Anthony Weiner's Resignation, & the Pussification of Democrats in Congress

I don't think Anthony Weiner should have resigned. OK, lemme rephrase that: I don't think Anthony Weiner should have been forced to resign by members of his own party. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they say he was a distraction. But I'm sorry, the distraction meme wasn't being pushed by Republicans; it was done by Democrats. And you know what I think? Calling it a distraction when you don't even command the majority in the House to affect change is some bitchass shit. Yes, and president Obama giving the dude the kiss of death was another bitch move on the part of the White House. Not Shirley Sherrod bad, but still.

I mean, what exactly did Weiner do other than have the unfortunate pleasure of having his last name and sending pictures of his crotch to a few females online? I could be wrong, but I don't remember Democrats calling for president Bill Clinton to step down after getting some head and leaving cum stains on a dress at the Oval office? So why play the card now? Why not leave it up to the Republican glass-house-dwellers to do the stone throwing? Why not leave it up to them to ask r suggest that he resign? No seriously, did Democrats hate him that much? What, are certain Democrats still upset about his fight for the Public Option?

Did he upset the applecart by being a bit too loud and ambitious?

So now that the distraction is gone. I suppose Democrats are now going to be able to convince Republicans to put forth a real jobs bill. Yep, now that the Weiner has pulled out, now Democrats are going to be able to get back to the job of making things right in America that they failed to do when they gad the majority before last November. I'm sorry, but I think Nancy Pelosi, president Obama, and all the other Democrats in leadership who suggested his resignation are spineless. Weiner should still be in Congress, and it should have been up to his constituents to decide whether he stays or goes much like they did for Charlie Rangel. Yes he lied, but he also apologized. The only thing he should have done differently aside from sending those pics was to change his last name before he did. To me, that was the distraction the media pounced on.

Whose Dick is This? Uhh, Yours Anthony?

by Eco.Soul.Intellectual

The age of the social media highway is quite intriguing. A dick here, a dick there, and a dick on Twitter. Thanks to Congressman Anthony Weiner who just admitted he has an obsessive proclivity for showing his man parts to random women, has also defied the rule of thumb to step down.

In an unconvincing apology, Weiner declared that he will continue operating in his Congressional position in a raw-dog riding stallion sort-a-way. Pun intended.

Is Weiner attempting to stop the trend of outted public officials (and pastors) who can't deny their embedded stank-freakiness due to photographic evidence and silently leave (or settle a lawsuit) in disgrace?

I bet is favorite position is Doggystyle, that little porn star.

Hypocrisy: Democrats Silent As President Obama Extends The Patriot Act

I remember when George Bush signed The Patriot Act back in the day, and just how pissed off us lefty lovers of liberty and justice were. I also remember just how appaled we were about the countless instances where people were arrested, held indefinitely in jails across the country, for practically nothing related to 9/11 and or any other terroristic threats or activities. And now here we are today and president Obama has extended The Patriot Act, and yet there's not a word of dissent, disgust, or even disappointment from anyone identified as an Obama supporter. Of course to do so would mean you're racist; and that's not cool. Nope, not in post-racial America where "Blackness" now means no excuses for regular Black folk, and a free pass if you happen to be POTUS.

So, can anyone tell me just exactly what the fuck actually changed? Oh, all of a sudden it's cool to infringe on our civil liberties because, well, the sitting president happens to be a Democrat? OK, so lemme get this right: Osama bin Laden is dead, Al-Qaeda has been reduced to about 12 people after trillions spent on a bullshit war on terror; but the war continues, and yet and still it's important to keep legislation alive which allows the government to give you an anal probe whenever they feel like it without probable cause?

But anyway, lemme stop my tired-ass Liberal/Progressive whining before Seal Team 6 shows up at my door ready to pump something not-so-nice into my booty, and dump my fat ass in the Mississippi river in some secret mission.

Too bad they didn't have this shit when Negroes were terrorized...

