Hey Tea Party, Open Up Your Hearts & Let That Hate Out!!: Republican Rep. Admits to Losing Primary for Not Being Racist Enough

I often wonder the lengths I'd go if I were a white man accused of being racist to prove myself otherwise. Like, take Rep. Bob Inglis (R-SC) for example. Bob became one of the first Republican incumbents to lose to an angry insurgent Tea Party candidate in June. Well, Bob's not racist; at least he says he not.

Actually, Bob pulled the race card in a recent interview with Mother Jones. He explaining just why he lost his opportunity to serve the good folks of South Carolina as he has, even with a 93% lifetime rating. Bob is white by the way, and his excuse for losing was the fact that he wasn't racist enough; at least not up to current GOP or Tea Party standards.

Now us black folks have had debates about some of us not being black enough. But never in my wildest dream would I ever imagine a white politician pull what I call, the reverse race card. In the interview Bob explains that he was chastised during the primary for refusing to call president Obama a "socialist". And he even admitted that much of the GOP's criticisms of Obama is in fact rooted in racism:
Instead, he remarks, his party turned toward demagoguery. Inglis lists the examples: falsely claiming Obama’s health care overhaul included “death panels,” raising questions about Obama’s birthplace, calling the president a socialist, and maintaining that the Community Reinvestment Act was a major factor of the financial meltdown. “CRA,” Inglis says, “has been around for decades. How could it suddenly create this problem? You see how that has other things worked into it?” Racism? “Yes,” Inglis says. (source)
Now of course one has to wonder if Bob won his primary, would he be saying this of his party? Is this just another one of those convenient excuses often used by black folks as a crutch, but this time thrown out there by a white man? When you think about it that way isn't it funny? I mean I think it is. Hell, Michael Steele even acknowledged that much of his criticism from his fellow party members was due in part to his race. But I guarantee you that none of the people in his party supports his opinion, and would deny any of his foolishness.

Of course the fact that he's a complete buffoon has nothing to do with his criticisms; but maybe he knows something about his party that we don't know (yeah, like we don't have a clue about their agenda). Which is pretty funny because while they deny their racism and chalk it up to them having a philosophical and ideological difference of opinion on policy. They chastise good white men like Bob down in South Carolina. That is, unless they're being challenged by the NAACP and have to resort to kicking people off the Tea Party Express.

At least Trent Lott's old buddies over at the Council of Conservative Citizens subscribe to the notion of "keepin' it real," much like black folks do. Those guys are a upset that the Tea Party has decided to run away and not embrace their God given right to be racist and secure the freedoms America affords that are exclusively for white people. Yep, they're not happy, and they're not afraid to let it be known:
This was a great opportunity for the Tea Party movement to show some backbone by laughing in the face of the imbeciles at the NAACP. But did they? Of course not. Predictably, they responded in the same tired, pusillanimous manner with which they always respond to these never ending accusations. Instead of replying with a loud BWAHAHAHA! or a “Yeah? What’s your point?” or “So what?” or “Of course we’re racists -we’re white people.

That’s what “racist” means or “Can any of you race hustlers even spell “racist”?”, they predictably went into their usual bend over and grab their ankles mode. They protested that oh no, we’re not racists at all, we don’t tolerate racists at our rallies which are really huge rainbow coalitions, and it’s the NAACP and the liberals who are the real racists, etc., etc. You know, the lame “Bull Connor was a Democrat!” defense. It never works, but they just keep trotting it out like some lucky charm in the vain hope that this time it will work.

Racist means white person. Period. Until the Tea Partiers get that through their heads, nothing’s going to change, and they’re never going to be an effective political force. (source)
So what was the point of this blog? To tell you the truth I don't even know anymore. But I think it had something to do with the fact that only white people can use race as an excuse for their failures in today's political climate. Yeah I know that white privilege thing is a bitch and I hate it. But hey, all it took was for a black man who refuses to acknowledge racial attacks against him from the opposition for this to happen.
