Why I Cried When Osama Bin Laden Died

As I got ready to climb into bed, my husband looked up at me with an urgent look on his face.

"Do you know that Osama Bin Laden was killed?  It's all over my Facebook."

I told him to turn it to CNN and sure enough there it was.  The screen showed happy people in front of the White House rejoicing, waving American flags.  They were rejoicing in New York.  The news was at a fever pitch.

At first I was happy.  Not jump around happy, but I was very happy.  It was an amalgamation of feelings.  I felt that this would be beneficial to President Obama, and Democrats in general.  I wanted to feel like this made wrongs right, but then reality set in again, and I became deeply saddened.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that God is in control.  I am happy that Osama Bin Laden has transitioned because there's no justice we could ever dispense in this life that could ease, or sadly erase, the pain that man caused.

The sad fact is his death didn't do anything to bring those lives back.  I wish to God that it could.  Wouldn't that seem fair?  Instead, he's gone on and we're all here, left with somber memorials and 9/11 observations to remember those who were murdered or killed because of his actions.

I didn't know why, but this emotion came over me.  This sadness.  A profound sadness.  One which found me trying to make sense of why I felt that way.  Like most Americans, on 9/11, I woke up to news and phone calls about planes flying into the World Trade Center.  I saw it with my own eyes.  I saw planes disappear into those towers and felt like my entire world was crashing down on me.  I wondered what the hell kind of world did I wake up to.  It was all good the night before.  I was active duty then.  Like most of my comrades, they could've handed me an M16 right outside my front door, and I would've happily landed in Afghanistan to avenge those who were killed on that chaotic day.  The pain we felt as servicemen and women was amplified because we pledged to protect the country against all enemies foreign and domestic, and somehow we didn't because Osama's hate was so compelling, that he violated the very rules of war we thought were understood everywhere.  Being in Hawaii didn't help.  I felt so cut off.  I felt like I couldn't grieve because I was in a paradise.  And thousands of miles away, the country--one that tends to forget about Hawaii unless it's vacation time--was feeling the pain of such unprecedented attacks.

The death toll grew and it became clear that--with action in Afghanistan and then Iraq--that Osama Bin Laden had set off, with the help of an eager American Military Industrial Complex, a chain of events that claimed lives over and over again.  Day after day after day with no end in sight.  The base became emptier and Hawaii lonelier.  As we prepared to get out of the Army, because our child was our priority, it became clearer that the blood on Bin Laden's hands would multiply; would swell like a river ushering forth.  In one day, in one fateful day, Bin Laden's actions and those of his minions would change the lives of thousands for days, weeks and years to come.  Naturally, everyone responsible, whether their intentions were good or otherwise, will be held accountable, if not in this life, the next.  However, the ONE man that made this insanity possible will have to answer not only for his actions, but for the actions of others on a grander scale.

Tears sprang forth from my eyes.  I cried because all the memories came flooding back.  I cried because in some way, it felt like some lives were vindicated.  I cried because it was so anti-climactic.  That was it.  He was dead and did not even have to explain himself, and because of that, future generations will never learn the flawed logic of a megalomaniacal madman.  In turn, we may never learn from our mistakes.

So many sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, relatives taken away by IEDs, or suicide because of the strain of combat and the killing of one's fellow man.  So many lives gone never to get married or have children or see their parents grow old and wise.  So many flags draped over so many caskets.  So many grim processions through small town streets to a final resting place.  So many children without their parents.  So many veterans left to their own devices because they are no longer of "use."  I cried because it's not over and if we continue on this path in our foreign policy, it will never be over.  My husband tried to console me.  There was no fairness to this.  His death was as much a simple figurehead as he was.  It is but a chapter in a very large book filled with chapter upon chapter of the same old story, just with different characters.  The outcome in many ways is still the same.  They are all still gone.  Erased and forgotten.  The nation moves on as if they never existed.  The nation moves on as if those who survived tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq are lepers.  We, as a collective, pretend they are invisible.  We look on with some sort of sadness when we realize who they are and what they've lost, but that's it.  As a nation we expect that a "thank you for your service" will erase the fact that limbs are forever gone and psyches forever marred by nightmares and visions of fallen comrades; guilt for making it out alive.

With just a few bullets to his body, Osama Bin Laden was gone.  It was quick; probably painless.  A merciful death for a man who showed no quarter, not even to women or children.  In one day, it was over.  For us it's been a gradual punishment.  It's been a sick and twisted deja vu.

