I think it's pretty funny how "certain people" scrutinize Barack Obama and any member of his immediate family when they travel overseas. It's almost like people are following their every move because they expect them to do something that of course qualifies them as un-American. This much attention has never been paid to any other first family in history; and even though I kinda have an idea, I still wonder why this is so.
I'm not sure if Barack gets this much attention because of the fact that he's black. I mean, black folks in America were entering restaurants via back doors just last week, so I'm sure for some white folks, his etiquette may be a concern. I'm pretty sure when he goes to other countries and meet dignitaries, and it's televised nationally, people expect him to act "niggerish", throw out a few fist bumps, and curse on occasion.
What, that's just what black folks do, right?
Sure it sounds stereotypical, but I can't be mad if that's what they expect. Hell, every president before Obama has entered other countries by jumping out of a plane wearing a green beret a la John Wayne. I mean this is the first black president so quite naturally "certain people" expect to see a Richard Pryor routine with a few crotch grabs, and few choice words thrown in for good measure.
But not our Barack Obama. Our president has carried himself with much grace as would any black guy raised by white folks. Sorry white America, it's the other Negroes you have to worry about; you know, the ones raised without a fathers while their welfare queen mothers stay in and out of jail while addicted to crack. Yes white America, no need to worry, our president though black is somewhat privileged like some of you.
As we near the November election, many right wingers are getting more insane and nutty in their rhetoric. The most offensive part is that they do so with the Holy Bible in their hands and are followed by people who claim to know Jesus.
Rather than just give a bunch of verses from the Bible that could easily be dismissed and taken out of their context, I will instead offer words spoken by Jesus himself. Though many will find excerpts from their own verses to refute many of the points offered below, the fact remains, based on his direct words, JESUS himself would not agree with the RIGHT WING.
So I told you what was wrong with Dr. Laura and other melanin challenged folks who think like her the other day. Yes, I'm still of the belief that she needs to embrace her inner cracker. Don't run from it; embrace it.
You know RiPPa's down for anything meant to improve racial harmony, and promote feelings of post-racial Utopian Kumbaya, right? But unfortunately, you guys are the only ones who listen to me. Yep, nobody wants to listen to the ex-racism-chasing expert as he eulogizes the pre-post racial days long gone bye.

Yep, even Dr. Laura - who could have learned a thing or two from my last post - isn't quite willing to let go of the old and embrace the new. Instead of digging deep down inside in the wake of her now infamous on-air "nigger moment", and embracing her inner cracker-ass-cracker, she decides to quit talk radio.
I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again: Barack Obama being elected president has motivated some of the most twisted, yet ingenious minds in America. That said, what better day is there to show your disdain for him as a true act of American patriotism than the fourth of July.

I really don't understand how some white people rationalize stuff in their heads. If this is the best way to protect the country, I suppose we should bring the troops home; because, if we throw in a few bumper stickers then we've won the war against Al Queda, and the illegal immigrants I suppose. Oh well, it's a white thing; and obviously my black-president-loving-ass won't understand.
Sorry, I'm all for the freedom of expression; but defending your bigotry for profit just doesn't sit well with me. But then again, isn't this just what the Tea party has been doing for the last year and a half? Look, as blue as the grass is in Kentucky, I bet there were a few of these proud racist folks buying up these T-Shirts as a Christmas stocking stuffer. On some real talk, I can't knock the hustle; hell, racism is as American as apple pie. And to be honest, I wish more white folks were (to borrow a word from Eric Holder) less cowardly.
Since writing about the recent tragic death of two police officers in West Memphis. I've come to realize that there are lord knows how many crazy people, like Jerry Kane among us. I posted the video discussing the news story last week to my YouTube channel, and ever since I've been at a loss reading the responses from some of the viewers (no seriously, you gotta go to my channel and read that shit). Sure there was the occasional fuck the police comment here and there. But what got me, was the fact that people were heralding him as a hero.
Many of them self-identify as sovereign citizens themselves. Some of them left comments about grand conspiracy theories involving Barack Obama of all people! Yes, these crazy folks are of the belief that Jerry Kane and his son were targeted by the Obama administration! Yep, according to them, he was taken out by CIA assassins. One of them even pointed me to a website that had the inside scoop or the truth on the entire incident written by famed internet hoax queen, Sorcha Faal.
Like me, you've probably never heard of Jerry Kane. Chances are, the two West Memphis police officers he killed after a traffic stop a few days ago didn't either. But here we are a few days removed from that tragic event where four lives were senselessly lost here in the mid-south. And just what was his reasoning? Well, the picture seems to be a bit clearer as to just who 45yr old Jerry Kane actually was:
Jerry Kane was not a man wanted by the police; he wasn't on the run for murder or any other serious crime. Instead, like a few we've seen emerge over the last year and a half. He was a man with a belief. A firm belief which suggests, that government encroaches upon his freedoms, here in the US of A. Yes, Jerry Kane was a right-wing, anti-government, white supremacist who made no bones about what he stood for or believed. He believed himself to be a sovereign citizen, or more specifically, a member of the Christian Patriot movement.
People like Kane with a similar mindset, or ideology, have long existed in this country. But the question I have is why does it seem like these folks are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden? When within months of each other, an angry white man flies a plane into an IRS building, and a group of people identified as a Christian Extremist Militia are arrested by the FBI. One has to ask: What the fuck is really going on in America?
What's causing all of this? Surely it cannot be the election of a black president, or the subsequent racist anti-government rhetoric that has suddenly dominated our political landscape. Surely that has nothing to do with it, no? I'm guessing we'll have to wait on an assassination attempt on the president before that question can be answered.
I mean this isn't exactly one of those cults waiting on a spaceship to take them to another world beyond the stars. These are people who aren't afraid to act on their beliefs. These are people who are resigned to the fact that if innocent people are injured in the process, then so be it. In the case of Kane, those innocent victims were not only two West Memphis police officers, but also his 16yr old son who he has withheld from attending school his entire life. A life cut short because of the marriage of politics and religion.
Look, I often highlight the wrong doings of police officers across the country on this site; police officers who are sworn to uphold the law, who deserve to be exposed for their actions. But I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the fact that theirs is a function that is extremely dangerous. It is bad enough that they have to encounter the obvious criminal element among us, and risk their lives. But it is even scarier to think that there are people like Jerry Kane who though not criminals, are willing to commit murder and assault authority, all because of his belief.
I hate to say it, but the world is better without him. And lastly, his friends and family have some nerve demanding compensation from the West Memphis police department for the burial of this asshole. But hey, that's how that white privilege thing works, no? Ideology aside, I say that much of his entitlement is predicated on him being a white man. But I could be wrong, and Barack Obama could be right. Maybe they do cling to their guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren't like them, as a way to express their frustrations.
Nine suspected members of a militia group were charged Monday with seditious conspiracy and related charges, federal prosecutors said.
A federal grand jury in Detroit, Michigan, indicted six Michigan residents, two Ohioans and an Indianan on the conspiracy charges, plus attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, teaching the use of explosive materials and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence, U.S. Attorney Barbara L. McQuade and Andrew Arena, FBI special agent in charge, announced.
The five-count indictment unsealed Monday charges that since August 2008, the defendants, acting as a Lenawee County, Michigan, militia group called the Hutaree, conspired to oppose by force the authority of the U.S. government.
The suspects were identified as David Brian Stone, 45; his wife, Tina Stone, 44; his son, Joshua Matthew Stone, 21, of Clayton, Michigan; and another son, David Brian Stone Jr., 19, of Adrian, Michigan; Joshua Clough, 28, of Blissfield, Michigan; Michael Meeks, 40, of Manchester, Michigan; Thomas Piatek, 46, of Whiting, Indiana; Kristopher Sickles, 27, of Sandusky, Ohio; and Jacob Ward, 33, of Huron, Ohio.
Let me get straight to the point. I think it's amusing that whenever a bunch of crazy white folks who are pissed off at the American government decide to engage in stupid shit, like create their own languages and defend themselves against a government that has ONLY ever looked out for their interests first, the media and the government itself never calls them terrorists. They are part of a "militia."

