Rutgers University Pays "Snooki" $32,000 for Appearance, Toni Morrison, Not So Much

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi from 'Jersey Shore' spoke at Rutgers University and told students to "study hard, but party harder," and got paid $32,000 to do so. Meanwhile, Nobel Prize-winning author and scholar Toni Morrison is scheduled to speak at Rutgers' commencement ceremony next month, and is being paid less. OK, so its $2000 less, but still...

There's a racial angle in there somewhere, but score one for dumb broads who don't read. I mean, nobody actually cares about the fact that the median net worth of single Black women being $5 as compared to white women who in their prime working years (36-49) have a median wealth of $42,000, according to the Insight Center for Community Economic Development's "Lifting as We Climb" study conducted last year. But like I said, there just might be a racial angle in there somewhere; either that or I'm just reaching. I ain't sayin' she a gold-digger, but she ain't messin' with no broke broke...

My baby sister, the youngest of the RiPPa clan attends Rutgers, and suddenly I'm afraid. Suddenly I'm concerned about her party to study ratio, and I can only hope that she uses good judgment in that regard. As hooked on celebrity as society has become in recent years, it would be a shame if were to eventually flunk out of college after following the advice of a television reality show star.

Even more troubling was the fact that Snooki was paid by funds via the mandatory student activity fees, which is funded by student tuition. I guess that in itself is no surprise since here in America, you get what you pay for. Which reminds me of why I don't feel so bad about missing Steve Harvey's book signing appearance at Barnes & Nobles here in Memphis today. Or maybe I'll go and see if he'll gimme a dollar after I ask him for it. What? I'm famous, bitch; I own and operate a friggin' blog!! Yeah, fuck college!!!

Aaron Hall needs some money y'all!

It seems like my man Charlie Wilson from the super group The Gap Band never gets old. Every time I'm in the ride cruising to the grown folks radio station, it's like I always hear something new from the brother. Yep, and I'm talking quality music too, and not just some bullshit record either. I'm talking grown folks music. Charlie has come a long way and beating his drug addiction, as well as being able to be relevant in the music industry as he is today, is a testament in itself to talent and will power.

I always thought my man Aaron Hall from the group Guy back in the late 80s sounded a lot like Charlie Wilson. Matter of fact, if it wasn't for the Teddy Riley ad-lib "Yep Yep," every 20 seconds on a track, you probably would have thought it was The Gap Band with a spash of Hip Hop. When Guy covered The Gap Band's classic "Yearning For Your Love" it didn't help either.Thinking back now, I'm sure even Charlie Wilson was proud of that cover.; I thought it was well done.

I loved the group Guy, and I kinda wished they would have stayed around a lot longer than hey did. If not just for people like me who did the Roger Rabbit when "Groove Me" came on, but for Aaron Hall. Have you seen what that brother is up to these days? Yeah, I know you probably caught him on the BET Awards this year during the old school segment like I did. Yeah, I know, dude couldn't even breathe, while he danced and sang. Uh-huh, I thought he was gonna fall out on the stage. It's obvious that he hasn't been singing much lately, just take a look at what he's up to now.

Meet the newest cast member of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" (VIDEO)

I know upon viewing this some of you are going to be upset, but...

You gotta admit: she'd give those ladies on that show a run for their money. I'm just sayin': why get mad or even upset after seeing this verbal display, wasn't it as entertaining as the show? Hell, with Real Housewives of Atlanta currently carrying a total viewership of 2.9 million according to Nielsen Media Research, why not add this kid to the mix and be even more entertaining. Teach her how to pull out a white woman's hair, sleep with married men, wear shitty weaves and makeup and she'll be set, right? I mean the show is about reality, is it not?

I wonder if her mother's last name is Leakes...