"Two soldiers killed in bomb blast in Iraq"

"Soldier Killed in Afghanistan"

I cried because even after his death, more lives will be lost and now there won't be a major figure to blame, but the country won't care.  As time progressed I wiped my eyes, and proceeded with my night.  His death has become as meaningless and utterly irrelevant as his very existence.  In the end, we shouldn't mourn or even pay attention to his death any longer.  If we truly want to dish out some sort of justice; if we really want to make his death mean something, let's rally around the 9/11 families and survivors, those veterans who answered the call and came home, and those currently still answering the call.  Let's stop talking about that beast, and let's start talking about the forgotten war and the forgotten troops in the forgotten country we went to war with first.  While at it, let's help those who serve and served in Iraq, and the families of those who died there.

The tragedy in all of this was Osama Bin Laden attacked us, and we were united, but then we let factions fracture us again, and then we discarded those who sacrifice and sacrificed everything, and then we forgot--or never bothered to care--about how Osama Bin Laden even rose to power on our watch.  The tragedy was not learning from the actions of the wicked to combat the wicked.  I guess only time will tell if the life and death of Osama Bin Laden and all those he touched, negatively or otherwise, will actually mean something more than just an "eye for an eye."

Osama Bin Laden Buried At Sea? You Mean Like Megatron?? Hmm...

by Eco.Soul.Intellectual

After years of being this elusive figure, the "killing" of Osama Bin Laden occurs in a shroud of mystery, then his body is dumped in the sea. Reports say he was killed in Abbotabad, a city between Gilgit and Ismabad, which is located in the northern part of the country, which is well over 1,000 km from the Arabian Sea.

Very fishy.

Who buried the body? Where is the ceremony? Where are the photos? Come on . . . my conspiracy nose is itching like I have pollen allergies. Just doesn't sit right is all I'm saying.

Then I look at the covers of the Daily News and shake my head. The "report" of this death without concrete data is irresponsible, but the way in which it was handled by this paper is beyond crude. It actually debases the American deaths that are connected to this search of Bin Laden, and in my opinion, pours fuel onto a oil field.

There is this idea that justice has been served. However, in war, there is no justice, just killing, and disrupted lives, and grief. The Bin Laden "killing" doesn't give a father who lost his daughter in Iraq a boner. It doesn't lessen the heartache of a sister who lost her brother at ground zero.

When you are dealing with a population of folk who will use children in diapers to blow up a couple of soldiers, the last thing you want to do is agitate people more. Oh, I thought I was speaking about the US military.

To be so smart, especially as a news source, some folk sure are stupid.

I have to conjure up King's quote, "War no more."

CNN Reports

(CNN) -- Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the worst terrorist attacks on American soil, is dead -- almost 10 years after the attacks that killed about 3,000 people.
The founder and leader of al Qaeda was killed by U.S. forces Monday in a mansion in Abbottabad, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, U.S. officials said.
Four others in the compound were also killed. One of them was bin Laden's adult son, and another was a woman being used as a shield by a male combatant, the officials said.
Bin Laden's body was later buried at sea, an official said. Many Muslims adhere to the belief that bodies should be buried within one day.
The official did not release additional details about the burial, but said it was handled in keeping with Muslim customs.
In an address to the nation Sunday night, U.S. President Barack Obama called bin Laden's death "the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat al Qaeda." Washington is nine hours behind Pakistan.

Why the Secrecy Over the Prison at Bagram?

by JuJuBe (Joanna)

Last week, a victory for the government in a federal court case sent a signal out to the rest of the world as to how loosely we hold the ideals of "liberty and justice for all" In a decision that is not surprising AT ALL, Federal District Judge Barbara Jones determined that the Pentagon DOES NOT need to make public vital information pertaining to the prisoners held at the Parwan Prison on the Bagram Air Force Base outside of Kabul.

The ACLU filed suit demanding that such pertinent information as circumstances and location of "capture", the national origin and citizenship, and the length of imprisonment of detainees at Bagram be released. They were denied, under the guise of "national security". And, the judge also decided that there is no need to reveal whether or not the CIA is keeping captives there. It seems like after the debacles at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, the government is reluctant to share any details of the hundreds of people detained at Bagram. The ACLU believes that it is for fear that the public will find out that many people being held are, in fact, innocent of any wrongdoing, simply victims of circumstance. Prisoners at Bragram DO NOT have the right to challenge their captivity in US Courts.

Barack Obama Wants Us to "Turn The Page," But...