GUEST BLOGGER: You Big Dummy: How Black Folks Gave GOP the Nation

by Dr. Torrance Stephens

Imagine this; Fred Sanford is at home, sitting down listening to the election returns from around the nation on his radio from NPR. Well not really, imagine me at home in the bed listening to the national election results on the radio, after all that’s what amounted for my entertainment last night. All I could say to myself, upon return upon return were Mr. Sanford’s legendary description of his son Lamont “you big dummy.”

It seemed to fit the evening correctly, both in terms of describing the democrats and the Obama administration and the fools who voted the GOP in office around the country by a historic level. In fact not since 1948, when Truman was president have we seen such a large take over of the house by one party. We know what happened nationally, now in the US House of representatives the GOP controls 239 seats, a pick up of 60 and also added 10 gubernatorial seats that they swiped from democrats

But even more troubling is what occurred on the state levels. In Georgia for example, the second Republican governor was elected in a row since 2002. Prior to this Georgia had not had a Republican Governor since Reconstruction. And for your history Buffs that is since Benjamin Conley in 1872, who ironically was one of the persons who assisted in promoting harsh resolutions condemning the state's failure to comply with the Reconstruction Acts of Congress in the organization of the General Assembly in an effort to reseat the colored members, kicked out by democrats:“A former Whig, Conley had opposed secession and retired to his plantation near Montgomery, Alabama, for the duration of the war. On his return to Georgia after the surrender it was natural for him to join the Republicans and to support the congressional plan for Reconstruction.

But back to my point. In the state house the won 17 seats giving republicans 107 of the 180 seats and in the senate the control 37 of the 56 district senate seats.

Now what caused this? I don’t listen to pundits but I have my own developed postulate on the outcome. Now unlike many I don’t credit this too the Tea (Taxed enough Already) party, and don’t understand how folk, especially black folk can suggest such when they likely don’t even know what the acronym stand for or their beliefs, albeit most of which are rooted in agoraphobic based nativism. But I can say first and foremost is President Obama.

Alvin Greene Gets Kicked Out of a South Carolina Restuarant

Sometimes I cringe visibly in public when I'm in the vicinity of niggerish behavior; and by vicinity I mean, well, let's just say the same country; foreign niggeration doesn't affect me as much; for all I know those people are from Detroit; you know, that third world country in the Midwest?

But anyway, my man Alvin Greene is back in the news and in true Alvin Greene form - the kind that makes you stare off into space with a perpetual drool hangs from your lip - he's finally proven to be an embarrassment to me. Can you imagine that? Me? Yeah, the one guy who's been team Alvin all along?

This from The Hill:
South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Alvin Greene was ejected from a South Carolina restaurant by police on Tuesday after his companion got into a fight with other patrons, the Associated Press reports.

According to police, Greene had originally been invited to address officials at a monthly meeting of the Oconee County Democratic Party, but the invitation was rescinded following Greene's Aug. 13 felony indictment on charges of disseminating, procuring or promoting obscenity, after he was accused of showing pornography to a college student.

Seneca Police Chief John Covington told the AP that Tuesday that Greene showed up at the event despite the withdrawing of his invitation, whereupon his female companion began to fight with other patrons. Organizers called police, who escorted Greene and his companion, who was not named in the report, from the restaurant.
So you're running for Congress and you get kicked out because of some hoodrat chick? A chick probably upset because she wasn't gonna be able to stuff her swap-meet Gucci knock-off purse with delectable edibles known to elude the hoochie-mamma kind? You know she told the hood of her new-found status, right?

C'mon son!

Get kicked out of a movie theater for talking too loud or something like that. Not from an event where people had to get dressed up in their Sunday's best!

And what was his ass even doing attending the event?!

Sorry, I'm not gonna buy the "nobody told me not to come," line. Somebody had to call and inform him that his me-so-horny-ass wasn't welcome. But I guess when you think you should be an action figure...

The Black Vote: Taken for granted, ignored, or necessary?

The black vote is important because it represents the behavior of a group of people whose voting power had been denied. However, the black vote is unique because African American voting behavior is intrinsically rooted in the people's history. Since the Reconstruction, the general behavior of blacks is to vote in block, either for one party or the other. Until Roosevelt came into the presidency and began the New Deal, blacks were committed to the Republican party.

