people were both figments of the imagination of someone intent on making some money. That said, would you stop it with the worship already?! I swear before God and four fat Negroes with Al Sharpton's perm that this shit has to stop.

Of course I like the movie "Scarface", and yeah, Tupac was a hip hop legend. But when you people look to Lovelle Mixon as some type of hero or martyr for killing those four cops in Oakland, this weekend, people like these folks right here are stupid. Lovelle Mixon was no hero. Although I never knew the guy, I'm pretty sure its safe to say that he never did shit for his community. I'm just saying, if he did, we would have already known about the dude. As far as I've heard, its not like he was a Black Panther or someone the likes of the Black men and women who sought justice back in Oakland circa the 1960's. I mean, we're not talking about Mumia Abu-Jamal. Lovelle Mixon is what one can appropriately term: a menace to society.

What we do know about him, is that he was on parole, and had an extensive criminal background. From what I read in this article right here, he was questioned as a suspect in a murder, and did time in prison (6yrs) for assault with a deadly weapon during an armed robbery. And why did he make the conscious decision to blast at the cops after a routine traffic stop? Because he knew there was a warrant for his arrest for violating his parole, for skipping out on a meeting with his parole officer.

"This is a strange one," said Oakland police Capt. Steve Tull, who is overseeing the investigation. "We don't know what his motivation is." If authorities found he had violated the conditions of his parole, Mixon would have faced at most six months in prison, Tull said.

Mixon "weighed six months" against his own life and the lives of the officers, Tull said.

Relatives of Mixon gathered Sunday morning at an East Oakland home where the parolee had been living until recently. They publicly apologized to the officers' families and said they were shocked by the sudden burst of violence that has devastated their city.

"He's not a monster," said his sister, 24-year-old Enjoli Mixon, who said her 4-year-old daughter's bedroom in a small apartment on 74th Avenue was the scene of much of the bloodshed. It was there, police said, where Mixon fired through a closet wall at a team of SWAT officers, who then shot and killed him. "I don't want people to think he's a monster. He's just not. He's just not."

"We're crushed that this happened," added the gunman's grandmother, Mary Mixon. "Our hearts and prayers go out to the officers' families. ... This shouldn't have happened." - SOURCE

Did his ass have Oscar Grant on his mind when he pulled the trigger? I doubt it. Lovelle's punk ass just didn't wanna go back to prison. Yup, Lovelle obviously took Tupac Shakur's line, "They never take me alive, I'm gettin' high wit ma fo' five" a little bit too seriously. So what did he do? He went out like "Tony Montana". Yep, and he probably yelled, "Say hello to my little friend," when he did. And for his actions, there a few people who herald him as a hero.

Aww RiPPa you wasn't there, so you don't even know how it happened. You know how them cops be lyin' dawg!

You're right, I wasn't there. But I do know that some of my cousins are looking at his actions as payback for the innocent police murder of fellow Oakland native Oscar Grant. I'm all about justice for the family of Oscar Grant - a man who was shot by BART cops and not cops from the city of Oakland by the way - but lets not use the idiotic actions of Lovelle Mixon as a "Fuck The Police" moment. Sure there are people who are still upset about the senseless loss of life of Oscar Grant, but there's no way what this man did was justice for anyone.

If anything, what he did makes it harder for young Black males who are already under police scrutiny, and are consistently racially profiled. That's right, this prick is just what they expect to run up against when on patrol. Uh huh, because of this idiot, cops everywhere are going to expect all Black men to be packing semi-automatic pistols and AK-47's in their buttcheeks. Uh huh, just like this fine citizen, who is now laying dead on a cold slab right about now. I promise you, if silly Negroes start rioting over this fool I'm going to chop somebody in the throat. OK, so I'll never do something like that, but I just might punch my own damn self.

Look, I know his family is probably in pain right now, and yes I feel for them. However, there are four dead police officers who never got the chance to even go home after their shift because of this guy. I don't give a rats ass if he passed out turkeys every Thanksgiving in the hood, this guy was no hero. Hero's save cats from trees, fight social injustice, save lives, and are super-hero's on NBC.

They also do another host of great things, but they damn sure are not the type of people like Lovelle Mixon. I feel for the relatives of the four dead policemen. Yes I do, and yes, cops do get a bum rap because of the shitty ones on the force. Even so, those four cops didn't deserve to die the way they did. I swear...Negroes take this movie shit way too seriously. I just wish for once, that they'd pay attention to the part where the "hero" always dies in the end.