Saw your speech last night, Barack; nice. Some of my progressive buddies are upset with you for giving props to George Bush like you did. Me? I'm not upset with you one bit; ain't like you let Bush off the hook for war crimes or nuthin...

As a matter of fact, I loved the way you praised him, and then turned around to remind us of just how he's screwed us after mentioning "his" trillion dollar war, and the fucked up economy you inherited.
“It's well known that he and I disagreed about the war from its outset, yet no one could doubt President Bush's support for our troops or his love of country and commitment to our security” - Barack Obama
Yeah Barry, you's a smooth brotha and I like that. But anyway, just wanted to take a quick moment to shout you out on your speech last night. Son, you was sounding madd presidential in that new-look office!

Yeah son, you done changed on us just a lil bit, son. But before we do like Jay-Z and move on to the next one; yeah Barry, Afghanistan (?). You know, the war you can't blame on George Bush? You know, that's why they call it your war, Barry (?). And unlike Bush, ain't like you lied about WMDs in Afghanistan...

Lemme remind you of the Barack you used to be when it came to being an anti-stupid-war kinda guy. So, here's Senator Obama vs. President Obama. I understand, bruh; them folks got you frontin' like that.

The Media's Lackluster Reporting on Afghanistan

A couple of days ago I was having a conversation with my friend and journalist, Tracie Powell, about the recent WikiLeaks debacle. In our conversation I noted that in my opinion, there's a certain apathy within the general public towards the war in Afghanistan. I told her that I thought the media had a lot to do with it. Although I'm not sure why, but it seems to me that we're not as inundated with war coverage in Afghanistan as we were with Iraq under the previous administration. Am I wrong about that?

Not only were we assaulted with coverage of our infamous war for oil, which came up a tad bit short on the hunt for those ever elusive WMDs. There was hardly ever a news broadcast which did not feature the angst of the general public as captured by war protests. Oh how funny things have changed from one president to the next. Last July is on record as being the deadliest month to date as far as U.S. casualties in Afghanistan, but you'd hardly have a clue of this fact if you haven't been following Afghanistan specifically.

So what is it? Could it be true that the Obama administration has some secret lock on the mainstream media as some of our friends on the right espouse? Or is it that we're so past 9/11 and the tragic events of that day that this war meas nothing, similarly to the fight for health care for New York's first responders? Does someone in the halls of Congress have to go into an enraged conniption fit the likes of Congressman Anthony Weiner to bring this home for the public at large via the media?

Michael Steele: "I oppose the war and more troops in Afghanistan, but, err, not really."

In recent weeks the subject of Afghanistan has become a series of epic penis sword fights. Not to be left out of the mix is RNC Chairman Michael Steele; or more affectionately, Captain Coontastic. So here he is at a recent RNC fundraiser in Noank, CT., waxing poetic about Obama's war in Afghanistan.

Of course even if you so much as pay mild attention to politics, you'd know that whenever Steele speaks some famous dead white republican rolls in his grave, while people like me laugh hysterically. No shit, Steele is a gift from the political comedy Gods; and it's a shame he'll be gone next January.

But on this latest bit, he goes against republican warmongering ideologues in condemning the war in Afghanistan. A war that I too and many people are against, but as usual, Steele will be Steele:
"The [General] McChrystal incident, to me, was very comical. I think it’s a reflection of the frustration that a lot of our military leaders has with this Administration and their prosecution of the war in Afghanistan. Keep in mind again, federal candidates, this was a war of Obama’s choosing. This was not something that the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in. It was one of those areas of the total board of foreign policy [that was at least?] that we would be in the background sort of shaping the changes that were necessary in Afghanistan as opposed to directly engaging troops. But it was the President who was trying to be cute by half by building a script demonizing Iraq, while saying the battle really should in Afghanistan. Well, if he is such a student of history, has he not understood that you know that’s the one thing you don’t do, is engage in a land war in Afghanistan? Alright, because everyone who has tried over a thousand years of history has failed, and there are reasons for that. There are other ways to engage in Afghanistan…"
VIDEO HERE

Now, me being totally against the war in Afghanistan, I fully appreciate the general context of Steele's opinion (?). Yes, I do believe that it's a damn shame that this pointless war has surpassed the Vietnam war; and, has managed to have its bloodiest month to date as recent as last month, after all these years. Not only does the war continue to cost our most precious resources - the lives of brave men and women of the military. It continues as a never-ending money-pit in recessionary times unlike any other war or time in history:

So here we are today and the House has approved another $80 billion towards the war effort in Afghanistan; while 1.3 million unemployed citizens are left to worry about not being given unemployment extensions, while dickheads on Capitol Hill are on recess for the fourth of July holiday. So yes, Steele is right that the war and Obama's troop escalation is bullshit. However, I'm left to wonder what are his motives (like I really don't know) especially since Steele most recently stated that this war, was a war we could not afford to lose.