See if you were to substitute their names with Arabic or Persian ones, and change their "god" to Allah, it would be straight up terrorism. They would be insurgents, terrorists looking to harm the American people.
These people are a bunch of crazies, but they are no different than some weirdo hiding out in the hills of Pakistan or Afghanistan conspiring to take down the Americans and their government for being infidels ie Anti-Allah/Anti-Islam.
I guess it would make us look hypocritical if we took down terrorists in other countries while our own homegrown madasses ran unchecked.
Terrorists only come in shades other than white and religions other than Christian.
Ok, wait, holdup. I know you're probably thinking something is wrong with me. Yes, I realize that the title of this post has thrown you for a loop. Uh huh, yeah, how in the hell can RiPPa support the Lone Star state seceding from the union that is, the United States of America? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you're also thinking either I'm sick or was held down in some backroom by a few of the right-wing republican loons who are all now suddenly trolling this blog. But listen, you guys know that I love this country enough to criticize it as James Baldwin says. And yes, with that said, there is no way I would be about running off and forming my own country. So you know there has to be something to me supporting secession, right?

Nor is it even about this great nation being lead down a path of destruction by a presumed racist but intellectually inferior Black man; truth be told, in this country we're all stupid and we have a hard time supporting anyone for president who is Black not a C-student. So why do I support secession? Because this is about crazy gun loving, gun totting, red-blood pumping idiots who live among us.
You see, the way I see it, these people in the clip above are just that. And, since they say everything is bigger in Texas. I can only imagine just how many of them are currently breathing good American air. These are people who should be all stranded on an Island with Gilligan somewhere. But since that's not gonna happen I say go ahead and give them their own country. See, what's gonna happen is that the rest of patriotic fools who supported America George Bush when billions were being spent at war, are all gonna pack up and move to the nation of Texas faster than Jed Clampett got to Beverly Hills. And for America (you know the rest of us?), that would be a great thing.
Yeah, forget a pending bloodbath or pissing on the tree of liberty. Just go ahead and make it legal for them to do just that. And right after it's done? We build a fence and keep their silly asses out. Yeah, how's that for handling the border problem problem with idiots in this country. I mean, what would the country have to lose? The Dallas Cowboys? Hell, if you believe in that they’re America's team, then I guess it's safe to say that America is all about losing, and that’s not good for our image. Oh you say we'll lose oil? Lose that good ole Texas tea? We import more oil than we produce domestically anyway, and besides there's always Alaska and all the oil Sarah Palin didn’t steal.
So yeah, give them their own country; give us the peace of mind of not having to live among loons. Trust me; this would be a win win situation. Besides, I think it would be fun watching White people sneak into America just like the Mexicans whom they despise very much. At the end of the day they’ll need us more than we need them, and there is something comical about picturing White ex-patriots selling oranges under a freeway. I think this is just the action that will give president Obama’s approval rating, a much needed boost, and revive beloved Texan George Bush's role as Lord of the Flies, and that folks, is a good thing.