So what happened? Looking back at the 2008 presidential elections, where blacks voted overwhelmingly Democrat, the question still remains: Just what went wrong or has changed?

Tonight we'll break it down with a robust panel of guests representative of Democrats, Republican, and Independents. Most notably to present the case for the Republican party, will be Cladio Simpkins and Lenny McAllister, both of the Hip Hop Republican. Also joining us would be Kris Broughton of Brown Man Thinking Hard, Joshua Lazards of Uppity Negro Network, and Kriss of The Insanity Report - all notable writers and contributors within the black blogosphere.

Central to our discussion is the question: Which party today, best represents the interest of black America? Tonight, our guests will all make their best case for the parties with whom they identify. Do join me, Max Reddick, and The Janitor; feel free to share your opinions, and you be the judge, on Freedom Thru Speech Radio at 8pm EST/7pm CST. Until then, you tell me which political party or ideology, best represents the interest of Black America.

Who ya' with and why?

Wat'chu gonna do, when Obamamania runs away from youuuuu...Brother!

Did ya catch what went down in Massachusetts with the special election for Ted Kennedy's seat yesterday? Did you see that? Did you know that a Republican won a seat in a democratic stronghold? A seat that has held up the butt-cheeks of a Democrat for the last 35yrs? So how did that happen? I really would like to hear your thoughts on that. Was it a poorly ran campaign by Coakley? Bad strategy by the DNC? Health-care? Not enough attention paid to the people on Main Street?

No matter what you think, it's important to note that this was indeed a wake up call for the Democratic party who a few years ago were given a mandate "by the people," to get a handle on this thing and get it working. That was in 2006, and four years later look at where we're at now. New Jersey, Virginia, and now a Massachusetts senate seat lost? I'm not gonna throw out my opinion as to what needs to be done specifically; I think if you've been reading this blog long enough you'll already know where I stand. Even with the people giving another mandate which produced the first black president, it seems that they were not listening in-spite of poll after poll yelling loud and clear.

DEVIL'S ADVOCATE: ARE BLACKS WRONG WITH THEIR VOTE?

So as I sat here playing "Count The Black People" as I watched the RNC, it hit me: There aren't many Black Republicans. At last count, I think I saw maybe 12 of them in attendance. Why is that? Could it be that Black Republicans are on the "down low" and hiding it from the rest of us? Abraham Lincoln, who had almost the same identical political resume as Barack Obama before becoming president, freed the slaves. For that alone, you'd think there would be more Black Republicans. However, we know the truth to be different.

We also know that it took years for Blacks to gain the right to vote, and we also know the struggle for equality. Could it be that Blacks have been rooting for the wrong team? What do you think? Could it be that the Democratic party has held Black people back? Or could it be that Blacks have held themselves back by supporting the Democrats? Sure I know that there have been more Democratic black appointees in gov't than there are Republican. But just think about it: The Republicans have been running this country far longer than the Democrats have. That being said, are Blacks foolish for supporting the Democratic party?

Are the Democrats, or have the Democrats "used" Blacks as a bargaining chip without any regard when it comes to winning votes? I'm just thinking out loud about some stuff here and maybe you can help me answer some questions. Of course you don't have to be black to have an answer; honestly I'd like to hear opinions from all who reads this. Other than blacks themselves, who's responsible for holding blacks back politically? Like I said, I'm watching the RNC, and I'm trying to count the black people. And I honestly don't see an outreach for black votes from the GOP. Could it be that they don't need them? Maybe they don't. If you remember a few years ago, George Bush conveniently skipped speaking at ths NAACP National Conference.

I know I've asked many questions. And I'm sure there are many more that I can ask or could be asked. But, I see alot of rich white people who happen to be republicans, and I see alot of black people who are poor. And lets be honest, don't we all wanna be rich? But then again, very few Black people are comfortable as being labeled "uppity negroes" or "elitists" as white folks call them these days. Nor are they accepting of being labeled "Uncle Toms" if they're sucessful and vote republican. So tell me: Would Blacks be better off if we were to support the republican party the way we've unanimously supported the democrats in recent histor? What if Barack Obama was a republican? Would your opinions be different?

What say you?