But I guess as Steele asserts; having a land war in Afghanistan is futile. This would explain why George Bush started the very same war with a naval blockade of all of Afghanistan's naval ports of entry. Yep, nothing like good Ole naval warfare strategy when ti comes to stopping the Taliban in those caves, right Michael Steele? I mean hell, it's about time we had a war to put those nuclear submarines to use, right?

Yep, nice try on the cleanup of your statements to your warmongering party affiliates for whom you do your best buck-dancing. Yep, the same crowd who are content to keep throwing money away on this war while unemployed citizens starve to death as a result of this recessionary nightmare and economic shitstorm.

Jig, baby, jig!

Barack Obama's war in Afghanistan: Crack Pipe, Peace Pipe... Same difference!

"It should be incandescently clear that no one who has any concern for the integrity and life of America today can ignore the present war." - Martin Luther King Jr.

So I woke up yesterday only to be greeted by one of my Black Republican buddies on Facebook by the question: So what are your thoughts on Obama's war? The question didn't throw me off as it is what I have come to expect from Conservatives. Obama's war? Wait a minute, didn't we invade Afghanistan a little over 8yrs ago? Shit, they way they've spun this, you would swear that there aren't any troops currently deployed to that God forsaken depleted part of the world. My buddy then went on to criticize Barack Obama as I expect all now rehabilitated warmongering neoconservatives and their legion of lemmings to do.

My man said Obama was a hypocrite because he was an anti-war candidate while he campaigned for the highest office in the land. I laughed at after I questioned myself as to whether there has ever been an anti-war candidate, or whether there was ever one to successfully become president. I had to check my buddy again and remind him that Barack Obama was against the Iraq war, didn't vote for the then "surge", but always stated that the focus should have been Afghanistan.

Of course he didn't believe me; it's just like conservatives and their selective amnesia. But anyway, my man went in on Obama and said that the war in Afghanistan was stupid, and his decision to escalate troops was foolish because people in Afghanistan were too primitive to be fighting and as a result as he said "We'll never win!." Of course I laughed again because this was the same guy all gung ho about the "War on Terror," and tracking down some boogieman hooked up to a dialysis machine as he sat in a cave sipping ice tea, and reading the latest Taliban Playboy magazine edition.

These conservatives are a trip and a half. It's obvious that Dick Cheney has something against his cousin Barack Obama. I dunno, maybe he didn't get much love at the last family reunion, and he's a little salty. This fool had the nerve to come out of the lair he shares with the Grinch who stole Christmas and suggest that Obama was taking too long to make a decision on Afghanistan. And when Barack finally made the move, Dick Cheney had the nerve to say that Obama was "weak". Yeah Obama is weak but it took him and George Bush took only 50 days to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan when they went in just after the events of 9/11.

You know, for a war criminal Cheney is a bold muthafucka!

Really Dickhead Cheney? Mission accomplished? Different country, but do you remember that shit? Lemme guess, all this time troops in Afghanistan have been dying from boredom as they made finger puppets, right? Yeah, all those American casualties were as a result of paper cuts and the fact that like America, there is no Universal Health-care in Afghanistan? Yep, and Obama is sending in 30,000 extra troops just in time for Christmas to drop off toys for little Muslim children who pray every-night to Jesus for a Zhu Zhu Pet.

Look, personally, I think Obama made a bad move with this, and I wish he would have decided on bringing those troops home rather than add to quagmire that it already is. Of course I know that he had always lobbied for Afghanistan. But I thought it was just a front while he campaigned because, well, you know how Negroes go out of the way "To show how hard dey is." Yeah, I thought he was just trying to gain support from all those John Wayne war movie loving folks who are clueless as to what war really looks like. But hey, his approval rating with the "white folks" is now at a paltry 39%, so I could see him doing what he's doing to, well, "Show dem how hard him is!"

I'm an anti-war kinda guy and yes I'm disappointed by his decision. Uh-huh, and as an Obama supporter myself, I'm not hearing anymore of that talk about what George W. Bush did in the past from him or any of you other Obama supporters - especially those of you of the Negro kind who are comfortable with the "Give the prez a chance, he has only been in office 2 weeks" bullshit line.

Black folks protesting: "Obama is nothing but White power in Black face."

Last year Black folks represented and came out in record numbers to vote for Barack Obama in the presidential elections. This was a good thing I suppose; even in casting a shadow of blind support in the eyes of many and used as ammunition by the Nay Sayers - you know who I'm talking about, right?

I guess this is why it was big enough news when an exclusively Black organization that looks nothing like the NAACP recently protested the war in Afghanistan by marching in Washington DC. The march was put together by Omali Yeshitela's Black is Black Coalition.

One headline that ran the story read "Black radicals protest Obama":

A coalition of black radicals and their allies gathered in Washington DC to assert the continued need for the Black Nationalist and anti-war agendas in the era of Barack Obama.

After a marathon rally in Malcolm X Park lasting over 5 hours, the Black Is Back Coalition led a march to the White House.

Speaker after speaker lambasted Barack Obama (as well as other members of the black political elite) as nothing more than a new black face on the same old white capitalist imperialism.

“Sure Obama is better than George Bush,” anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan said. “The corn on my big toe is better than George W. Bush. That doesn’t mean we should elect him president.” “The amount of money Obama is giving to the banks is reaching Alice in Wonderland numbers,” journalist Glenn Ford maintained. Pam Africa of the Move Coalition was harshest of all, referring to Obama as a “punk”.

A number of issues were addressed in addition to the Obama administration. The connection between attacks on Muslim immigrants and racism against African Americans was a constant theme, and a poster of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah was in prominent display at the front of the rally. Speakers stressed the continued need for reparations for slavery as well as for solidarity with the Palestinians against the Israeli State. Obama’s refusal to support Durban II was mentioned briefly as well as gentrification, the sub-prime housing crisis and the difficulty of mobilizing anti-war forces in the age of Obama.

Black radicals? Wow, I never knew that 60s meme was still alive. But hey, I guess when a group of people lead by the efforts of a Black organization in a protest against Obama, they must be radical. I mean after all: every single solitary Black person voted for the man because of the color of his skin, right?

I guess this is a fair assumption considering that the perception seems to be that all the protests by teabagers and fringe elements of the right-wing to be racist in nature. Also, I guess speaking out and up about racism is in fact a radical act considering our climate of post-racialness.

Breaking News: Barack Obama will soon be reading your blogs and tweets

OK, calm down, I don’t know if he’ll be personally reading blogs and tweets sent out on twitter; I’d like to think the man is too busy for that type of stuff. However, according to what I read, the C.I.A. has recently invested in a software firm called Visible Technologies who specializes in monitoring social media sites, including blogs, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. How about that shit? Oh well, I guess it’s maybe time for me to start blogging cooking recipes and “safe” stuff like that, no? I might as well before those Black helicopters start hovering over my house.

Speaking of C.I.A., did you hear that the president of Afghanistan’s brother is on the C.I.A. payroll helping them fight the war on terror and get them Talibans over there? Yeah, I guess when you’re fighting a war against guys who wear those turbans and Jesus sandals you need all the help you can get. The only problem with it is that dude is like one of the biggest drug dealers in the country! Yeah “allegedly” this cat is a major player in the game all the while being on the payroll for the last eight years.

Oh well, like Jay Z said: “You can’t knock the hustle.” If dude can sell the Taliban’s dope and get paid by the U.S. Gov’t to take them down I ain’t mad at him. Besides, they did the same shit when they brought crack into the hood in Los Angeles to help fund those Nicaraguans, right? Yep, nothing wrong with letting drugs flow into the country especially when you’re fighting as Barack Obama puts it, “a war of necessity.”

And what’s this shit I hear about the FBI rounding up and having a shootout with some Negroes in Detroit who were talking about starting their own country? What’s that shit about? Oh lord, don’t tell me this is another one of those deals where some informant got paid to give the Feds wrong information. Shit, as bad as thing are in Detroit the last thing on a brothers mind is starting his own country. Hell Negroes stormed some office in downtown Detroit a few weeks ago trying to get money to be able to stay in their cribs. And you’re gonna tell me 11 Negroes who just so happen to be Muslim was doing some ill shit to raise money to start they own country?

Let’s be real; when you lock up these Muslim Negroes, who’s gonna sell that Taliban dope?

Their primary mission was to establish a separate, sovereign Islamic state within the borders of the United States that would be ruled by their spiritual leader, former Black Panther Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, who is currently in jail for shooting two police officers.

But the charge sheet alleges Abdullah used jihad to justify stealing cars, televisions, guns, fur coats and burning down buildings for the insurance money.
Three of the 11 men accused of participating in the crime ring remain at large. They face a variety of charges including fraud, conspiracy, selling stolen goods, and illegal possession of firearms.(Source)
I’m sorry, but I ain’t buying the idea that these Negroes wanted their own state. As high as the unemployment rate is in Detroit. I’d say they were probably just trynna eat son. But hey that’s just me. Hell people have been stealing shit all over the country for years and probably more so now since folk are unemployed. How come none of them are ever caught or even suspected of wanting to start their own country? Yeah, and how come all the “separatists” are always Black? How come they never catch the White ones?

Surely those White separatists are a bit upset that the whole “reverse discrimination” thing hasn't kicked in yet, and given them some exposure. Instead, they have to go out of their way to gather up a bunch of silly cretins politically like minded people and talk about secession while everybody else laughs at them.

The Truth About Bin Laden That Barack Obama Is Hiding

Look, a lot of you after reading this are going to think I'm crazy. I also think that some of you would think I should be committed to a state run hospital where patients wear tin foil on their heads. That's cool, but I feel its my duty to share with you people the truth as I always do. No longer can I sit idly by as you people accept what's told to you by our government. It is my hope that more Americans are brave like me to come forth and lead fellow Americans towards the light. Having said that, I want you to pay attention to what I have to tell you.

*sigh*

Osama Bin Laden is a Leprechaun.

Yes, it's true, and it's time you people knew it. You see for years we've been lead to believe that this man - the face of everything evil in this world - was a Middle Eastern terrorist. But this image of that man is so far from the truth. So why or how do you know this RiPPa? Well you see, it's not that I'm a conspiracy theorist, I was Christened Catholic. And yes I was, named after St. Patrick. Today being St. Patty's day, I see it fit to come forth with the proper information concerning this man.

Ok, here's something to think about. Bin Laden recently released a new audio, right? Yes he did. And he just celebrated a birthday not too many days ago, right? Uh huh, he's 52yrs old now. Do you think there's any coincidence that he did all of that just in time for St. Patrick's Day? Do you think if he was really Muslim that he would actually be careful enough to do all of this right around the time of the recognition of a Catholic saint? Exactly! If anything, he would have waited until the holy month of Ramadan. But no, instead, he came out with his audio release just to let people know that he was looking forward to celebrating his birthday, and getting sloppy drunk off of green beer, and groping unsuspecting women in bars.

Ha!

And to think all this time you people thought he was some crazy six foot plus tall jihadist. The fuckin guy is a midget who drinks a lot for crying out loud. Having said that, I seriously doubt that he had anything to do with 9/11. Trust me, people who like to drink (i.e. Irish Midgets aka Leprechauns) are into partying and not death and destruction as our gov't would have you believe. But yet, here we are in Afghanistan, 8yrs later, and still no Bin Laden. Surely in an 8yr time span you would think the military would have found at least one dialysis machine in one of those caves, right? Wrong! Instead, they've found nothing. And now our current president is vowingt to step up the number of troops in Afghanistan.

Don't you think it's strange that a president who was against the war in Iraq, is intent on escalating troop levels in Afghanistan? Especially since we've been there longer than in Iraq?!! Uh huh, I bet you didn't even realize that one, nor do you know why. You see boys and girls, with the economy being as fucked up as it is, you'd think Barack Obama would be against any more spending in the war effort in Afghanistan. He's told us that more troops there are necessary to stabilize the region because it's a breeding ground for the Taliban. Bullshit! The truth is, Obama knows that Bin Laden is a Leprechaun and he's really and truly after his gold just like those Lucky Charm kids.

Yes, the US Gov't is not telling you people that the end of the rainbow is really in Afghanistan. Uh huh, all these years I never knew that until now. Which makes me feel pretty dumb because when I was a kid, I actually tried to chase down a rainbow once but the damn thing kept moving. Trust me people, it might sound crazy, but a pot of gold can do wonders for this economy especially after giving away billions to failed banks. So you see, that's why we're still in Afghanistan, and that's why Obama is going to increase troop levels. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy and almost unbelievable, but hey, our gov't lied to us before about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Did they not? Of course they did. That said, are you still gonna believe its about terrorism? Hell, for all we know Bin Laden's real last name is probably O'Reilly.
